I'm convinced at this point that Butch Hartman is purposely doing the dumbest things possible in this show to get Nickelodeon to cancel it so he can finally move on but it's all backfiring and Nickelodeon ends up loving each horrible idea (kind of like the Rocko's Modern Life episode "Wacky Delly"). I have a better idea for a plot here. Chloe still acts perfect in the public eye, but when she's away from the public she's a total mess. Being perfect gives her social anxiety. All she wants is a friend who likes her for her and not because she's so perfect. Timmy is fueled by jealousy because she's taking attention away from him and when goes to get back at her, he finds out the truth and feels bad for being so selfish. Cosmo and Wanda give him the idea of sharing them with her to which Timmy agrees. Seriously there was so much wasted potential here.

+stlouisrocker100 Exactly! Overachiever characters can work. They just need to be not THIS perfect, and also have some justification for why they're so perfect. Chloe says "I'm a bit of a mess sometimes' but we don't really get to see that at all.
@halfdemonprince7 жыл бұрын
Or they could've said that she's miserable because her life like Nichole Waterson's meaning that her parents are super strict and raise her with the idea of "If you get anything lower than an A and aren't the best at everything no one will love you." Or that her parents force her to do all those things because they failed at doing them, so they live vicariously through her. That would have made Chloe much more sympathetic and relatable to the audience since there are parents who rise their children like that. My friend's parents raised her like that and as a result she ended up having a mental breakdown in the 5th grade.

I actually kind of wish Poof and Sparky were in this episode because it would provide a really easy solution to the whole sharing thing. Seriously, instead of making them share, why couldn't this end with Chloe taking Poof and Sparky? That way we could get rid of three useless characters at once and the show would go back to the way it was.
@IsabellaCataldo9 жыл бұрын
+Astral Now that I think about it, maybe one of the reasons for this "fairy shortage" is because Timmy is somehow allowed to have FOUR fairies at once. Most kids aren't even lucky enough to get one, but Timmy has two fairy godparents, a fairy baby, and a fairy dog. Hell, why don't we just end the season with Chloe becoming a fairy?
@geekgo49 жыл бұрын
+Isabella Cataldo Trust me. No, it wouldn't.
@HissinSpit9 жыл бұрын
+Isabella Cataldo - That'd be great. That being said, how much do you want to bet that the reason the other two weren't in this episode was solely because it gives the writers an excuse to lazily pop out two episodes from it - one where Chloe meets Poof and another where she meets Sparky?
@IsabellaCataldo9 жыл бұрын
+HissinSpit We're going to get the three of them interacting in the future? If that's the case, why not just get rid of Timmy altogether so we can devote more time to them? They've already screwed up the entire concept of the show by this point, so why not just abandon it altogether and make it into a completely different show? We could call it "Three Bland Characters and Some Magic" because Nickelodeon is probably too lazy to come up with a good title anyway...and I really hope I'm not giving them any ideas.

That said, this episode has serious problems for me not just because of the lack of consistently good jokes or a cohesive story, but because it basically breaks half the rules FOP established and doesn't answer the questions it raises. For example, the Anti-Fairies are only supposed to be able to get to Earth on Friday the 13th. Anyone see a problem since their appearance is after Timmy wishes away FRIDAYS?!

I don't get why poof gets all the hate. He didn't ruin the show in any way imo. Season 6 was still good, and we did get a kick-ass 3-part movie series (Wishology, not that live-action shit). I think the show just ruined itself overtime, no new characters involved (specifically season 7, the last season we saw chester, aj, trixie, and francis before the writers just forgot about them; hell even anti-cosmo and anti-wanda were still around shortly after foop's introduction during that season). It's not like once poof appeared the show just magically (no pun intended) got bad immediately on the first episode of season 6. It's like spongebob, sure it got bad after the first movie, but it didn't turn to shit IMMEDIATELY on the first episode of season 4 (in fact, fear of a krabby patty is actually one of the best, if not THE best post-movie/pre-sequel spongebob episodes, along with others in the first half of season 4). Sparky, though, is definitely a shitty character, i can agree on that.
@PIEGUYRULZ9 жыл бұрын
+Jaimentalli You're right, he isn't the worst thing ever buuuut: 1. His premiere episode was pretty terrible and weird. 2. He took over a lot of the focus of the show. 3. Brought about Foop. 4. In a lot of episodes he's just useless and kind of there. He may not deserve all the hate he gets, but there are a number of problems that are related to his character.

