Anyone saying Emma is wrong for being quiet is probably someone who doesn't think before they act. She is sitting there, listening, and not listening to respond, she is listening to comprehend and understand. Ellen is just as savage as Meredith. I love it.
@katrabbit Жыл бұрын
That's because she started using that power she has inside and telling the writers she wanted Meredith to be a stronger woman and less of a cliche. You can see the change in her character through the seasons, and that's all thanks to Ellen making Meredith just as badass as she is. A more realistic woman. Unfortunately, she ended up leaving because the writers couldn't let go of the "will she?" "won't she?" of her love interests, and she just wanted Meredith to be able to have a happy life. But that's not the drama that gets the ratings, according to the producers. They don't want a medical drama anymore. They want a romantic drama, and that's where they focus now.

I love that Ellen mentions the crew. Because they're not on screen, they're often overlooked, but everything flows both ways, behind the scenes to before the scenes. People want to get into the behind the scenes as well but can't. Love that she looks in an area that's often overlooked. Same as her concern for her stylist of 12 years. Crew members are often overworked and underpaid because they're more "dispensable." Also Gabrielle Union's approving facial expression is like... goals to receive haha

I've heard similar stories from other friends that have worked on set as well . I actually interviewed one of them & will be putting it up on my society & culture website , www.thecnnct.com / Insta : @thecnnct .

Thanks, clueless. Ability to do the job better is the only factor in any normal business and the same goes for Hollywood. Colorblind is where we were headed but racism was falling to such a low level the Democrat politicians were suffering. Pretending racism is 100 times worse than it is is good for votes. Why do you think they want open borders ? Because Mexico isn't filled with White, educated Republicans. We would have the Great Wall of America with auto fire machine guns that is 80 years old if that were the case. The part you don't realize is the Republican Whites would be OK with it ! Wait your turn whoever and whatever ! At least 70% of illegal border hoppers eventually vote Democrap. They don't give a crap about what color. They care about their power and money and votes of fools. Look at what they do to cities. Democrap run cities fail and Democrats suffer. Why vote for someone that wants you dumb and poor ?

Emma: I love that she sat and really listened. She probably learned a lot from the other actresses experiences. She looked like she had the process the information but honestly? Sameeee Ellen: She had me nodded, screaming, clapping and crying because it really is like that sometimes. She hears how insecure the other actresses are to voice their complaints as to not come off as difficult and not to mention she is the mother of 2 visibly black children and it must be heartbreaking knowing that they won't be afforded the same privileges as you for something as arbitrary as skin colour. Gina: I love her in Jane the virgin but I don't like her in interviews. She tends to speak over people and make them feel shitty for not being as assertive as her. She was great in this interview. I wish she would be more empathetic to non-latinx people and especially afro-latinx. Gabrielle: HER SMIRK HAD ME DYING. I was just as relieved as she was when Ellen spoke up because I too noticed that it's always the black woman speaking up and being perceived as difficult. All in all, this was a great exercise in communication, solidarity, transfer of knowledge, listening and sisterhood! Great actresses, even better people

serpentinefireball yes this should have been a five person panel with an Asian woman or other minority not currently represented. I think Emma on this panel is important addition *because* she didn’t say much. We tell people to listen and learn she clearly is a great example of doing just that. I have always been fond of cinema and have done a couple projects here and there but never on something I get to call my own. So definitely not for the wrong reasons. Listening and taking in what others have to say and keeping it in mind while you walk around the world is what is going to make the world a better place (which is what most of us want). Loulou Willis She’s not that famous. She’s a has-been. That matters in Hollywood. She’s not gonna get paid what Jennifer Lawrence gets paid because she doesn’t have anywhere near the demand, and that means she doesn’t generate buzz and revenue. Things have to sell for there to be money to pay. Monique doesn’t sell well. Maybe as an extra on a Tyler Perry movie. And that’s why she gets paid what she gets paid. Denzel doesn’t have any trouble getting paid. Dave Chapelle doesn’t have any trouble, either. Neither does Oprah and she’s a fat, ugly woman of color just like Monique. So, it isn’t the world against Monique because she’s black, fat or ugly. It’s the fact that the people have spoken and they said they’re not interested in movies/TV shows featuring Monique. Womp. Womp.

usehername And? Just because you were great at one time doesn’t mean you’ll always be in demand. Coolio won a Grammy, VMA, AMA, Billboard and Kids Choice award back in ‘96. Doesn’t mean he can go pull off a sold-out stadium tour today. No one really wants to see that. Monique isn’t talentless, she’s just not hot right now. She might come back. Probably not. What you’ve accomplished in the past doesn’t mean you’re owed that demand and marketability forever.

I love this interview they spoke so beautifully and eloquently and Ellen Pompeo is absolutely killing it. It didn't feel like Emma meshed well because she is a generation behind but I think it was important because she was listening and learning and hopefully will be able to put these messages into practices at a younger age, things that Ellen only now feels comfortable doing and that Gina and Gabrielle are only now beginning to talk about. My only problem is that whilst this was a wonderful interview, what Ellen said at the beginning about being out of the loop with 'normal' people is 100% true. This bears no impact in the real world, these women have power, caucasians so much more so and I'm glad women of colour are starting to find their voices. But 'normal' women and people of colour and minorities don't have this. In hospitals and offices and schools and shops there's is no such thing as the face of the show, people will be replaced, people do not have that power. Things can possibly change in Hollywood and I truly hope they do, but then there is truly a divide between Hollywood and the real world. Changes in Hollywood cannot & will not translate to real world changes, in the world where people truly are suffering.
