Loved this episode! I have to say, when Taylor was describing her “attraction blindness” my first thought was that that actually sounds like a good description of how it feels to be asexual (or demisexual)

I love this chat so much. It’s was validating and educational about birthing since I don’t have kids. I’m 36 and learned more than my private school evangelical sex ed. 🙏

Broads! If you ever wanna do another Bible broads episode, I highly recommend reaching out to Tim from The New Evangelicals. You can find them on Instagram and they also have a podcast. They are a community of deconstructing Christian’s - some who want to reconstruct their faith and others who have left it entirely. They call out christian nationalism & all the evil things people are using the Bible to do. Really really love Tim, he’s also a great speaker and podcaster. I think he’d do great!

My Christianity has been something I'm stubborn about, similar to how I plan on keeping my last name: just because certain people have tried to use it for the worst, doesn't mean I have to choose the same path. I can stand strong in what I believe and I don't have to let others dictate what that means to me and how I should be living my life.

I loved this chat so much. Would love to see Taylor back! The only think I thought. Even though you aren't Christians anymore (I had a very similar journey, so I relate 🙂) doesn't mean you have to accept porn. You said: 'Sometimes my husband just needs huge fake tits.' I guess you don't have a big problem with it anymore? But I don't understand that thought pattern. Just because the 21th century offers porn, doesn't mean you have to accept it. I (I know, subjective) don't like my partner looking at other naked people.

Great episode! I will say though if your not comfortable with your partner watching porn that's okay too. Every couple is different and what works for some might not work for others 🤷. No one should feel bad or guilty either way, just thought I'd put that out there. Fun episode though I enjoyed this conversation ☺️.

My whole idea of being even remotely famous is going everywhere with a team. LOL I think I just watched Entourage too much, but I'd want a Vince and E relationship with my manager. . . maybe a reason why I'd very likely fail in that world. I know! I'll get a real manager who has a professional schedule/life and then my "for-show" team to just like be my posse and I'll give them titles at random. TY for the life advice, bless. I grew up in the midwest also and totally thought I could get discovered, the blonde guy from High School Musical was a choir kid from Springfield, Missouri and I think the story was he moved to LA and then got stopped by an agent at a mall. Pretty sure it wasn't a Missouri mall but it still felt *SO CLOSE lolllll

Jesus taught us the rewards of and how to live in the moment, but the church moved the reward to the future. Why? To be able to "manage" the people who adopted their creed at the Council of Nice. Love, love, love the episode. Here's a tip: Print Ecclesiastes 9:11 and tape it to your mirror. "I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."
@wakaywa2 жыл бұрын
Which church? The church that I attend practices none of what you described. People there are not managed. The greatest gift I’ve received is the gift of Salvation. So, even if we don’t worship the same, it’s all good. Take care. Bye

I love Ecclesiastes. I think it's the most profoundly disruptive book in the Bible, and I'm not sure how it managed to get in there or to say there once it _was_ there. To me, the quote you cite above basically means, "Shit happens. No one deserves anything, good or bad. You just get what you get. Live with it." For the author of that book, our relationship with God can't be about rewards and punishments, which was what most people thought it was; hence, pleading and begging and praying and sacrificing and such. No, no, no. There's got to be another way, a different kind of relationship. I'm just not sure what that is.

I’m like somewhere in between growing up Christian I guess. Before my mom passed I was raised as a catholic and after attending their private catholic school for one year in kindergarten I got told not to come back lol and then my mom passed and I just remember everyone telling me hey it’s fine but it’s Gods plan and at 11 that turned me off almost entirely from Christianity but my dad got remarried within a year of my mom passing and threw me into a Christian school where I was very involved but at the same time had a lot of anger and disappointment In what I saw from students I was severely bullied for not having the designer polos and I hated everything about the “Christian’s” who attended the school. I never felt good enough to play by the rules but never bad enough to skip school so I have very mixed feelings about how I grew up.

@Rhiannon I've listened to the broads for a couple years. I hate that they have turned against God and embraced the devils agenda. Everything B says about " spiritual warfare " is very true and they need to wake up. ⏰ the new age movement is demonic and they're playing with fire.

The Sopranos ending credits 🤣🤣 that is also what I think of when I masturbate. I also grew up in a strict Christian household. But I never felt much particular shame around it, definitely sex tho. I am currently with my partner of 12 years and we lost our virginity to each other-- but it's been a crazy road!
