If Cosmo's the pregnant one, than... This episode raises SO many questions... Here's a few: Where is the baby suppose to be inside of Cosmo? Inside the stomach, like legit? Where ever the baby is, where does it come out? There are only so many natural exits from the body. Are fairies' genitalia swapped from humans'? Because that's the only way I see that last question being answered... sort of. Is the only way to make fairy babies through wishing? ...Never mind, I don't want that answered. Aren't fairies immortal? Couldn't that lead to over-population? Is there a fairy-version of the story of Adam and Eve? How long does it take for a fairy to grow-up? They have to grow up, otherwise all fairies would be babies, does that mean fairies grow extremely old without being able to die? Fairies have to be able to grow old without dying otherwise banning fairy reproduction would make fairies go extinct, right? If fairies live so long, and if fairy babies can cause natural disasters, could they have been the ones who making the dinosaurs go extinct and causing the ice age? If a fairy baby is born, does that mean a anti-fairy baby is born simultaneously? Clearly not, otherwise Anti-Poof, aka Foop, would have been born right then and there. If the anti-fairies want a fairy baby so baldy, why not just wait for the anti-version of the fairy to be born? Do they not wait for the anti-fairy baby to be born because anti-fairy babies aren't as powerful? That's somewhat confusing... We've seen that fairies can be related through birth (Mama Casma, [Wanda's Dad who I forgot the name of]), and if fairies don't die, does that mean you can meet your Great(x25) Grandparents? That would be a big family reunion... Going back to the Adam and Eve thing, if that's true, does that mean all fairies are related? That also raises questions... If male fairies get pregnant, does that mean they also get periods? If the male fairies are the ones to get pregnant, does that mean female fairies are the ones to get them pregnant? Can fairies actually... do it? If they don't... do it, and the only way to get fairies pregnant is through wishing, and only male fairies get pregnant, do female fairies have a purpose? Another thing, if they don't have a purpose in reproduction, what's the point of their gender? To determine if they'll be stupid or naggy? And so many more questions can be asked, from this episode alone...

I really don't like the concept of Poof, mostly because it gets rid of whatever was left of the original concept of the show. What I liked about the original Fairly Oddparents episodes was that Cosmo and Wanda came in as somewhat surrogate parents for Timmy since his real parents neglected him to go out and do adult stuff. I mean, that's the whole point of Fairy Godparents, is that they come in to try and make a miserable kid's life better. At least that's what I got from it. But then they started changing Timmy's real parents from simply being oblivious of their son to being goofy idiots, and almost carbon copies of Cosmo and Wanda. Gradually the reasons for Timmy being miserable faded away, until now the only remote reason he is slightly justified in having fairies is because of Vicky. (And if that's the case, why doesn't Tootie have fairies? I mean, Timmy even says it himself in an episode, he only has to deal with Vicky sometimes, she has to deal with her EVERY DAY.) Now, with Cosmo and Wanda getting a baby, it not only gets rid of them being surrogate parents to Timmy, but also gets rid of the idea of Timmy being a surrogate son to them. I wish the show would've built on the concept of them filling the space Timmy feels his real parents don't instead of them just being his magical wish-granters with a magical baby and a magical dog.

I still like the show, but Poof is not really my favorite character. He just keeps repeating his name ("Poof, poof!"), and he looks like a volleyball with limbs and a face. I do like his anti counterpart (Foop) though, he's like Stewie Griffin (except that he's square-shaped) kind of. Also, Sparky isn't really doing anything for me. Some of the characters have gotten funnier in recent seasons, like Jorgen and Mr. Crocker, but for the most part this show has been showing it's age lately. It's pretty amazing that Butch is keeping this show going, while canceling "Tuff Puppy" after a season or two. If you're not familiar with "Tuff Puppy", you could find it pretty easily on Nicktoons. Another series of Hartman's (Danny Phantom) at least wrapped up in a satisfactory manner. Hartman would have done well by wrapping up the series with Wishology. That would have been a good sound-off to the show, with Vicky and Crocker working with Timmy, and Timmy kissing Trixie (although I would have preferred him kissing Tootie instead). But there's obviously people still watching this show (like me) and I guess you give the people what they want.

O.K. So, this is super late, but after reevaluating, I really hate this episode because on further inspection it's the patient zero for everything else that happened to the Fairly Oddparents: - the dog + Chloe and all the sidelined background characters - the constant, overwhelming sexism masquerading as jokes - the complexity addiction with the lore and Da Rules - Cosmo and Wanda outright loathing each other - Nickelodeon attempted to advertise every episode after this as a massive "event" even when it didn't warrant that I could go on, but those are the things at the top of my head.

