Dabuz was playing so good this tournament his Rosalina was taking games left and right though I wonder how he would've done if he went Olimar since it has beaten Nairo's ZSS and small characters like Olimar usually get out of ZSS's up b. Good game though it's the closest he has gotten to beating Nairo with Rosalina and it shows how much effort he put in preparing for this tournament.

***** He would still be good. Top players have such good fundamentals that I don't doubt most of them could easily pick up other characters if they tried. Dabuz actually thinks Rosa loses to a lot of the top 5 characters which is probably true considering hes the only Rosa player even close to winning big tournies. He doesn't play her for her high tier status he said that she is just really fun for him.

I don't get why people don't think rosa is 2nd. Dabuz plays him like every rosa main I have ever met and he's 3rd, according to the rankings. This playstyle almost resembles a level 9 rosalina computer. Even if he did lose to nairo, rosalina cannot be overrated if Dabuz and others made it so far just playing lame. Maybe if a few more people get good with her nintendo might just give her a brain. Just a thought.

+kraptv Dabuz does not play like a level 9 CP lol. People don't consider her 2nd best because the other top tiers beat her. Dabuz has a strong punish game and he spaces very well. His aggro camp play style makes it hard for his opponents to charge in. Dabuz edge guarding is on point. He's pretty good with the "Gentle Luma" Kos. His knows how to effectively camp when Luma is gone. Dabuz makes it far by making the most optimal moves and playing strategically, like most competitive players.His" lame" playstyle got him to the top, unlike other Rosalina Mains.

+GDGuitar95 "all the other top tiers beat her" well first of all, ness, and second of all, most top tiers have bad matchups with certain mid tiers, i.e shiek vs pit. Rosa however, although she has too many bad matchups to be considered second, is likely in so many cases to win her good matchups. Keep in mind as well that smash is supposed to be an accessible game. Besides actual competitive play, Rosalina is poisonous to the whole purpose of the game. Not very easy to learn but get a few techs down and you are almost invincible to anyone who is a bit worse than you or are just playing a non-high-tier character. One could argue that shiek is a better version but looking at the big picture, shiek has more technical and read-oriented combos/kill moves. I definitely see rosalina receiving a major nerf before shiek; even though everyone and their mothers play shiek in this game, that only means that there are just too many people who are bad with shiek, and u haven't seen that much proof of REALLY bad rosalina players. I'm not saying that they don't exist however. The reason I said that Dabuz looked like a level 9 cpu is only because how defensive he was playing: there wasn't enough spamming and a bit too much running away, that's all. I respect Dabuz as being a top rosalina player and still actually being able to do crap with other characters. Just my analysis despite my lack of in-depth knowledge of the playstyle.

That could be said about any fighting game in general. Of course you can stomp someone if you are more skilled than them and your opponent picked a lower tiered character. Also do you honestly expect Dabuz to play aggressive against Nairo's ZSS? Nairo would demolish Dabuz if he played aggressively.

+GDGuitar95 Not necessarily: in pretty much any situation a lower tier can have a good match up with a high tier, rosalina simply an exception. There are too many cases in which many of the high tier characters lose a match because they weren't focusing while playing. With Dabuz' roll, jab, and up air playstyle, it really deletes my belief that rosa mains actually have to focus during a match. I don't expect him to play aggressive against nairo, but for God's sake, he needs to play differently at least. The only reason that Nairo won is because he was mixing up his options, completely opposite to what Dabuz was doing. Hell, I've seen LUIGI players with more mixups than Dabuz this match. Good mixups regardless of the tier is the reason Seagull 2-0'd the best smash 4 player in the world. Seeing that Dabuz made it this far with the least mixup ability I have seen in a major tournament makes me anxious of what rosa could do if she would actually be played with some thought. The extreme security that rosalina has with even the lamest utility makes her the most broken thing in this game.

First, if Rosalina is "broken" more people would be playing with her and winning Nats, but this is not the case. Rosalina is not a brain dead character and people are not just throwing out moves out of nowhere. Rosalina is a pretty technical character and Dabuz is playing the match up well. Look up how Dabuz beated Vinnie and ESAM at BH5. Also Tiers are based on Tourney results, not exactly how good a character is.
