Easy to fix. Nora could disguise herself and act like a relative from Sam or Carly and could ask gibby to the whereabouts of Sam and Carly. Gibby also doesn't seem to have much knowledge about the family structure of Sam and Carly. Also Nora should be angry at gibby for ruining her plan. To fix she would have set the theater on fire after leaving. Gibby could barely escape and warn Sam over the phone while Nora still thinking gibby was dealt with. Nora became over the time more psychotic in prison, which is why she wouldn't step away from murder.

The ONLY time I saw reference humor work in a Schneider's Bakery show was in the Drake and Josh episode "Drivers License." In one scene, Josh gets pulled over by a cop played by Erik Estrada. Not only is there no applause when he shows up, but the joke works where even if you don't know what CHiPs is (which a lot of kids didn't) it still makes sense in context. To kids who don't know the joke, Josh gets pulled over by an ordinary cop. To the people who know about CHiPs, Josh gets pulled over by a cop who played a cop on TV years ago.

I remember seeing this episode once while channel surfing and it was at the part with Gibby and Nora in the movie theater and I remember just sitting there with my jaw firmly on the ground, in total shock. Not only was it poor writing but it completely went against Gibby's character. If I recall, there was a episode where Sam and Gibby went into the restaurant career together and Sam defended him and fought for him against some people who were going to beat Gibby up; so I don't think he had any misguided feelings toward her. I just couldn't believe how dense the writers were to not be able to pick up that what they were doing was COMPLETELY messed up.

+Mateta14 I have not seen SotL myself, so forgive me if I have misconceptions, but the idea is that Hannibal is a cannibal murder they caught and imprisoned, and they're consulting with him to try and get a read on the serial killer's behavior, right? My problem is this parody doesn't just twist the personality, but the actual past portrayal of Nevel. Nevel was at no point outright psychotic, just incredibly petty and vindictive. There is no reason he should have anything to contribute to trying to figure out Nora's thinking. Wasn't there that one nutty chick from Victorious? Why didn't they make her the antagonist and Nora the Hannibal stand in? Stupid as the parody is in existence, that would make some amount of sense since both characters have the same thinking pattern (in this case, psychotic) in past appearances, and Nora has multiple motives for taking the role, whether it's her twisted obsession with the iCarly cast or an "I will be the one to destroy you" vendetta.

papershadow69 Don't worry too much (I can help correct any inaccuracies.) The best way to describe Hannibal is someone who comes off as refined, and incredibly intelligent, but has done a lot of horrific things. Hannibal was someone who fit in with a high social class, often throwing social gatherings, and had the wolf in sheep's clothing act down perfectly. A character like Hannibal Lecter is far too inappropriate to portray in media meant for anyone underage, and even then, I don't think any character from iCarly or shows in the same universe would be able to properly fit that role. I hope this explains it.

Wow...Silence of the Lambs?! I'm 18, meaning that I'm in that target range to where I can watch SOTL, but I choose not to because I don't like horror films. I have seen shows that have parodied scary films, but it has to make sense with the type of show it is. For example, Courage the Cowardly Dog had the episode where Muriel was possessed by a demon that came from her matress. It's a parody of The Exorcist, but that makes sense because Courage is a horror cartoon. Sam and Cat doesn't fit with the tones of horror films at all.

Agreed. Take "The Headband" in Avatar, for example. It's a parody of "Footloose", which, while bizarre, doesn't tonally clash with Avatar, since it's shown it can and has done silly/light-hearted episodes before. I just wonder what prompts any writer to do stuff like this. Since there's very little relation in tone between the two, I doubt this was a decision by the whole staff, but someone also should've realized this would feel incredibly fucking forced.

This actually makes little to no sense in any retrospect. It's like the writers totally forgot about the previous two episodes this episode is suppose to be a sequel too. In the first of the episodes "iPsycho" Gibby was the one who physically fought Nora, even wrestling her to the ground and everything. To save Carly, Sam and Freddie. In the sequel, he said "he's a forgiving person" and tbh in iPsycho Gibby wasn't stupid as he's portrayed here. Even in the earlier iCarly episodes he wasn't. But even then in the sequel iStill Psycho he was still on board with wanting to send Nora bad to jail. As for his relationship with Sam it honestly wasn't too bad from what I remember. Then only time I remember Sam doing anything bad to Gibby is that he became he next victim target when she dated Freddie. Essentially he was her new Freddie to bully and harass, which leads to his team up with Carly and Mrs. Benson in the episode iCan't Take it (which is an atrocity of itself) but I don't think anything even warrants the fladerization he got in this episode.

