I hope you two realize what a joy you are to those of us who get the privilege of watching your videos. I also hope you realize what a wonderful life you have there in the holler away from the fast paced life of the city. Each time I watch your videos and listen to you talk I have to confess being envious of your lifestyle. That is the lifestyle my parents and grandparents lived when I was growing up. What a wonderful life it was! Oh, that I could go back to those days and enjoy them again! 😊

A garden is a perfect place to spend time with friends and family. Out in nature, growing fresh veggies, and using God’s green earth for what it’s meant to be used for. Hard work, but the rewards are great!!! 🌽

The best food in the world comes from your own garden. There is just something about watching your garden grow, tending it, and harvesting. The food just tastes better. Its a unique pleasure and satisfaction eating what you have grown. I think of my Mommas vegetable dinners with hot biscuits or cornbread and homemade pickles and chow chow.....the best eating in the world. Love your videos. Thanks for continuing traditions that are such a part of the southern way of life. Y'all are precious people!

Good job! Y’all are a great team! Reminded me of my child hood in the garden… Saturday morning it was all hands on deck ( 5 of us kids) and a lot of evenings after daddy got home from his day job ( auto body repairman) we’d be in the garden … hoeing, pulling grass and weeds, sometimes watering, and then a lot of picking and hauling it back to the back porch . Fresh garden vegetables for supper every evening, tomato sandwiches whenever we wanted, cucumber salad on the side of our barbecue meat ( daddy love to bbq) Good times! Good times! Sitting on the front porch shucking corn and kinfolk and neighbor women helping my mama and she /we’d help them at harvest. It was a joyous event in the community… sweet iced tea and bare feet ! cutting up and just having a good time with it! Canning a whole lot of it and sharing with the elderly and needy . We were so blessed! Those were the days ! Thanks for sharing this and bringing back the memories! ❤️🙏

Our HOA made us take out our 6 corn plants we had planted along the outside of our fence years ago. Our neighbors had twins so we all had a race to see whose plant grew the tallest. All our neighbors loved seeing it. Out came our plants 😢 Well we moved about 2 minutes away and now have our acre we can plant what we want and have chickens. No more mean HOA! Love yalls videos reminds me of my childhood and family and even now we have a small porch garden it’s so rewarding :)

Subscribed today! Been watching since a little before Corie and Austin got married. Didn't realize it was so easy but here I am. My wife and I love your channel. The life, the music....it all brings us joy to see. We also have twin daughters. They live in my deceased parents home within walking distance of our house on land my parents gave us. We're both close to retirement and plan to do gardening. Used to have a few cows but got rid of them about 4 years ago. Want to grow our own vegetables. Y'all have prompted us to a simpler life. Tipper, your "I Am From" segment inspired me write my own story. It shined a light on how richly God has blessed me and led us in life. Matt, we had a Kubota L3302 delivered Saturday and I've already moved a bunch of dirt! The 45 year old Massey Ferguson finally gave up the ghost. Thank you'll for bringing us into a saner life. God bless you! P.S. Thank you for introducing us to Outshine.

Wow, that is a big garden. My Dad would have loved having a garden like that. When I was a kid and we lived in the country he had a big garden, but years later they moved closer into town because it was easier on them for getting to and from doctors and stores, but even then my Dad had a small garden in their back yard. He loved working in his garden and my Mom liked freezing a lot of the things that Dad grew. I'm sure they probably saved our family money by doing what they loved doing. Love watching your videos; they often remind me of things my family did.

Miss Tipper, I find my garden tools at the thrift stores - the GOOD old stuff, and sometimes the REALLY good OLDER stuff. I hear they can be had at garage sales, too, but I don't get out that much. I clean up the rust (if I'm willing) and give wood parts a coat of whatever is handiest (walrus oil or deck treatment-type stuff). The really good, old wood can look pretty pathetic, but feels stronger than the newer lightweight wood of recent years. When did this start to change, anyhow? The '80s? Thanks for another great video - nothing like enjoying a popsicle while sitting in a tractor bucket. Have a beautiful day and God bless!

My father used to use a chalk line to plant every seed he ever planted. He would also cut a stick pre-measured by him. For pole beans, it was 4 inches , for corn, it was 6 inches, for potatoes, it was 10 inches. You drop the stick then plant the seed. I thought he was being overly meticulous until once everything came up and got to looking lush, and then we would have people driving by our house so slowly to admire the perfection of our garden. And when Dad saw weeds in the garden, he would tell all of us kids, "I gotta hoe that will fit your hand just right!" And he would give us each a hoe of various sizes which did fit our hands "just right"! LOL!!!

So exciting to see the big garden finally planted, and it's going to be fun to watch it grow. Matt's so sweet to do those special things for Corie & for Katie for Mother's Day. In south Georgia where I grew up, Silver Queen was an early summer crop, and it soon got too hot to grow it. We preferred it on the cob, because it's so watery that it didn't get thick enough when cooked off the cob. Then they developed that bicolor variety, I think it's Peaches and Cream, which is like having Silver Queen and a starchier variety on the same ear, and that makes it perfect for cooking off the cob. Tipper, I hope you and Granny as well as Katie and Corie had a wonderful Mother's Day. ♥️
