My church is Non denominational, we follow what the Bible says not what someone says the Bible says. The Bible may not use the word Trinity but God has three forms, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that cannot be denied. My church has everything you listed above except for the Quarum of the 70's which is strictly a Mormon term. You cite Luke but if you are saying that Church must have that you are wrong. Nowhere does it say that you have to have something like that in your church. It says that Jesus appointed and sent out 72 to do his work. A Church can have all those things but that does not make it the right church when their doctrine is complete nonsense. Mormons follow the teachings of Joseph Smith. The man was a womanizing conman who was well known for being a great story teller. Oh and you cannot deny the womanizing part because it's well documented that he had numerous wives. There is no logical explanation as to why God would wait so long to reveal what is presented in the book of Mormon. Also the God says that the Bible is not to be added to and what did Joseph Smith do... he added to it. He practically rewrote Isaiah. Also I pose this question to you: Why did God only let Joseph Smith and a few others actually see these golden plates? The original manuscripts of the Bible were seen by many. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Knowledge of the true Nature Of God, and our relationship to Him, was lost with the original apostles. Our Lord Jesus Christ promised He would send us more prophets and apostles after His resurrection. Before the Day Of Pentecost, Simon (Peter) learned via The Holy Ghost that Jesus was The Christ. Biblical proof is in The New Testament, but many will not see it due to misinterpretation. Just as we do not agree on interpretation of the Word Of God, so is this difference in interpretation between enough mainstream Christians so as to cause well over 1200 different Christian faiths. This is proof to me the need for modern revelation. Then again 'Straight is the way and narrow the gate, and few there be that find it'. Sorry, but Paul himself was an Apostle chosen by Christ Himself and his teaching of grace and justification by faith alone is precisely what Jesus taught. The professor who claims Jesus said anywhere in Scripture that we are saved or justified by keeping commandments missed Jesus entire point in the Sermon on the Mount: "Be perfect, even as your father in heaven is perfect." So there you have it, commandment-keepers. If you want to be saved by the Law, by doing good deeds and attaining your own righteousness, then be perfect "even as your father in heaven is perfect." No mistakes, not a single one. Jesus' point was you cannot keep the commandments and be saved, which is precisely why He came, to fulfill the Law and be the perfect propitiation for our sins. As Paul said, any attempts by man to add a single work to the perfect and finished work of Christ is anathema.

How do you explain the fact that 2 Nephi 16:2 is copied from an older version of the KJV of the Bible in Isa 6:2? This is proven because this older KJV (the mistake is corrected in current versions) made a rare gramatical error by using the incorrect plural form of "seraphims" rather than "seraphim".

Good one but there isn't proof that it is or isn't plural... The context of the verse shows it could be either. The real issue is that Seraphim is now considered to be a plural form... and since English grammar wasn't set in stone this is merely a grammatical error.

Mormonism definitely fools many educated people. A simple study of the evolution of Mormon theology shows that it started off being much closer to traditional Christianity. By 1843 Joseph Smith was deep into underground polygamy and had to find a way to bribe members into handing off their daughters and wives to him, so Joseph changed the nature of man into a god in embryo and Joseph claimed that polygamy was required to become a god in the hereafter.

My second question to you would be : have you ever read THE BIBLE? If so, then your response to this presentation should cause you to critically question the Lack of documented HISTORICAL EVIDENCE that there ever was a race of "Jaredites" or "Nephites" , since there is no mentioned them either in the Bible or in secular history nor for that matter, is mormon history able to support or validate proof of their existence. If you want to know just how inauthentic Joseph Smith was, just read his "inspired translation" of the Bible, specifically Genesis 50. Joseph Smith added several verses to this chapter. Of course, he has no source document to translate from, he just makes it up. What he makes up is damning. He tries to insert himself into a prophecy in Genesis 50. Verse 33 "And that seer will I bless, and they that seek to destroy him shall be confounded; for this promise I give unto you; for I will remember you from generation to generation; and his name shall be called Joseph, and it shall be after the name of his father; and he shall be like unto you; for the thing which the Lord shall bring forth by his hand shall bring my people unto salvation." This Joseph, son of another Joseph that is prophesied was written/translated by Joseph Smith Jr. The LDS church even has church lessons where they identify this as a prophecy about Joseph Smith Jr. It's basically like the movie "Forest Gump" where they insert Forest into history. Just this year I inherited my grandfathers personal copy of the "Holy Scriptures" by Joseph Smith, Junior. This "Inspired Version" was copyrighted and printed in 1944. The most interesting thing I noticed and was utterly shocked by was Genesis Chapter 8, Verse 11. It says: And it came to pass, that Noah continued his preaching unto the people, saying, Hearken and give heed unto my words, believe and repent of your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, even as our fathers did, and ye shall receive the Holy Ghost, that ye may have all things made manifest; 12 And if you do not this, the floods will come in upon you; nevertheless, they hearkened not. I found it strange that Noah would have even heard the name "Jesus Christ" and that people were getting baptized as their fathers had in that name. I am so glad that I became a Taoist.

