The biggest problem with enigma jewl is that most activated abilities aren't that expensive coupled with most activated abilities requiring more colored mana than non colored mana, meaning even if you build around it your not getting full value unless your running sub par colorless cards

I made an explorere deck with: - _The Enigma Jewel_ - _Renowned Weaponsmith_ - _Omen Hawker_ The idea was the same, activate abilities of artifacts, but i don't have all these powerful mythics so i roll the dice with _Chaos Wand_ lol. If i had the Preator cards, i would probably be rolling _Realmbreaker, the Invasion Tree_ instead.

yes but tbh sometimes when you play 2-3 people in a row who take 30 seconds to play their first mana card, you go on emote tilt. at least emotes you can mute

What about a 1 of the enchantment that makes duplicates of another permanent you control? If you can resolve that and synth, you can hold out against a really heavy control. Maybe you can put in sideboard, if there is a way to search sideboard in standard atm. When I played on arena 100 years ago, I used to jam Masterminds, in every deck, just to be able to have access to sideboard if needed. Not sure what's in standard atm. I'm only a commander player now. =D

Been using the Enigma Jewel with Collector's Vault for a reanimator deck and when it goes. It goes haha. Always wanted to use Simulacrum in a deck ever since I got absolutely owned by one when I was new to the game.

at 26:22 - assuming no further interaction, tapping down valgovoth (-3 artifacts) and playing mazemind tome (+1 artifact) would be 12 damage on the way back so 1 short of lethal, but if you scry before sacrificing for ward, you would see the enigma jewel on top to further grow the constructs to 6/6, i.e. 14 damage. would that have worked?

It and Aegis were both considerations, but they’re a little too slow in the current meta. Not too many creatures above 3 cmc we need to answer. Aegis is also a little easier on the mana.

While the deck did well in this set of games, there were a number of things that felt off as I watched this from the lense of someone who has been playing synthesizer lists in standard for basically all of foundations. First severe lack of either artifact copying and/or repeatable triggers. It seems most likely due to having to fit in so many payoffs to validate enigma jewel which is a card that will improve massively with Aetherdrift. That said enigma jewel is just better suited to the grindy dimir versions of synthesizer decks, largely because the 2 drop artifact removal/control pieces in that pie are much better suited to being sacrificed and copied via esoteric duplicator. Also I don't know if it was delibrate or not, but I didn't see him post a single match of him going against golgari and/or anyone who played a brotherhoods end. The latter azorius has plenty of tools to cope or deal with that is largely just not used currently. However many of the pieces golgari is already running to deal with the enchantment spam/lynchpinning that currently goes on in the format also hits artifacts so I wouldn't be surprised if that deck ends up getting played even more than it already does.

Would definitely include it as my first utility land. With the requirements of Enigma Jewel (14 blue for turn 1) and Day of Judgement (16 white for turn 4) it still felt a little sketchy to include colorless sources. Maybe if we run a few Seachrome Coasts we can make the mana work, but we would likely introduce more tapped lands or make the Verges less reliable.

at 13:38 you say you were short of casting a 3 mana artifact but had you activated vault you would have had 2 treasures, and with the discount from Urza you could've cast a 3 mana artifact

I've played it in previous iterations. Definitely a solid card that I would have in the 75. In control matchups where we don't need Day of Judgement it's a pretty easy swap.