+Jaimentalli Poof is just a nothing character who takes up space.

***** I agree with you on some aspects, but it's not him that ruined the show, like many people say. That's like saying a new background fish character ruined spongebob because they just so happened to first appear in season 4.
@Jaimentalli999 жыл бұрын
***** And he didn't really take over a lot of focus, they just wanted to make episodes about him so that he didn't seem useless. We still had a complex show with many characters after his introduction. Some of them didn't even focus around poof, unlike now where once sparky got introduced, EVERY episode focused on or involved him. I mean, if wishology would be made nowadays, it'd probably involve just timmy, wanda, sparky, cosmo ruining shit, maybe with poof in the background somewhere, getting help from foop and mr. crocker. Not a single supporting character, not even timmy's parents (except maybe for his dad, who'd probably just stumble into the action with his signature "oooh", and say something stupid)
@AuraLeafstorm9 жыл бұрын
+Jaimentalli Poof's introduction is around the time I stopped watching The Fairly Oddparents, but not specifically because of Poof himself. Sure, I didn't like the new gimmick character (is there anything TO like or defend about an empty space character?) but he wasn't the main reason I stopped watching. Firstly, the main issue I take with him isn't the character himself, but the purpose behind his introduction. Like I said, it was a gimmick. Audience manipulation. That's what I disliked. Secondly, the new character isn't the only thing about the show that changed. You could argue that the changes started before Poof, after, whatever. But the point is, the show's style of humor was changing around that time. Whether you like it or not, it's different. For example, characters overreacting to things with over-the-top facial expressions. They didn't do that too much before, but now it's commonplace in the show. And that's just one thing.

If they wanted to shake things up by specifically bringing in a new character in the form of another kid who knows about fairies for Timmy to have adventures with, why not just lose the whole "fairy shortage" plot point and have Chloe be a godkid ALREADY, with a fairy of her own? Have this seemingly perfect girl move in next door in who's done all these implausible things and knows the president and somehow is able to provide all these miraculous favors for everyone in town. Maybe at the beginning she could give some kind of backstory on herself to explain it all a _little_ bit, like her parents have some job that requires them to travel all over the world and send her back all this stuff like her petting zoo of exotic animals, and allow her to have met all these important people. But then you have Timmy think "Something's fishy about this" (After all, remember the _last_ time we saw a perfect heroic kid who managed to win over their whole town with good deeds? It was the young Denzel Crocker, and he was able to do all that stuff because _he had fairies._ Specifically Cosmo and Wanda). So Timmy sneaks over to stakeout Chloe's house and discovers that-- surprise!-- she has a fairy godparent too. Then maybe he could confront her and she'd confess that yeah, she'd lied before. Her parents aren't these awesome travelers with amazing connections-- in fact, her parents aren't even alive and she lives with her senile grandmother or something! (Please note that I have no idea what Chloe's actual home life is stated to be like in the show, but from what I've seen I did notice a distinct absence of any mention of her parents). In any case, her fairy is pretty much all she's got. And maybe she really is that altruistic of a kid and she's been using her wishes to try and make others happy and improve the world in ways she never would've been able to otherwise. So then, presto, there you go! It's more believable that Chloe would be miserable enough to have fairies, Timmy has a good reason to feel like he misjudged her, and the two of them can go on as many magical adventures together as they would if they shared Timmy's fairies. Plus you get a bonus new character in the form of Chloe's fairy, whoever they are, and they could have an interesting dynamic with Cosmo and Wanda.

