One of the absolute best sit coms ever. Unbelievable how they all can enter their characters at will. I have watched this episode at least 4 times and it never gets boring.

I've seen this episode many times but I just noticed that when Jethro and Ellie May took the adults upstairs to change, he took her and she took him!😀
@retroguy94943 жыл бұрын
I'm not quite sure what you are referring to with your use of pronouns. Do you mean that Jethro took Jane and Ellie took Marty instead of Marty escorting Jane? Etiquette WOULD dictate that since neither of them knew where to go to find the clothes.

I didn't notice that, the next time I watch it I'll be sure to look for it. Jim Baucus was a great actor in this episode. God bless the Beverly Hillbillies. I watched an interview with Max Baer and he said Donna Douglass never cussed ever. She was a Christian all of her life and after her roll as Ellie Mea she was a Christian singer. God bless Donna Douglass!

'Marty, Marty' of course is Martin Ransohoff, the head of Filmways Productions, which produced this series, along with the other two 'rural' comedy shows. (Petticoat Junction and Green Acres) He's also the one who tried to make Sharon Tate into a star. In it's second season, Tate made her television debut. (Janet Trego)

Laurie Davis they really do. I started watching season 1 on a different channel which didn't have any commercials I don't think, but I had to watch some other stuff for a few months and couldn't find the original channel when I was ready to continue. This channel popped up on my feed one day and I'm glad it did, so I could continue on with season 1, but I still wish I could remember the first website I had been watching! That doesn't mean I don't have great appreciation for this channel though cause I love it, commercials and all!

Do Jed and granny ever remind you of Tyrone and Gladys?
@jackkircher17553 жыл бұрын
Jed was Jethro's second cousin not nephew and Granny wasn't his grandmother.
@retroguy94943 жыл бұрын
Well, Pearl was Jed's cousin. Jethro was Peal's son. So that would make Jethro and Jed first cousins once removed. Granny was actually Jed's mother in law. Which is why her last name was Moses and not Clampett. So you are right. Technically, Jethro wasn't related to granny at all! Unless you consider your 1st cousin once removed wife's mother a relative. But no one does.
@kosmokritikos9299 Жыл бұрын
@@retroguy9494 That may be correct, but where I come from, Jed and Jethro would be called second cousins. They are often referred to as "The Clampetts", but only two of them are.
@retroguy9494 Жыл бұрын
@@kosmokritikos9299 Well, I don't know about traditions in the various places around the world and what they may say. But universally, if you study ancestry, a second cousin would be a relative with whom you share the same great grandparents. An example would be your parents cousin's child. He or she would be your second cousin. Actually, this would make Jethro and Ellie May second cousins. Because their shared great grandparents would be Jed and Pearl's grandparents.