Them having poof was the most stupidest thing ever. Like you said, they already have Timmy who is pretty much their son and he' was already a handful. Why the hell would they think having a baby would be a good idea when Timmy is already pretty much their kid? That thought always rung in my head when I first saw this episode and it was at that time where I threw in the towel to the show.IT was then I felt the show went to the dark pit of no return and obviously things got even sadder with the introduction of that annoying dog. You know, I could forgive all this if they actually aged Timmy but nope, there's no chance of that ever happening. I also agree with what you said about how they should have saved the Poof angle for when it was time for Cosmo and Wanda to leave Timmy. Like I don't know, maybe Cosmo and Wanda feel like retiring from being a Fairy God parent and want to raise their fairy child back in Fairy world and the buildup could conclude the Fairy Odd Parent show. That would have made for an awesome series finale I think. Anyway, great review. I pretty much agreed with everything you said.
@decadentgamer31088 жыл бұрын
***** Eh it's debatable for people who have different reasons why they felt the show went downhill. I just stopped caring about this show when I started watching constant reruns of the same episodes on Season 7. Ever since then, I gave up not only on Modern Fairly Oddparents but also the the show as a whole. Nowadays, I just don't give a crap about about The Fairly Oddparents. It's loud, annoying, formulaic, stupid, and mean spirited. This show has not aged well compared to Spongebob Squarepants and My Life as a Teenage Robot. I've rewatched Total Drama Island recently on DVD and that show has held up phenominally amazingly great. But, The Fairly OddParents, that show has aged like milk, but the rest of the shows I've mentioned aged like fine wine.

While I do believe that the comedy in fairly odd parents was greatly declined starting with this episode and so on, although not as much as when they introduced Sparky and [ugh] Chloe, but it did introduce a lot of interesting concepts that, in a way, kept the show a little more interesting for a little while longer, but seriously they should've ended it at Wishology. Concepts like Cosmo and Wanda having to be actual parents instead of just godparents, and Timmy essentially having a little brother to be more responsible for and to share his fairies with...wait, I just realized that Poofs role in the show makes Chloe's role even more pointless than it already was, no wonder they got rid of him when she came along.

I started getting bored with Odd parents when they basically ditched the original premise. Timmy was supposed to be a kid with a shitty life like that kid from diary of a whimpy kid; who cant get the girl and was abused by his evil babysitter who his parents dismiss in disbelief. The newer episodes dont feature tootie, Vicky or Trixie at all as major plot points anymore - but more importantly. Vicky is irrelevant unless that annoying Marc-chang is on screen.
@Nintendoman17 жыл бұрын
The point where Timmy wishes for the baby is honestly pretty bad writing. They had to make a joke that he forgot to put the rule in which isn't funny in the first place and kicks off the whole plot of the episode. If Jorgan wants the get rid of babies all together why didn't he put the rule in in the first place instead of a joke that he forgot. Really bad writing.

I don't really mind Poof's introduction... I mind the fact that FOP seems to really be ignoring continuity anymore. Like Cosmo suddenly having a brother or being related to Jorgen.
@nicholassansouci28409 жыл бұрын
The "Poof Series Finale" is a good idea, but it would break continuity because we learned that Timmy would have Cosmo and Wanda for a long ass time after watching the "Traveling through Television" special, where in Maho Mushi (I think, the Japanese arena fighting show) he would have them until he's 18 or something. Although I'm not sure how much the show really relies on continuity because Timmy just wishes everything "back to normal" at the end of EACH episode.
@MilanPofCrotoonia11 жыл бұрын
Agreed. On top of that, Poof didn't come close to causing the goddamn APOCALYPSE in his first appearance. He's nothing more than a clear sign that Butch and his team are just running out of ideas for the show and want to kill it dead in it's tracks. Oddparents needs to die quick and painfully, and it better happen soon. Getting sick to fucking death of it.

I dont find this episode that bad. I think the running jokes are annoying, everyone except timmy seems to be written somewhat poorly, and i dont like some of Timmy's torment or how everyone blames him for things this episode (that last part i mentioned isnt THAT bad), but a few jokes are okay, the plot is decent enough, poof is decent enough of a character, and it was cool to see timmy be a badass and save everyone this episode. Sooooo it is passable to me, but i def wouldn't watch this episode over and over again. It gets a meh. Overhated imo. I can see ppl disliking it (i dont personally dislike it), but it isnt really worth being hated imo.