There are SO many ways they could've made Chloe a good, interesting, and well-rounded character. Off the top of my head: 1. Set her up as a talented kid, but she has pushy stage-parents and the people who want to be her friends are just riding on her popularity. 2. Just make her a regular kid; a distaff counterpart to Timmy with a different personality - more level-headed but less experienced with the knowledge of magic? Or more quirky but comes up with really creative and interesting solutions to problems? 3. Set her up as a Mary-Sue, but completely and utterly subvert the trope. Not sure how you'd go about this, but it's something I'd like to see. Maybe these aren't completely original solutions but it's better than what we got. Waste of a character. And Timmy being such a jerk in this episode was really sad. It would have been really heartwarming if he had offered to share his fairies without any prompting from Jorgan or anyone, in one of the above hypothetical scenarios. The conflict in the episode could have come from, say, Chloe getting used to having fairy godparents, almost exposing the secret, and Timmy having to make a choice whether he should risk keeping on sharing them or take them back and make Chloe unhappy. No shoe-horned villains, just keep everything character-driven. Anyway, sorry for this ramble, there's just SO much wrong with this episode.

@TheTitandragon1008 жыл бұрын
Here's what "The Big Fairy Share Scare," should be... Timmy and his fairies ( including Poof and Sparky) get poofed to fairy world by Jorgen. Where he tells them that there's a fairy shortage and that Timmy must give up three of his fairies in order to help the other miserable kids in the world. Since the amount of miserable kids have doubled to the point where all the fairies in fairy world, even Jorgen have to leave their homes in order to stay with their god-kids. But since most these kids come from dangerous parts of the world like South Africa, the middle east, and bums from Brooklyn. Timmy tries to boycott the idea, until Jorgen suggest that he could give his three fairies to three local kids from Dimstale like Chester, Tootie and a girl named Chloe. Timmy has a debate on who should he keep as his god parent. Until Cosmo says he wants to be with Timmy, because Timmy still owes him a nickel or something. Timmy rejects since Cosmo is an idiot. But the decision was made, and now that Timmy is stuck with Cosmo, Sparky is stuck with Chester, Wanda stuck with Tootie, and Poof is stuck with Chloe. The special will focuses with Cosmo trying to show Timmy that he is not a useless idiot, Chester enters a series sport events with Sparky, in order to be successful, Tootie and Wanda try to get revenge on Vicky, and Chloe turns out to be part of a race of manipulating fairy eating monsters that take the forms of miserable human children that cause the worlds misery increase in the first place. Now that she has sucked poof's magic away Chloe and her monster race plan to take over the world, spreading nothing but misery to everyone. Now it's up to Timmy and his friends to stop this new threat.

I think it would have been better if it was Tootie. At first Timmy wants nothing to do with it. He tries to avoid her as much as possible soon hurting her feelings. He feels like a complete jerk as he gets home Vicky has to babysit him. Stuff happens yada yada yada. After the babysitting fiasco Tootie comes over and gives Timmy a doll similar to her Timmy doll but it's of Cosmo Wanda and Poof. She says that she really cares for him and didn't mean to make him feel like she was trying to steal them away from him. She leaves after her parents call. Timmy looks at the small plushes and is reminded of when he lent his fairies to her. He wishes he was in Tooties room and apologizes. They hug and Tootie and Timmy celebrate with Cosmo Wanda and poof. Course this is just my idea and I am not a professional writer so I can't give a great script.

Tootie's a good choice but I think Veronica could also be a good substitute. She's got a TON of mental baggage (obsessed with Timmy, manic obsession with Trixie, ect) and there's some story potential with a crazy person with Fairies and having Timmy help her through her mental problems. Heck, Timmy would now have to be the responsible one and that would be a nice change of pace; moreso than Poof or Sparky ever were.

