What people fail to realize is someone on the spectrum can be taught. Sheldon's parents didn't teach him how to live in the real world because his intelligence threw them off. Amy was his equal so she didn't have that problem.

I think people fail to realize Sheldon is officially not on the spectrum because, regardless of being on the spectrum or not, he's a selfish jerk. The first thing he thinks when it's announced his usual barber is in the hospital is "What do these things happen to ME?", not even considering (or pretending to consider) that someone being in a hospital is pretty serious. Sure, someone can totally be on the spectrum, taught, and still end up a selfish jerk, that's not the issue, but regarding lack of representation of people on the spectrum in the media, a bad representation wouldn't be PC

Interesting, as someone on the spectrum myself, I experienced the opposite of this. My regular barber wasn’t in and the barber that was there wouldn’t cut my hair. He said it was because he wasn’t familiar with the adjustments my regular barber makes to allow me to cope with it such as I put my hand between the clippers and my neck. Which I am aware makes it harder for them.

@Nogs Galogs when someone is on the spectrum there’s a part of their brain that doesn’t work like other peoples, it works differently, it causes them to do things they can’t control. No discipline will help that, understanding and being courteous to their situation is the best way to do things. I agree: they've crossed from border-line Asperger's to just odd and fruity. The thing with Amy: not so much. The original humor was in Sheldon's inability to have a relationship. It wasn't so much ineptitude in relationships (which is where the series seems to be going) as much as a complete incapacity for relationship that comes across as self-absorption. His intellectual brilliance was counter-balanced by his relationship 'developmental delay' - TBBT used to be funnier that way.

Uh, there ARE hair dressing records, these do exist. I had them for years as a kid. Women especially get them if you have color or any permanent treatment, or special requirements. A real hair dresser keeps them in a Rolodex type file box. I have NO idea what Leonard is saying. I do not like any other hair dressers presently, and do not like them touching me. I trim my own hair, and it’s awful.

I couldn't stand getting a new person and the notes are never followed and the wincing and waiting and worrying to see if they F'ed it up. Then the walk of shame if they did lol.
