The Big Blind | S2E14 | The Last Pass by Final Approach

This episode is something not everyone can experience. A giant blind on the Platte River with heat, comfortable chairs and breakfast cooking in the background. The Platte River is such a wild river with parts of it only 30 feet wide to this part which is much wider than most folks think at about 120 yards. We join the Whiskey Sloughs crew, a bunch of young outfitters out of Nebraska who have made their passion into a business. They bought the property and turned this part of the river into their paradise. Joining us on this trip is Paul Wait from Delta Waterfowl, Josh Peck from @outdoorlimits and a few of the regulars. Teal, Mallards, Big Geese and even a Bootlip stop by to see us.

That's what I call a proper hunt- they certainly got the right spot, you could live there for the whole of the wildfowling season. Our inland season finished today and we finished with a bang last tues when my brother and I shot 17 greys in an hour, a long way from our car so we had to make two trips; what a weight to carry, but well worth it. Looking forward to seeing more videos while we shoot the common things now (rats, crows, and pigeons) but if any canadas turn up we can shoot them as they now regarded as a pest.

Be thankful the “rich guys” enjoy and support hunting. Because when their money stops supporting shooting sports, you can bet your @ss that your opportunity to own guns and hunt will cease. Don’t be a hater because some dude used his cash to buy a sweet hunting spot, that’s bad on you. If you don’t love hunting for the experience of making it happen, then where you hunt isn’t gonna matter anyway. If you don’t enjoy it with or without birds, then more money won’t fix it. If you love it, busting your ass to make it happen is all you’ll need. Money just makes it easier to make it happen.

We hunt places like that and are fortunate to do so. We also grind it out on public and hit the pavement to find public spots just like everyone else. We chase them hard no matter where we go. You can't kill em sitting on the couch complaining.