"Forced and unnatural" is what the show has been for quite a while now. Fairly Oddparents has always been an on-the-nose, in-your-face kind of show, but the earlier seasons balanced it out with better pacing, and some moments of subtlety. It knew when to take a breath and let an emotion play out, even if only briefly. That sort of charm doesn't seem to be as present anymore, if at all. Not to mention the fact that there are probably a million plot inconsistencies now. Isn't Friday the 13th supposed to be anti-fairy day? And the anti-fairies come to power when Timmy erases Fridays? ...What? I hate all these shoehorned-in new characters. All of them. They represent a show's writing team having nothing left to work with.

As far as I'm concerned, Season 7 of FoP was the last season. At this point they really need to kill the show because it has gone on for so long it's not even good anymore. Oh, and Chloe is a blatant Mary Sue since her character is unrealistic even for a cartoon. I mean, how can she be so perfect and talented? Granted this could be justified in the fact that she could have wished for all of these things off-screen before Timmy met her, which could have made her a bit more tolerable, but it just comes out of nowhere and is utterly forced. Yeah, I actually think the show shot itself in the foot too many times for me to like it anymore. Also, the part about the selfies and the duck lips just feels like a desperate attempt to stay relevant when the show used to stay timeless.

+Masterge77 I'm not sure how to feel about chloe yet but i don't get the mary sue part. Jorgen said she needs fairies because she "messes up sometimes" and mary sue's don't mess up.
@Masterge779 жыл бұрын
flowerbunny91 Well, Chloe only "messes up sometimes" but that's every human being. Timmy got fairies because he was abused by Vicky and treated like dirt by his parents, and only kids who are "miserable" get fairies, not kids who simply mess up sometimes. To put it simply, this episode is written like a typical self-insert fan-fiction with Chloe being the typical self-insert Mary-Sue character. To put things simply, she's perfect in every way with her flaws being extremely petty and trivial, everyone likes her and quickly integrates her to the cast with those not liking her being essentially treated like crap (in this case, Timmy), is exceptionally talented in a lot of areas (knows 12 languages at 10 years old and other things) and she's overpowered and seems to take control over the story while overshadowing all the other characters. Now again, I said earlier this could have all been justified in the fact that she could have wished for all this off-screen, but it's clear she was already like this BEFORE she got fairies, which makes her even more of a Mary-Sue due to poor writing.

Well, yes and no. A big part about Mary Sues is how characters react to them. Mary Sues can do horrible, horrible stuff, but no characters will ever call them out on this bad behavior. Everyone still totally loves them, except characters that the author hates. Characters who hate Mary Sue tend to get portrayed as bad, like how Timmy acts really bratty here. Pieguy mentions this. Chloe removes the thorn from the monster's foot, and she claims that the monster destroys the town...but in the beginning, Crocker says she saved the town, and all the kids love her. No one ever reacts to what she did badly.

It's a darn shame when writers of a "major" (I use that term VERY loosely) television network don't understand how a Mary Sue can destroy their work. These types of characters you expect to see in bad fan fictions, NOT on a long running television series as Mary Sues are nothing more than a way for a writer to either have a character do whatever they want with no repercussions as they see fit or as the plot demands, or a cheap way for a writer to insert themselves in their stories and make themselves invincible, which NEVER makes for a good story as these aren't even characters. Characters have at least some sort of depth to them. Mary Sues are nothing more than plot devices or pawns. What makes this episode even more insulting is that it completely says "screw you" to Da Rules, if that is even a thing anymore with the show, by giving Chloe fairies. It's almost like they either just don't care anymore or completely forgot what Da Rules was supposed to do for the show. To be honest, adding new characters can be a good thing. I never had a problem with the show adding Poof. Sure he's not a very interesting character as he's just a baby, but at least it gives Cosmo and Wanda a bit of a different personality, being more parental. Adding the stupid dog is when they went off the deep end. It severs no purpose to the show, the dog is highly unlikable, and it's just there to find more plot devices. Now Chloe is just a repeat of the dog. At this point I've given up on this show ever going back to it's glory days. At least with Spongebob, thanks to Hilenburg's return, is going back to what made it funny and memorable in the first place. This show is just a rotting corpse on life support that needs to have the plug pulled. And no, it can't die with dignity because the addition of that idiot dog destroyed what little dignity the show had left....

