Enjoy watching these Big Dig time capsules. It would be interesting to have pop-up bubbles with modern commentary that explained what we know to be true post completion.

Wish they built the North South Rail Link! Hope they do it now with electrified regional rail

Don't hold your breath; The orange line extension to Malden was first planned in 1910, did not get there until 1977

@@interstellarphred there were plans for the rail link in the early 1900s as well as during the big dig

@@robsterkmc The railway link circa 1909 was actually called the "central artery" along with a plan to electrify lines that are now bike paths. There was also a proposal to place a transit railway in the Route 128 beltway; It got the axe early on as the project was ridiculed as the highway to nowhere ( don't build it too big 'cause there is nothing there and no one will use it). Deja-vu? Besides, we may wish to reconsider the concept of placing a tunnel with lots of holes in it at its deepest points 100 feet below sea level next to the rising ocean. A link exists in mothballs in Worcester. or it could be placed to the West on higher ground in the inner belt corridor with less exotic and costly engineering.

It is going to take long time until we see a people mover at Logan. Definitely need one to connect North and South station.