I'm a UK Athiest but Mormonism fascinates me; I went to church a few times as a kid but other than that Religion was only really around during weddings, which were fun days out. But this Mormonism takes over your entire life, Family Home Evening; Temple Garments, no alcohol or caffeine, Saturday Morning Session, etc etc. It seems like something an overbearing American parent would want for her children; "We do all this religious stuff, we must be good people right?" +Debbi - Interesting you reference Scriptures about works to support your statement about grace. I think Matt 7, when including the whole paragraph explains it. The workers of iniquity were not banished for their good works, but for their lack of relationship with Christ. And the injunction to do the "will of the Father" is not the same as following every thing the Bible says. The best way for an individual to "do the will of the Father" in their personal life is to be in tune with the Holy Spirit to learn what His will is on a daily basis and thus at the same time develop a relationship with Christ. thus the grace of God is dispensed on a daily basis by and through the Guidance of the Holy Spirit.

There's just so much evidence and resources all around. Just gotta know where to look. Prophets in the early days of the church said that there would be evidence for the Book of Mormon and now look, more and more evidence is coming to light and more people need to know that. Don't get me wrong, if you belong to another Christian faith, that's perfectly fine. Who am I to hate another Christian for believing differently than I do? Everyone is at different spiritual levels. But the Book of Mormon is definitely a life changer and deals with things the bible barely talks about. It gives you a whole new perspective on God's eternal plan for his children. When the missionaries gave this book to me a while back I started to read it but it was just terrible. I read the introduction and 7 of the 8 witnesses seem to be members of two different families, one with the same name as the author. I wondered why the story about the disappeared gold plates. It sounds like wives tales or urban mythology. I watched the video and this book of mormon isn't worth the pages it's printed on. I watched the Lds scholars review the bible vs book of mormon video and it's so unprofessional. Their so-called scholars include John Welch, JD. JD is a law degree not an archaeological credential. In 1848, a yearning which Oliver Cowdery had for the society of those with whom he had once been so familiar, caused him to visit Kanesville, Iowa, where Orson Hyde, then president of the Twelve Apostles, was residing, and make application for a reunion with the Church, which was granted by his being baptized and duly admitted into the Church by Elder Hyde officiating. Soon after this, with the view of joining the Saints in Salt Lake valley the next season, he, with his wife, desired first to visit her brother, David Whitmer, then living in Richmond, Missouri. For this purpose, in the month of January (1849), they started on the journey by team, but were overtaken by a severe snowstorm which compelled them to seek shelter, which they obtained with the writer of this article, [Samuel W. Richards] then temporarily residing in the upper part of that state. Here they found it necessary to remain some length of time on account of the great amount of snow which had fallen, completely blockading the road, and for a time preventing travel by teams. This detention of nearly two weeks time was extremely interesting, and made very enjoyable to both parties participating in the social and intellectual feast so unexpectedly provided. I had but the fall before returned from my first mission to the British Isles, and was in the spirit of inquiry as to all matters of early history and experiences in the Church, and soon found there was no reserve on the part of Oliver in answering my many questions. In doing so his mind seemed as fresh in the recollection of events, which occurred more than a score of years before, as though they were but of yesterday. Upon carefully inquiring as to his long absence from the body of the Church, he stated that he had never met the Prophet Joseph, after his expulsion from the Church, while he lived, apparently feeling that the Prophet could, with equal propriety, enquire after him, as for him to visit the Prophet, and as his pride would seemingly not allow him to become a suppliant without that, it was never made; while he felt quite sure that had he ever met the Prophet there would have been no difficulty in affecting a reconciliation, as a feeling of jealousy towards him, on the part of his accusers, had entered largely into their purpose of having him removed, which he thought Joseph must have discovered after going to Missouri. This indeed seemed to be his only ambition, and he was now going to visit his wife's brother, David Whitmer, and prepare to go to the mountains and join the body of the Church the following summer and unite with them. For some cause this was not permitted, and he died in Missouri among relatives before realizing the intent and purpose he had cherished of again testifying of the great work and dispensation, which he had been instrumental, with the Prophet, in opening up to the world. To hear him describe, in his pleasant but earnest manner, the personality of those heavenly messengers, with whom he and the Prophet had so freely held converse, was enchanting to my soul. Their heavenly appearance, clothed in robes of purity; the influence of their presence, so lovely and serene; their eyes, that seemed to penetrate to the very depths of the soul, together with the color of the eyes that gazed upon them, were all so beautifully related as to almost make one feel that they were then present; and as I placed my hands upon his head where these angels had placed theirs, a divine influence filled the soul to that degree that one could truly feel to be in the presence of something that was more than earthly . . . I don't see Joseph smith setting out/beginning with intent to to deceive and I don't dismiss that he did have several encounters with something at that time but the missing link or most obvious difference between what he (claims to have( saw and biblical accounts is glory or a bright light/presence that is always present in the biblical ACCTS that is so bright that it is impossible to see or view directly and is even linked to death if viewed directly. Moses, Elijah etc all had to shield their faces as to not view directly although biblical ACCTS tell that glory of God is so intense that it then changed Moses facial feature where he had to wear a veil. To the person or persons who say they found Zarahemla: At least a size of several thousands, with an ancient city or town plan resembling that of Jerusalem, Babylon, Damascus, and even ancient Pompeii, Herculaneum and Napoli.