+Taylor T A Mary Sue is a character usually used in bad fanfictions to basically be the perfect character. They are automatically loved by all, they may not contribute anything to the plot or be a self insert who barely engages in the story (like the audience), and they happen to be skilled in various things without justification. They're too OP for a simple cast of characters in a story, and they're usually not given much depth outside of being perfect.

Here's what I notice about the Fairly Oddparents: They suck at adding new characters. With shows like Gumball for example they use new (and old) characters to their advantage. When there's a character they didn't do anything with in the past, they find a way to use them well. When a new character is needed to advance a plot, they bring them in and create some kind of plan on what the character will do in the future. The Oddparents throws in a new character for the sole purpose of adding more boring episode gimmicks and staying relevant, which is probably why Sparky and Poof weren't in the episode with Chloe, just so they could make two EXTRA episodes where she meets each of them. They also take out characters kind of like Gumball has, but not because they do something with them later, but usually because they get replaced. Trixie is no longer Timmy's love interest, for example, but now a girl named Missy is, probably only to add in a love interest who's in Timmy's league. (Sorry for writing a comment bible, I just felt like that needed to be said.)

Alright, seeing as how I kinda liked this episode, allow me to make a rebuttal: First of all, Jorgen not Telling Timmy about the reason Chloe was miserable can be explained away easily- Chloe's misery is her own personal business, and it's not Jorgen's place to tell Timmy about that. It's up to Chloe to tell Timmy herself. secondly, I thought that reasoning was solid enough- Fairies are migrating to other jobs, and thus the industry is falling. and that being the case, wouldn't it make more sense to have Timmy Turner, who has THREE fairies, four if you count Sparky, and Jorgen himself interacts with them so much I'd even count him as a fifth, share his fairies with another miserable child in Dimmesdale, especially one who is his neighbor now, rather than assign another fairy when they need all they can get? that's all you really need, to be honest. even without that explanation, the logic still stands- there's no reason to deny another kid a fairy just so Timmy can keep all five of his to himself.... Thirdly- Chloe getting a call from the president IS a bit ridiculous, I'll give you that. Getting out of Class I can just chalk up to Crocker's desire to not teach these students, and going with whatever flimsy excuse is given to him. Chloe giving out all these things... she's rich and generous. That doesn't make her a bad character, though. quite the contrary, I think. Winning the Nobel prize for niceness- ridiculous again, however given that her encounter with that monster wasn't the entire story, I think it's safe to assume that there's more to that story- exaggeration? Any event simply spoken of that I didn't see her do in the episode is left ambiguous given what we find out about the monster encounter later. beating up Jorgen? I'd say that's ridiculous, but he was caught off guard, never fought back, and I think I remember Timmy doing that on at least one occasion (don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure he grabbed and threw Jorgen once). chalking that one up as cartoony slapstick. As for Chester "Needing Fairies", we had an entire episode proving that Chester DOESN'T need fairies. Chester is perfectly happy, and loves his life in his trailer with his dad. he only became miserable when Norm interfered with his life, and his dad became rich and successful. Tootie was answered too: If she ever had fairies before Timmy loaned his to her, she blabbed them out to everybody, and lost them. misery doesn’t just need to be external conflicts. Maybe I’m the only one seeing this, but it was clear enough to me that the reason she has fairies is not from a horrible babysitter or neglectful parents, but instead, from self-inflicted psychological abuse- if Chloe causes a problem, or makes a problem worse, her first instinct would be to blame herself for it, and put herself down for it. And if all you thought of yourself was that you were nothing but a big screw-up and did nothing but cause problems for others when you only want to help, you'd feel pretty miserable too. I know I would. I have the same problem of self-blame. and why does Chloe seem so optimistic and cheerful? maybe it's a mask so her loved ones don't worry, maybe it's just in her nature to be so despite what she thinks of herself. whatever the reason, it's clear enough to me why she received fairies, but I do agree that the episode didn't do a good enough job explaining that, especially since I'm one of the few people I know that actually picked up on that. This episode makes me really enjoy Chloe, moreso than any of the other characters they've introduced thus far. She's not annoying; she's just an optimistic do-gooder. I Don't see a Mary-Sue, I just see another character that honestly, I think people just want to hate. I went into this episode hoping Chloe would be a good character, and I thought she was. maybe the inverse is true for everyone else? On a separate note, I love how her design contrast's with Timmy's- Yellow Shirt, blonde hair, Butterfly Bow, Flip Flops, and that Chipped tooth. It's actually a brilliant design. So yeah- Overall I liked Chloe. her introduction was flawed, but it still left me with plenty to like about her. though I'll admit, Peridot is the better "New Main Character" added this month.

