@@sk-un5jq Incorrect. Roman Governors were the only ones vested with imperium which thus gave them the authority to sentence someone to death. Roman Governors were instructed to not get involved with affairs such as this unless it upset the peace of the Empire. Remember that at that point not a lot of people considered Jesus the son of God so to Pontius the life a peasant jew in exchange for a peaceful passover was worth it.

I believe once in Pilate career as Governor Jesus impressed him,also Pilate only motive not to cruxifiy Jesus was fear of the Temple Priest further distorting the facts and pushing for Pilate removal from his office on grounds of incompetence,which the complaint didn't have to go as high as the current Caesar to have this happen.

I don’t think Isaiah implied that he would be ugly, just that there would be nothing about him that would be out of the ordinary and he might not “feel” like a mighty warrior like someone like David. Although it is true that Diogo Morgado is probably too attractive, that doesn’t change the fact that he still portrayed Jesus quite well in other regards.
