As Japanese who was obsessed with Brit pop 2 decades ago, I was so shocked by seeing Adam rickitt on smash hits magazine for the first time. He looked beyond handsome. Even my sister who is not interested in western men at all fell for him. Here I am in England now and I can confirm that Great Britain is the country that produces the most good looking men on the planet.

What happened with Kav and Nick is similar to what happens to alot of US Teen Idols, when one Idol's popularity ends, they look for new boys. I think of the Kids I remember growing up with. Bobby Sherman, Lief Garrett, David Cassidy, Shaun Cassidy, and God knows so many others. Not too long ago I thought Aaron Carter was on his way to being the next big tragedy but thank god he got helped. Some of his problems had to do with the fact that he was Robbed by his Parents and he had to declare Bankruptcy so his Parents wouldn't go to Prison. His Father Bob is now dead. Then his Sister Leslie died of a Prescription Overdose. He was also misconstrued about saying he's Bisexual and his "New" Manager robbed him that he found out about on a TV Show Life Or Debt where he realized more money was going out than coming in.

I wonder if "Not" Winning Pop Idol was a blessing for Gareth. In the US alot of folks have won but their Career never took off. Taylor Hicks didn't hit the big time, now he's doing Broadway as Teen Angel in Grease. Katherine McPhee (The Runner Up) is now engaged to Superstar Record Producer David Foster. Also what was Katie Price thinking hooking up with a 17 Year Old Boy. Man these UK Tabloids make the US tame in comparison sometimes.

You know what's a quirky co-incidence. Shalamar were bought together on Soul Train in the 1970's by Don Cornelius and Jody Watley got her start as a Dancer as did Jeffrey Daniels and Howard Hewitt. Former Member Jermaine Stewart had the Hit Record We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off that CLEA (Popstars: The Rivals Non Choosers) that consisted of Chloe, Lynsey, Emma, & Aimee recorded.

Never ever ever put a UK Lad in LA. They will tear you apart! Andy Taylor of Duran Duran thought he'd be a big solo star after the success of Duran Duran & The Power Station and he got a Million Dollar Advance. He recorded an Album tanked at #86 in Billboard which was quite embarrassing considering that he was part of a number one album not too long ago called Seven & The Ragged Tiger (The Five Guys & Their Two Managers at the time Paul & Michael Berridge). At least Kav is trying. Florence Ballard formerly of The Supremes never tried to get her life back on track and her Three Daughters Michelle Denise Nicole Renee (Fraternal Twins) and Lisa Marie still play The "Motown Did Momma Dirty!" Card.

They were very brave to do this. In the US Members of Past Boy/Man Bands got together to form a Group called Sureshot and it was a disaster. Rich Cronin LFO (Lite Funky Ones) who were managed by Lou Perlman who never had the same success that The Backstreet Boys and N'Sync had. Jeff Timmons 98 Degrees, Bryan Abrams (Color Me Badd) and Chris Kirkpatrick (N'Sync) did a Show at a Sports Stadium and got booed. The UK is more willing to give Pop Stars a Second Chance. For example the Kids who weren't chosen to be in Hear'Say beat them at their own game with Liberty X. Then again the UK Pop Scene is so different from the US. Even today, a lot of these Boy Band/Girl Group Icons from the past wouldn't get together and do a show. Too much anger, pain, heartache and disappointment.

Look at what happened to the 90's Girl Groups. Xscape, TlC, En Vogue & SWV. Their Downfall was just as bad and none of them have Recording Contracts. When you're main audience is hard core R & B it's here today gone tomorrow.

@Maria They were very lucky. I have nothing but mad love and respect for UK Boy Band/Girl Groups. Their downfall was just as bad as their US Counterparts. Since 2002 there really hasn't been a successful Boy Band Girl Group in The US. Nicole Scherzinger is more popular in the UK tan the US, and Justin Timberlake needs to come back big time bad. If it were up to me the next Boy Band/Girl Group in England should have past Icons talk to them and tell them that nothing lasts forever enjoy the Gravy Train ride for as long as you can. When New Kids On The Block were in their prime past Teen Idols from Les McKeown (The Bay City Rollers), Bobby Sherman, Donny Osmond, and Frankie Avalon gave them sage words of advice, have proper lifeskill lessons learn to do for yourself, don't get wrapped dup in the hype, and be very humble.

Could someone please tell me if any of these young folks had any social skills before hitting the big time. Jonathan "Jon" Knight admitted that after NKOTB ended he was a mess. He was depressed, hadn't come out, and he didn't know how to do anything. His life is so much better. He's happily maried to a fitness instructor named harley, he's a successful house flipper who has a reality show. Unchained Melody is a standard that became a rock classic like blue moon, i only have eyes for you, and la bamba (a mexican folks song). By US Standards, he'd be a washout/wipeout.,

Also with the exception of Justin Timberlake, no boyband icon was successful as a solo artist in the past 25 years. Lance Bass said in an interview that diddy allegedly told justin to drop those fools. ie you're the star of the group you don't need them. Never ever take a cash advance, because if you do and don't produce the goods it will come back to bite you in the @ss. En Vogue did it and they came out of it with nothing, and when the jackson five left motown nine months before their contract ran out they got sued for 20 million, joe their father demanded and audit for past royalties, and found out he owed because he took large cash advances without telling his family. I wish someone would tell these guys, one minute you're hot, next you're not you can be replaced in a heartbeat.