+RidleyKraid187 Speculating is fun and all but, a lot of what you're saying here really isn't in the episode. If Chloe has inner struggles.... the episode really needed to imply that past "I'm a bit of a mess sometimes". The episode doesn't say she's rich, and beating up Jorgan would be a comedy thing if it weren't for the fact that she's like this with EVERYTHING in the episode. Fair enough with Jorgan not wanting to say she's miserable.... but they could have gotten across that idea better. Timmy does not have 5 fairies, you know Jorgan is a stretch and, Poof and Sparky are nowhere to be seen here. By that count two, and actually according to the episode itself, more like 1 and a half. It's great that you like her, but it seems a little bit like you are reading into this a bit. This episode didn't really have any subtly. The reasons you give make sense, but don't really feel like that's what they were going for, and if it was the episode absolutely fails at getting these points across.

Like, I've seen a number of good shows introduce a new character, who after character development and visible signs of their flaws and strengths they join the main characters or tend to show up more Unless this is more a case of Badly adding in a new character, like Chole's whole story lacking any of the real requirements of being a fairy-godchild. A character who doesnt mesh with the world, or is seemingly built to make the main character look bad?

***** Maybe I did over-analyze a bit here... a lot of that has to do with the demonization of this episode by pretty much everybody, which I just can't agree with. and because of this, I almost feel obligated to try and defend my opinion, because if I can't defend my opinion, it's worthless and I have no business disagreeing, you know? I know that's not true, but it's just the feeling..... and yeah, many of those points are all just speculation and trying to fill in logical gaps. maybe I've just been conditioned to look deeper into things that I've begun to see things that aren't explicitly there... and even without the deeper thinking, I can safely say Chloe is still enjoyable to me.... Do you think it's wrong for an episode to be considered good if the viewers pick up on unintentional points? I think this episode, for me, is almost an inverse of what episodes like Sun Bleached and One Course Meal are- those episodes carry certain elements that make those episodes worse when people start reading into things- elements that were probably unintentional, like undertones of racism or suicide jokes. whether or not they were really going for those things, the episodes are still made worse because of those elements.