This episode was just awkward; that stuff with Cosmo being pregnant should not have happened...ever. Because really think about it - this implies that Cosmo's Father, and Wanda's Father (Big Daddy) were the ones who "gave birth" to their respective children. But oddly enough, my main problem with this episode is, it was just...boring. I personally don't mind that Poof was added to the cast - he's actually had a few interesting episodes. And it's interesting to see how the Status Quo on a series that's lasted this long can change. But this Episode had almost NOTHING of substance. And worse than that, it just feels like filler. It's almost like the special could've been separated into two different episodes; the way the episode started has nothing to do with the second half of the plot. The villains were Non-Entities, and their reason for being in the plot was just SO contrived.

This show has gone through a particularly interesting and painful type of seasonal rot. Unlike Spongebob or Family Guy etc. which have fladerized most of their characters, FOP feels the need to introduce new, totally unnecessary and usually annoying characters to the main cast to keep people interested. As well as flanderizing its plots to the point where the charm that was found in the silliness of the older plots is lost in pure stupidity.

To be honest, I don't think Fairly Odd Parents got worse in the same way that Spongebob did - in my opinion, FOP was always a hit and miss, much like Spongebob since season 4. FOP was an original and hilarious show back in the day and it was SUPER popular and loved by all ages. 1998-2006 were the golden days, but in 2008 it really went bad. I still don't get why so many people still like new Spongebob, it is overhyped. Old SpongeBob was awesome and never gets old just like Pre-Poof FOP episodes. I don't quite recall the name of the episode, but it's the one where Timmy becomes a girl so he can find out what his crush, Trixie, likes, and because Cosmo and Wanda make fun of him for being a girl, he wishes that they'd also switch genders.

At least poof is quiet. Sparky (from fairly odd dog onwards) won't SHUT UP.

Well I personally like Poof, I liked Fairly Odd Baby, I thought it was one of the funny episodes. I never saw Timmy's Secret Wish but wanted too, the episodes with Sparky are OK but not good. So I'll agree that the show was good until Sparky came. I liked Tuff Puppy, nowhere near my favorite show but I liked it.

Personally I think so too. I mean this is a bad episode, and I really hate Poof, but this is definitely not the worst episode. I thought the one where Timmy's parents adopted Poof as a "Super Baby" and completely neglected Timmy and acted like he wasn't even there was way worse than this.

It ruins the whole Freudian concept of Timmy being the ego, Cosmo the id, and Wanda the superego :^(

I still think the one where he wished he was never born was pretty awful.

The show was bad enough before Sparky, but when he arrived, all hell broke loose and the show became even shittier.

And the season after they bring in the dog, they give Cosmo and Wanda another Godchild for some reason.

Something to note, for that episode that adds that almost perfect girl in, it is said they have a fairy shortage... I wonder why...

oh, oh, i knkw why. the fairys dont fuck babys out of eachother

Pilox Planet Idea. Timmy says "I wish there wasn't a fairy shortage anymore!" or "I wish there were more fairies!", but then Jorgan would probably pull another rule out of nowhere or something...

@Greeny55Five Yeah. Jorgan might just pull out some random, unnecessary rule out of the blue.

Honestly, even though this movie probably marks the point when the Fairly Odd Parents jumped the shark, I'll never be able to hate this movie. For all its flaws, I've always really liked it. Consider it a bit of a guilty pleasure.
@lightgai12 жыл бұрын
if this is the worst FOP episode, then what would you rank the episode; Crocker Shocker. The reason is that this episode shows that the fairies are sadistic. In a short summary crocker is cured of his obsession via hypnotism, but uh-oh it turns out the source of the fairies magic is from his obsession. so it's bad enough he had a horrible childhood and got humiliated on the internet, both being Timmy's doing. now we have the fairies taking his obsession and misery to fuel their magic.

Honestly, this movie ain't that bad mediocre IMO but the episodes after this that have something to do with Poof really bothered and bored me. Some were good most bad. Only fairly OddParents episodes that I liked after this tv special was wishology trilogy. IMO what killed fairly oddparents for me is when Sparky came in. Already the show isnt as good as it once was but Sparky just completley killed the fun of watching the show.

I agree this episode has it's flaws i was unsure a bit about Poof but i'm starting to like him more and more. As for Sparky, it might be awhile until i spot a good episode from him. He does do some things related plot (sometimes not) as for Poof he did do something especially in Wishology for kind of saving the day with the rest of gang. As for today's seasons it's not as bad as the previous 1-2 seasons. Either way i really love this review of this episode anyways.
