Healthcare in Italy. My son had conjunctivitis (pink eye). Copay in America $75 paid 3 euro at a pharmacy in Italy with no insurance help. No doctor visit cost - the pharmacist is able to assess and give prescription meds. Pink eye is obvious of course. Just a tiny example.

Interesting show! Living in Crete we here have had issues with bullying and racism. My daughter suffered greatly during her years in school here. Several times I came close to having several instructors reported and having embassy personnel paying them a visit. Mail,service in Greece is poor and so are deliveries from Amazon. We live in an unincorporated section in a village a few minutes outside of the main city. We are on a private access road so we do not have an assigned address. Most items we order from Amazon or EBay have to be drop shipped to a friends shop. As for driving, I still use my American license with an international drivers permit. Reason being I have to enter a military base run by America for business and they prefer an American citizen enter with an American license. Most road signs are kind of designed after German road signs so I have no issues with them since I was in Germany for several months working with a contractor so I learned German signage way back many years. Language is not a problem considering I am of Greek parents and the better Half is Greek. As I like to joke with friends that I am a Greek hillbilly since I can speak the language but can not read or write it, well really I can read most things but writing is still an issue. It sounds like Italy has their things together when it comes to health care but wanting to charge a flat fee? Will that fee go up as one grows older? Government hospitals in this country I would consider as third world institutions, the government here does not put money into the system so many hospitals may have good doctors but very limited supplies. For surgical issues we deal with a private hospital in Athens. One of their top surgeons worked in the states at a well known medical facility where we resided and was a member of the Greek church in the community. My wife worked in the laboratory for the same hospital so we know him quite well and his references for specialists has been excellent. Most Greek consider the prices too high but for an American we find the prices quite reasonable in this facility.. Keep up the good work! We'll be watching!

Fiorella & Aiden, there’s no shame in not having kids, I’m an awesome aunticorn, I couldn’t have kids naturally and Lee never wanted them so when we met it was a perfect fit as there was no longer pressure for me to fall pregnant or go through ivf and no pressure on him to deal with his allergies to babies, he’s like Aiden he’s ok when they are toddlers 😂 ❤Shell 🇦🇺 Ps I’m in love with Marvis ITALIAN toothpaste, I can get it a Myer but it’s $16.95 per tube AUD, I guess I’ll be taking a spare suitcase when I come over for a holiday. 😂

Well kids grow up and some times forget to call their parents or visit. Can't believe someone asked that question, many people wind up divorced and it gets even more complicated. You didn't miss anything and happiness is what matters. One question came to mind for the lovely Rossini couple, is one of you of Spanish heritage or speak Spanish. It's important to practice Italian continously in order to be part of Italy, I thought but for people who speak Spanish, we tend to mix and change phrases and it's normal. My biggest concern is to be in a good area as my daughter comes to age. The retirement here in the US and affordability for people who work changes continously. I'd like the opportunity to have an air bnb commercial property in the meantime and visit. I absolutely love Italy when I visited a few years ago
@rossinniandco

I think the more you put yourself out there with the language the quicker you learn. The problem is if the people don't give you the patience one needs when speaking a new language, then we can revert to being shy and not trying. Knowing the Spanish language helps, but as you say sometimes it makes it more confusing 😂

Just subscribed , admittedly after watching many of your videos. My excuses are/were : You pop up on my feed anyway. The other is your subs are never displayed in logical order. So, the more subs you have , the more difficult to find the channel you're looking for. I'm sure my first reason is the primary reason viewers don't bother to subscribe. After watching a couple times , the algorism always displays the channels you consistently view. BTW You two are the best in category imo !

I have a question: I think sometime last year you mentioned that you were originally from Colombia. Where in Colombia are you from, and are your ancestors from Spain or Italy? I am from Panamá, Panamá. My grandmother was born in Cartagena, Colombia. I have never been there but I would love to visit. Also, where did you learn Italian so fast? I’m amazed at how well you speak Italian.
@rossinniandco
@rossinniandco 4 ай бұрын
Hi. I'm from the coffee region. Cartagena is beautiful! The culture there is very different to one from where I'm from. Usually people from the coast are more open and the people where I'm from tend to be more reserved. Both areas well worth visiting! I learnt Italian at university in Australia

Is that hill climb assist something that you can disable while you're driving? Years ago I was working in South Africa when I had to take my test there was a manual Golf. It was the first time really that I had driven a manual on the "wrong" side of the road. As you know with the wrong hand. None of that bothered me so much, but it had some auto start stop feature that kept causing me to stall when I was pulling away. I clicked the button to disable it and all was good. After the instructor left I turned it back on and figure out how it worked. Just a thought! Have a great day

You might be able to disable it but it's the Driving School's car so I don't think they'll let you fiddle with it

I am delighted! Questions for the writer. I'm not sure what you write, but I'm a writer (working on a crime novel and a personal memoir but have written about poker for 20 years). When I eventually do move to Italy, one of my biggest concerns is internet access (especially if I choose a small-ish town). The other concern is about VPNs, as Italy blocks poker information from outside of Italy, I believe. Do VPNs work well?
@rossinniandco
@rossinniandco 4 ай бұрын
Hi Jennifer. Internet is usually very good here! There are small towns like ours that have Fiber and now we have internet that is way faster than what we ever had in Australia. For what we use the VPN we haven't had issues

I have a belated real estate question for you both. How close to the sea can I get if I have, let's say, $100,000.00 to spend on a property in Abruzzo, Molise, or northern Puglia with a population of less than 20,000? It has to be in an authentic Italian village/town and not in a modern community.
@rossinniandco
@rossinniandco 4 ай бұрын
It depends on how big you want the house to be, how updated, etc. But I would say about 15 to 20min to the sea. Right near the sea it tends to be more expensive and often mainly apartments. We have a few videos of properties in Termoli, so that might give you an idea: 👇 kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJylZWmEq6ycnc0si=WZ4i46Jcr9isYaTP 👇 kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHK5poOQlMmaiNksi=6hwP7UunnwZw0ey3

Guglionesi or Montecilfone, which would you choose for an early 40’s couple who want a smallish town feel yet enough vibrancy too live? Close to great trains and bus access to termoli or Pescara. Thanks guys, you are great. Also do both these towns have super markets for normal shopping?
@rossinniandco
@rossinniandco Ай бұрын
They're both very different. I think it would be best to come over and check what vibes with you. I believe that any choice is a good choice because at the end of the day it is up to the individual to create a home and their community. If you have your own car they're both the same distance to Termoli. If you use a bus, Guglionesi is 10min less

I think the practical test is only in Italian since I doubt the motor registry person speaks any other languages. Perhaps up North near the border with Germany and France you can get one who does

The hubby and I will be going to Sicily this Fall. We are also thinking about moving to either Southern Italy or Sicily. I'm currently waiting for my Italian Citizenship to come through. We currently live in the US. Do you think you will ever go to Sicily to show homes? My mom's grandfather is from the Abbruzo area, Tocco da Casauria and dad's side, Naso, Sicily. Hence 89%Italian. Haha. More southern Italy than northern.