Over the past 12 years there have been SIX stopping points for this series in its 18 year (which also includes season 0) and counting run. “Channel Chasers” in 2004, where we get a great epilogue for the show and most fans would agree that it provides the best closure to the series. “The Jimmy Timmy Power Hour 3” in 2006, where Timmy & Jimmy end up creating a villain who’s supposedly was more challenging than any other of their previous adversaries and was planned as finale of both series. (Link to Post: fairlyoddparents.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_The_Fairly_OddParents!_Episodes/cancellation). In 2009 there was “The Wishology Trilogy”, where Timmy saves the universe in an epic two-hour event. “A Fairy Odd Movie,” in 2011, which retcons the future from Channel Chasers and has Timmy in the end basically screw da rules, follow up by “Meet the OddParents” IN THE SAME YEAR, where Timmy finally reveals his fairies to his parents, and that results in the family becoming closer. Not counting the live action film, the other four instances I’ve just mention were times in which the show could have called it quits on a positive note, and you would think that after “A Fairy Odd Summer” in 2014, (which has a shark jumping ending with Timmy no longer needing his fairies now that he’s become one...AGAIN!) Nick would have gotten the memo to put this show out of its misery, but no, they just keep renewing it over and over again. This might sound cynical, but at this point this series only purpose now for continuing is to be a waste of space and to the staff an easy check in the mail. P.S. If it makes anyone feel better, Chloe is voiced by Kari Wahlgren (Shandra Jimenez from Gravity Falls and Rip van Winkle from Hellsing Ultimate). P.S.S. With all the pointless characters there are adding now, will we finally be able to have an on-screen appearance of Vicky's little brother? (For all of you wiper-snappers back in the series pilot when Vicky is babysitting Timmy for the first time, she threatens him with blackmail, stating that “It works great. Just ask my little brother!” She then picks up the phone, dials the number to her house, and from the other end of the line her brother is heard screaming.)

Chloe is basically an example of Wander done wrong Wander, the main character of Wander Over Yonder (which i am currently obsessed with), is described by another character on the show as "pure, unadulterated love" and his main character trait is that he loves and sees the best of everyone and his main purpose in life is to help anyone and everyone who needs him, whether they like it or not What makes his character work is that they portray his need to help as a flaw. He goes insane when he can't help anyone, he's ruined situations by explaining to the enemy that other characters going to return fire and they should all duck or by accidentally giving away the location of all his friends to a murderer in an attempt to be her friend. And what also makes him work is that most people hate him. His best friend Sylvia absolutely adores him but even she started out calling him a weirdo and trying to sell him off to the highest bidder. If they had just given Chloe a couple more enemies and had portrayed her helping as a problem instead of a reason to adore her she would have worked, even if she would have come off a little too similar to Wander. The point is, she could have worked but they were too lazy to make it work.

It really doesn't surprise me that this was bad. It honestly really sad to see all these shows that were once amazing slowly decay over the years-Simpsons, Family Guy, SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, etc. I guess it's just what happens to all long-running cartoons (though I will say SpongeBob has actually been improving lately thanks to the return of Stephen Hillenburg). So is no one going to mention the fact that Timmy has 2... no. 4 FAIRIES? He gets Cosmo and Sparky, Chloe gets Poof and Wanda. Problem solved!! And Also... the chart of shortage was pointing DOWN... if there is a decrease of shortage, you should have a surplus of fairies, it's a double negative. -_-

@cornerabba29479 жыл бұрын
This is a self-insert fanfiction. Think about it. Chloe is WAY TOO overpowered (HELL, FREAKING LILA AND OGLA FROM HEY ARNOLD WERE MORE TOLERABLE THAN THIS GIRL. And the writers were fully aware of their Mary Sue status and gave them realistic flaws). There's barely any comedy. Poof and Sparky don't appear in this episode (proving that their entire existence is useless) and this episode defies ALL the laws made in the show's canon since 1998. (Yes, 1998. I brought the Oh Yeah Cartoon shorts into this.) Hell, it just forgets Abracatastrophe in which Jorgen says that generally godkids would've revealed the existence of their fairy godparents in the span of one year (which is why there shouldn't be a shortage of fairies) AND it's been said over and over again that fairy godparents are assigned to the most miserable children on Earth and Chloe is no where near miserable.

How they could have fixed this episode: -Give Chloe actual flaws and not make her another Mary Sue. -Make this MUCH earlier in the series (while maybe having Poof off the bat or really early). -Make Chloe an adopted sister so there won't be any bad shipping. Would that be better?

