Once you understand the trap of keeping things that you "might use one day" it sets you free to finally live in the present, not a hypothetical future.

The problem is not having clothes from 15 years ago. I still have a few good quality pieces from up to 20 years ago but my wardrobe is clutter-free and organized. I don't keep anything I don't wear.

I have a rule that for everything I bring into the house, I have to get rid of something. I keep a box in my hallway that I toss things into, for instance if I’m cooking and I notice I have too many soup ladles, I’ll toss one or two into the box. When I bring home clothing- every time I hang a new article up, I pick out something I haven’t worn in awhile and I toss it into the box. When the box is full- out it goes. I think “this could serve someone else, it’s not serving me”

She was on the show from A&E called the The Hoarders based on her mother. Her mother is a huge hoarder and they were trying to clean the mother's house. The fiancé said the same thing about this lady on the show. It's probably why they are not married still.

that's just so funny, how she sits, and how he manspreads.

They always choose "easy going" partners to tolerate their hoarding. I watched tons of Hoarder shows and they all say the same things "I don't like to waste", "I just need time to organise/sort my things" but then they pick some of the stuff up and look overwhelmed and then just move it elsewhere. If you leaving brand new items with tags on in a pile is a waste!

Yes your right! On that show she was dealing with her mother's hoarding. She also had another rich fiancé who had great reservations about going through with the marriage because of the hoarding.Guess he got out in time..as you can see, she didn't change. This new fiancé is going thru the same!

Why does hoarding get worse as you age?
@mgm5794 жыл бұрын
I donate clothing and shoes to Dress For Success and other causes regularly. I also sell everything I may never wear again on eBay. Try to stay clutter free as much as possible yet still feel like I have way too much with an ever changing taste and lifestyle. I have regretted some of my donations but catch myself thinking that it will or has done good for others in need and not worth my sentimental thoughts. Started a maybe pile with one year test which typically ends up going as well.

I'm so tired of this woman. Shes been on hoarders. She gets off on this and her fiance is just as bad for allowing it. Surprised Mel that you would even take time for this woman. You could've used this time for a much better /educational show about someone that really needed help. Disappointed. 👎