As someone who watched iCarly when they were younger, I can safely assure that Gibby would NEVER just flatout give Nora Sam's address like that unless the writing was sheer stupidity (which it was). In the original iPsycho, Gibby was the one who saved Carly, Sam, and Freddie from Nora, and if memory serves, he was PHYSICALLY FIGHTING her to save them. Personally, what I think should have happened in the movie theater and what would seem way more appropriate to these given characters is that Nora would first ask, and of course Gibby would say no, then Nora would attack him or something (since Gibby was CONSTANTLY getting beat and bullied at school in iCarly) and force him to spill the address. I mean it shouldn't reach the point where it's viewed negatively; I meant for it to be over the top and whatever so it could be viewed as funny. It would be WAY better than the stupidity spotlighted in the actual episode.

There actually is a way to parody adult centered movies and make a kids episode out of it. Spongebob did it in Season 8 in the episode Planet of the Jellyfish that's a parody of Invasion of the Body Snatchers because everyone was in character and it was funny to distract from the creepiness. It's pretty sad that an episode from Season 8 from Spongebob can turn out to be way better than a show in its first season.

The thing that makes Anti-Cosmo's Hannibal references work is that he usually follows it with a "whoops forgot my monocle" comment or something. So kids could just think he made a mistake while older viewers who possibly know the movie or adults watching with kids can get the joke (it doesn't work as much when Anti-Poof does it but that can be played off as just a father son thing). As for Hannibal Bean, as far as I remember he really only has one episode that he pulls a Hannibal Lector and it's the one where he is imprisoned in a glass box and uses deception and disguises himself to escape. And that works again because to kids it's not gonna register as a reference it's just...the plot, while older viewers will get it. Point being; THESE CHARACTER'S IDENTITIES AND THE EPISODES DON'T HINGE ON REFERENCES AND STILL MAKE SENSE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE.

I hate to be honest, but for Nickelodeon, the humor has always been about silliness and grossness for kids. Same with Nickelodeon back in the day. But here's the big huge differences that is the reason why Nickelodeon is suffering these days and just have too many live-action shows and barely any creation for nicktoons and gameshows anymore. There is no creativity on Nickelodeon anymore. Nickelodeon was so original and creative back in the 90s and early 2000s when there was variety of original nicktoons, sitcoms, and gameshows. Nickelodeon has really been dead af in my opinion since it rebranded in 2009. All Nickelodeon relies on these days are SpongeBob Squarepants, Fairly Odd Parents, & Dan Schneider shows, without those three, it's a wasteland. Matter of fact, it's already a wasteland to most of the people who remember the truly great days of Nickelodeon. The rest of the Nickelodeon shows are just online spinoffs, Dreamwork spinoffs, and video game spinoffs & that's it!!! There is NO ORIGINALITY or CREATIVITY on Nickelodeon anymore! Haunted Hathaways, Rabbits Invasion, Sam & Cat, Thundermans, Breadwinners, etc. are all unoriginal and are trying to hard to appeal to kids. You even look at nicktoons nowadays unlike in the past, notice how almost all the nicktoons are spinoffs off something. I know young kids these days will love these shows, only because they never experienced the classic Nickelodeon days and understood when Nick actually had original programming and creativity. But other than that, Nickelodeon has always been a kids channel for generations and the humor has always been similar either way, but better in the 90's and early 2000's because the bumpers and variety of shows were more appealing to the audience. Today, Nickelodeon lacks that variety and it's too unoriginal. Disney Channel is an example of a channel that has completely turned its backs on what it was originally created for. Disney has always been dead af ever since the magic and animation started getting replaced by tween pop music sitcoms geared towards girls like the channel is still doing today. When Toon Disney was around and the early Disney Channel days with Disney Afternoon, One Saturday Morning, and even some Disney Channel original cartoons at the time. There was still some live-action shows but mostly animation with that magic Disney feel to them. Nowadays, with Toon Disney gone and Disney Channel still doing its tween-bobby live-action crap. The Disney company has still turned its back on what it was originally created for and will continue to suffer.

The thing that always irritates me is the fact that Nickelodeon and Disney channel usually have that one good show in there somewhere (Korra, TMNT 2012 is decent, Gravity falls) that people love and gravitate towards. What this tells me is that there are at least some people at the studios who know and want to make good shows like what made them famous, but they're overlooked because the Execs want to stick to pandering garbage. It's like watching that one good game that comes out of a Publisher like EA that you know won't get a sequel or more support because they're selling Madden 2057 or Battlefield 8: Definitive HD Next gen High Octane Edition, you know?

