I am SO not a “boat guy” and this whole series reaffirms my beliefs. I appreciate a big, long, twin or triple Hemi or Mercury Marine powered Donzi, Fountain, Scarab, or even more so a vintage wooden boat... l but I sure don’t want to own one. I'm wondering if there is enough boyency in that small jet ski to support that big engine weight. I don't think it will float. Kinda like a top fuel drag boat .... When they stop,water rushes up over the sides and they have been known to sink. This could be a problem.

As crazy as this contraption looks I can't imagine that it'll run all that much different than any other jet boat of similar size and weight. The rear seat arrangement likely isn't all that heavy and jet boats have long run high hp big block blower motors. They're obviously a handful when they have this kind of power to weight ration but they will lose suction and thrust if they leave the water's surface at least. The upright jet ski steering/seating arrangement and finger throttle don't strike me as being much of an issue. As long as the cg isn't so high that it flops over at rest I bet it runs okay. Kudos to him for going in a unique direction.

i like the 25 pounds of crap analogy haha that boat must be crazy!!!!!! I did a 6.7 swap on a f550 with the cab on well i had to left the front portion of the cab 7 or 8 inchs . The worst part is getting the v band on the manifold. you can get 2 fingers inside. Thats what this made me think of.

3.60’s is a huge number for a drag and drive car. Probably can’t do that in straight up drag and drive trim. Ned Dunphy has gone 3.71 in his SMX powered Viper so far. I will be very happy at 3.90 in 1/4 mile drag and drive trim.
