Its because he was the most down to earth dude on the whole sjow. He was honest and real. He balanced out the guys. Sheldon was stiff, raj was shy and sweet and Howard was a horny toad corn ball, leonard was the balance. I loved him and amy....then it was sheldon for me. Same. I can get why some people might not like Leonard, but I’ll never get why so many just crap on him so much. He’s funny as hell with his quips and expressions - can’t hate on those eyebrows - and then he has this sweet little boy moments that are just delightful. I won’t say that I don’t wish certain things had gone differently with the later seasons because I feel like a lot of the other characters got the backseat while Shamy was at the wheel - NO HATE ON SHAMY CUZ I LOVE THEM TOO - but a little more balance with all that character juggling would have been great. Also… LEONARD DANCING IN HIS BOXERS IS SUCH A MOOD! Seriously - if any of you guys haven’t enjoyed the freedom of dancing in your home with your music on full blast all alone or with your sweetie THEN DO IT!!!

Season 4 and 5 up until he got back with penny was the best leonard. His sarcasm was way funnier and chill and he just seemed more confident and likable. Before and while he was with Penny she was always so dominating it made him so overly pathetic. Season 3 and 4 were honestly the height of the show.

Leonard and Sheldon are by far my favorite characters of this masterpiece of a show. As a kid I looked up to Sheldon and saw him as my favorite Bc he was so similar to me (looking back I probably related to him so much because of my ASD) and to this day I still love watching him fumble his way through social interactions like I do! Leonard was also always one of my favorites because of his place as the “middle-man” of the show. Of his friends (excluding Penny) he’s the most normal, but not without his moments lol, also the guy’s straight up iconic with his witty comebacks and sarcasm 😂

I hate Leonard Hofstadter. The guy is a creep. Howard and Sheldon aren't much better. But Leonard is projected to be the nice nerd an he isn't. His relationship with Penny (or whatever the hell you call it) is toxic. He makes fun of her incessantly because he thinks the being smart puts one in a better standing than any other virtue. He never realizes that Penny is a lot smarter than him, it just is a different kind of intelligence. Meanwhile he makes her feel worse about her life decisions -- choosing affection toward who she wants, following dreams instead of woking pharmaceutical sales, cheating on her and then making fun of her weight in the same episode on their wedding night. His bullshit hissy fit about Penny's Vegas wedding drove me crazy. He is jealous without reason. Do you remember his whiny routine when Sheldon told him there was a doctor at Penny's door with flowers? Or how about when he told Penny he loved her for the first time and she did not say it back to him? There was a big blowout at the bowling alley because she told him he caught her off guard and she wasn't prepared. Leonard says, "Well, you've had time to think about it? What do you want to say?" When she responds she doesn't know, he gets all pissed, like she owes him an "I love you." Meanwhile, the only reason he is with her is because of her looks. Like I said, he makes fun of Penny's intelligence all the time. However she is the greatest friend to Sheldon and Raj. After an initial hiccup with Howard, she is a good friend to him too. We never saw her say "I love you" to another guy. Let's not forget that he cheated on at least two women through the course of the series. He also built up the man-made theory that things a man does are acceptable and things a woman does are not. If I were her I would have dumped Leonard for Raj in a second.

Okay, you’ve made it abundantly clear in your 5 paragraph essay of a comment that you don’t like Leonard, but why go out of your way to trash Sheldon as well? Howard I can understand Bc in all honesty he does come off as a creepy perv, but Sheldon??? What’s he done? I can’t remember a single moment in the show where he did anything creepy with bad intentions (unless you count the *much* later seasons but I don’t use that to define the whole show) he’s just a remarkably smart man with ASD who’s trying his best to navigate social situations as best he can. If you’ve got evidence to prove that Sheldon’s as bad as Howard and Leonard, then I’m genuinely willing to listen and may change my opinion (it’s quite doubtful to me that I will, but you never know lol)

Him and Sheldon were in my personal opinion the best comedic foundation of this entire series with everything they said and did when interacting with each other!
