Something just doesn’t sit right with having a friend of the opposite gender crash at your house. Especially an ex for that matter. I guess it depends on the person and relationship, but it’s inconsiderate and insensitive to your partner. I could never do something like that myself nor be okay with my partner doing it Unless the person was family. It just crosses the line and goes against my rooted and preconceived social paradigms. I view a home and living with someone as deeply personal and intimate, something shared with yourself, family, your partner (and I guess friends if they are opposite your sexual attraction). So having someone of the opposite gender (if your heterosexual) just breaks that idea for me and makes me incredibly uncomfortable as there is no guarantee something won’t happen. I can definitely see where Leonard is coming from in this video, especially when he asks if the friend is gay.

But remember, the writers have the final say.

Penny has the upper hand in this relationship because of Leonard inexperience with dating women and because of his painfully relationship with his mother. Plus Penny has had multiple relationships with men. And they have not worked out for her. Leonard is not her type(physically and sexually), but somehow she loves Leonard because he care deeply about her well being. He loves Penny but is insecure about their relationship. Just leave it at that. Not all men have confidence when it come to male female relationship. He just has develop that part of himself. He has to fight for Penny because his heart tell him to. Some people call him a fool. He may well be one . but like Penny says "the heart wants what the heart wants".

Personally I think Penny is the wrong here. While I'm not in any way saying Leonard is the right either, he should show more trust in her, but in this instance, she's definitely the one who's in the wrong here. I'm NOT saying she should abandon her friend either, but she's basically just sitting there not caring about Leonard's feelings at all, she should've at least been more understanding because she's been on that side of the pond too yet she has the gulls to bitch about Leonard's feelings. Not only that, but she also has a track record of getting dicking him around at first in the relationship, and then breaks up with him. On top of that, she leeches off of the guys for food and internet and all that stuff just because the guys (besides Sheldon) thought she was hot. So seriously, she's technically the one who's wrong here.

She probably overreacted a little to let him know that she will not let anyone control her. He needed to know that. After all, they were still just getting to know each other as bf and gf.

Actually she wasn't wrong here at all 1st off Leonard allowed her to do all those things too him & Sheldon on a daily basis she even told him on countless occasions if he had a problem to tell her about it but because he is such a gutless control freak she continued to do it to them ? Besides their not married it's not his apartment it's hers so how can Leonard tell her who she can & can't have over like really Penny's a grown woman Leonard needed to realize for so long he liked her but she didn't like him like that he finally get's her & now he wants to be a man instead of a loser ass nerd hell nah dude should be grateful she even gave him the time of day to be honest so Leonard is in the wrong not Penny.

Leonard definitely can't tell her what to do.. but that's not the point.. she's hot yes but they're in a relationship 'n Penny should be in it for her feeling for Leonard.. I'm not saying Leonard was right, they both approached the problem poorly, but she could've been more considerate toward his feelings 'n he should've trusted her decisions~

She should've given him a heads up about having a guest, and especially if he was going to crash on her couch. No one owns each other but it's still rude not to say anything.

naah penny is not wrong here but yes about the part that she used the guys earlier here if she doesnt care for leonard n will cheat on him then Leonard must acknowledge it n break up or let her go u cant lock someone up from meeting hotter prospect to keep them in life.. u actually wanna get rid of such persons in ur life. So leonard is absolutely wrong here. they r not living together to get any permission for any household inconvinience.

I'm with Leonard on this one.... Penny's ex is going to be living with her for a couple of days and he's probably a lot better looking that Leonard so ofcourse he's gonna feel insecure! Also, when Alex flirted with Leonard, Penny got mad. So according to her logic, Leonard can't get mad due to a situation created by Penny HOWEVER, Penny can get get mad at Leonard because a situation that wasn't in is hands.

Look people, both of them are in the wrong for various reasons. Communication was not used here at all. Penny should have given Leonard a heads up that she was going to have an ex boyfriend stay with her. No Leonard does not have the right to dictate who she allows into her apartment or to stay with her. Penny should understand where Leonard is coming from about an ex staying with her. Yes Leonard should trust Penny more. The best compramise for a situation like this is to have her ex stay with Leonard and Sheldon. This ensures that the dude isn't out on his ass, Penny still gets to see him, and Leonard can get to know him to try and be friends with him.