Even the theme song is pretty bad. In the old one, singing is in harmony while the new one has singing that is clearly sung by a female and a male with both different tones. Also with the music, the old music was much more jazzier, with more snapping and instruments. In place of Vicky screaming "Twerp!" at Timmy, we have Timmy screaming "AHH!" which in my opinion doesn't work as Vicky spoke with the beat. The clips they used from the episodes did rhyme and go with the music, but they don't have them singing, which completely ruins the flow. Its almost like a YTPMV where they put characters who aren't singing but make it a song. Except, those actually sound good.

It's disappointing how my favorite show has turned into a sad joke. I loved this show when I was a kid. All they needed to do was end the show so it'd be remembered fondly by fans! Chloe could've been a decent and relatable character. What if Chloe seemed happy and optimistic on the outside, but deep down she's a stressed and nervous girl? I think that would've made her an interesting and relatable character! If they changed Chloe she could actually qualify for having fairy godparents!

I used to love this show. I stopped watching regularly somewhere between the introduction of Poof and the introduction of Sparky (although I ended up seeing the latter episode), partially because I stopped watching TV and partially because the show itself no longer interested or entertained me. I started watching it when it first started to air, and I was already a little older than the target demographic (I had recently started high school), but I still found it charming and entertaining. Hell, I liked it more than SpongeBob (although I had reasons to hate SpongeBob until a little after high school, but that's neither here nor there). When I saw Mr. Enter review this episode, though, I went and looked it up... and wished I had just left well enough alone. For the whole fairy shortage... that really needed more discussion, not just of why, but of better proposed solutions. As you said, there are kids within the show more deserving of fairy godparents (Chester, Tootie, etc), but things that kept bothering me: 1.) Why not make a rule that fairies can't have other jobs if they are needed to SERVE THEIR PRIMARY FUNCTION? Hell, have that rule already exist, you're constantly pulling new ones out of your asses, anyway. 2.) Wouldn't Chloe's introduction be a bit easier to swallow if, instead of having to share fairies with Timmy, it turned out she already had one or two of their own? Like with Remy and Juandissimo, only Timmy can think that the reason Chloe is so nice and perfect and loved is because of her fairy godparents and learn otherwise. Hell, maybe even make that partially true but find out that whatever thing that is making her miserable, whatever void she has in her life, isn't being solved by the magic of her fairies like she expected, something Timmy could identify with considering some of his earliest wishes. 3.) Like Mr. Enter said, maybe there wouldn't be a fairy shortage if fairies were allowed to reproduce. I mean, immortal creatures, I can see it being a rarity for population control reasons, but still. Let them breed. It already seems like Wanda and Cosmo are an anomaly of sorts for being married (is Jorgen still married to the Tooth Fairy? I don't know). 4.) Relating to that, Timmy is the only kid shown with fairy godparents that has TWO of them (besides Crocker and the others who previously had Cosmo and Wanda), and the only reason for this seems to be because they're married. If a kid can get by with one fairy, why not have one stay with Timmy and the other with Chloe? It wouldn't really be separating them, since Timmy and Chloe live next door to each other and go to the same school. They can spend time together and maybe have fairy pagers or something to let them know when their respective godkid needs them. I can see the idea of Cosmo being someone's only fairy being frightening, especially just Timmy's, but again, it's not like he'd be separated by miles or for long from Wanda. 5.) Or just give her Poof. Say it's important fairy training or something since Chloe needs a godparent, but not urgently. Give her Sparky, too. Then send them all away to Unwish Island or anywhere but this show. 6.) Finally give the show the sweet release of death it is clearly begging for by this point.

I was hopeful for Chloe in general. When the art was revealed, she reminded me of Mabel from gravity falls. Then the episode came out. I felt her introduction was forcefully. The writers broke the rule why kids get godparents in the first place. Timmy has fairies because his parents are awful leaving their son with a evil babysitter. Remy was the rich kid who had everything but his parents don't spend time with him. Chloe is too perfect in a crazy sense. Timmy seems out of character in this episode for no reason.
