The Big Reveal: Rust Assessment and Tough Decisions To Restore or Scrap

In the previous video I found the cheapest VW T4 I could find and purchased it. Today I got Craig from work to come round and help me with the removal of the interior. The rib bed was removed with the help of a grinder cutting off the heads of the bolts that had rusted and seized. I then took a closer look at the rust to try and get some idea of how bad the rust was going to be.

Good vans are hard to find so will definitely be worth restoring & this van could be worth a fortune when you’re finished. Don’t worry about the consumables because you will definitely get your money back 👍🏻

Break it and sell the bits. You'll spend more on panels and paint than it would cost you to get a better one, and that's not counting your time and the messing around.
