Fascinating - and absolutely invaluable in understanding Flynn; a much-maligned and much underrated individual. If he was "acting" here, it was his greatest performance. Thanks, videoarchives!!

Hard to imagine that in the closing credits, a producer named Merrill Heatter eventually went on to bigger things such as "Video Village", "Hollywood Squares", "Gambit", "High Rollers", to today's "Catch 21"!

Even as a game show host, Mike Wallace asked some tough questions!

Mr. Flynn was AMAZING! How anyone could know such trivial minutia about the sea is incomprehensible to me. In order to know such obscure information about seafaring he surely must have been obsessed with the sea from his early childhood. To the names Jock Cousteau, and Robert Ballard, we should now add the name Errol Flynn!

According to Wikipedia, this is the only episode known to exist today, unfortunately.

This originally aired live on February 5, 1957, at the time the show was seen on NBC's Tuesday night schedule [8pm(et)]- "ARMSTRONG CIRCLE THEATRE" (29:20) presented "Error In Judgment: The Case of Prisoner #16688" {starring Harry Townes} that evening [at 9:30].

Some 13 years later, Mike Wallace would team up with Harry Reasoner (the latter who leave CBS News for the ABC Evening News at the start of the 1970's) for a then-new CBS News magazine program called "60 Minutes" (which BTW is still on even as we speak).

Oddly, Jack Barry hosted this show early on, to bank on the success of, "The $64,000 Question" on CBS. This show was produced by EPI--the same company which produced, "Question", using much of the same production staff. "Question" was the show targeted by Barry and NBC with, "Twenty One."