Nick's Ninja Turtles did a parody of Nightmare on Elm Street, and I REEAAAAALLLLLY doubt kids are going to get the referances but.....they did it really well! They made it more kid friendly, but not dumbed down. THey do not bend any existing characters for the parody either. On top of that they had Robert England the guy who played Freddy Kruger to guest star in the episode! That is some serious dedication! It has great humor, and a great story! Seriously I highly recommend checking out the TMNT episode "In Dreams" it is a really fun episode!

Yeah. I liked Drake and Josh a bit more than Zoey 101, but I still enjoyed it a lot. icarly I liked originally, but it seemed to fall flat in season five a bit, but I still generally enjoyed it. Victorious had good acting and singing, and some of the episodes worked, and it was still enjoyable in earlier seasons, but flanderization hit this show HARD in the last couple of seasons and all the characters turned into characatures. I watch the pilots of every kids series that premieres on Disney, Cartoon Network, Nick, and previously the Hub. I could barely sit through Sam and Cat.

I started watching Sam & Cat when it first premiered. I thought that it wasn't so bad. Like, it had a really funny joke every so often. But it didn't hold my attention, and I stopped watching about 12 episodes into the season. It jots lost me, and I didn't care enough to watch it. I never even knew it ended until this review.

Oh, I remember Oscar the Ouch. Isn't child abuse hilarious?! Anyway, that scene where Oscar gets his head stuck in the toilet and Sam and Cat are laughing at it and proceed to flush his head (whcih would probably kill him) was possibly the cruelest scene on a kid's show that I've ever witnessed. OCM and A Pal for Gary withstanding.

I still think this episode was not as bad as the final episode. Dice goes to Phoenix to enter a hair contest to get his picture for a magazine well Sam stays at home with Nona. At the contest Dice loses the contest to a guy I thought was a girl(he had long blonde hair!) and Cat thinks it is unfair because he has a wig on. Meanwhile Sam is treating Nona like absolute dirt and even admits she is taking advantage of her because she is too lazy to do even the simplest things. When the episode ends the long-haired boy wins the magazine contest over Dice and Cat become mad and attacks him only to find out his hair is real and get arrested for assault. In the final scene she calls Sam and asks her and Nona to bail her out and Sam ignores her request and says "Cat will be staying a little extra longer but she wanted you to keep doing all you're doing with me". The series ends with Cat in prison and Sam treating Nona like a personal butler.

I’ll be back in… wait, what’s Sam’s last name? Gibby: Pucket. Or is it Puckle? Nora: got it, I’ll be back in as long as it takes to scroll down to the P’s in your contact list. Gibby: that’s oddly specific, but appreciate it! (Sits back down as Nora runs off, then has a moment of realization) Wait!!! She took my popcorn! Random moviegoer: just sit down and shut up! Not only does Gibby have NO motivation for what he did but consideirng that he was the one to rescue everyone in iPsycho and actually got in a genuine fight with Nora in the climax of that very same episode in the process of said rescue it make sabsolutely NO sense he wo uld trust Nora.

I have a little thing to add to this rant to: The defanion of psychopath is someone who has no empathy and feels no concern or emotions (other than anger) towards others, witch Nora, has emotions towards them, if she didn't she wouldn't have tried to keep Carly there forcing her to be her friend. She is more obsessed and stalker like in the Icarly ep. I feel like she could be a sociopath, but not a psychopath

Even a larger parody of a thing the kids wouldn't get/that is inappropriate can work- if you do it right. Rugrats did that a few times, with a film-noir parody episode and the opening of Rugrats in Paris is an extended parody of The Godfather.

To be fair to this episode, Neville being a parody of Hannibal Lector actually makes sense as they have much more in common than just being crazy. Both are pretty respected in their field (Neville a highly regarded web show reviewer, Hannibal Lector a very well respected psychiatrist). Both have lost a lot of credibility for their actions. (Neville for yelling at a girl, Hannibal for....well you know) Both are extremely arrogant. Both are highly skilled at manipulating people to their advantage. Both are extremely intelligent and are capable of conducting very brilliant (if petty on Neville's part) schemes. Hell, even Nora kind of fits as a Buffalo Bill parody due to their weird speech patterns, obsessive behavior, and psychotic actions. Of course nothing else works but to say that a parody of SotL with these characters makes no sense isn't exactly true.
