"The Lion King" was definitely a hot property for the 1994 Christmas rush. I remember the Christmas commercial for "The Lion King" video game for SEGA Genesis or Game Gear, featuring the late Joe Alaskey. ("Sega Genesis or Game Gear... Mega Pegasus or Reindeer?")

@ I bet the 1994 Christmas Rush had so many parents stressed out over getting their children Lion King merchandise for Christmas. Then 2 years later, Tickle-Me-Elmo caused a lot more stressed parents and pressure. Hopefully those parents didn’t go through con-men dressed in Santa suits.

In two days, Mufasa (2024) hits theaters. It's in direct competition with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024). While my movie plan this Friday is to see Sonic 3 (as I've been a fan of the franchise since the Genesis era), I expect Mufasa will have a dedication to James Earl Jones. On the subject of non-holiday specials, I did see Tiny Toons Looniversity: Winter Blunderland on MAX. I'm not going to spoil too much for those who haven't seen it yet. In my opinion, it was better than Looniversity's Spring Break special (but not by much), but not as good as "It's a Wonderful Tiny Toons Christmas Special" from the OG Tiny Toon Adventures series. Then again, I was expecting Winter Blunderland not to be as good as IaWTTCS, so I can't say that I'm disappointed in that regard. I felt like Comic Book Guy in the Simpsons episode, Treehouse of Horror XXVI; He went to see the latest Star Wars movie, expecting it to stink to high heaven. That scene in the book where Zebra sinks into a pit of quicksand makes me think of that Robot Chicken sketch where it happened to a giraffe.

James Earl Jones is one of those voice actors you'd enjoy hearing read anything. Also, "The Brightest Star," while not a Christmas Story, shares some similar elements with the story of Jesus: A king guiding his people, teaching them the values of generosity and humility, and ascending into Heaven so that he may watch over and guides us all.

Hey i remember that book, I used to have it when I was a kid. Heck, when I was a kid, I even attempted to act out everything that was going on in the story, despite not knowing or understanding what was going on in the book.

I wasn’t That much of a lion King fan.🫤 But I was a Star Wars fan😉👍🪐🤖🛸🛰️🚀 James Earl Jones plays the role of Mufasa from The Lion king 👑 🦁 and Darth Vader from Star Wars, but you probably already knew that. Lol!😄 RIP James Earl Jones😔 1931-2024 Long live the king, and may the force be with you, always.😢🦁👑🪐 Simba and Luke Skywalker will miss him a lot because he was their father.😭
