Main issue with Ragnar is when you have to perform DD duties and are severely out spotted. Backing up an actual DD is great but when I'm the only DD on the flank and the nme DD figures out there's a ragnar and pushes with help, can be brutal. Ragnar played more like a cruiser has worked OK but not always an option. Looks like they put the thing on the thing and came out with a Ragnar that takes up a cruiser slot. Pretty smart.

yep i agree, this thing is a good supporter of DDs, and once everyone is dead it can go to a more aggressive role, ragnar is kinda the same to me since the conceal is so bad

Yeah all those high spot DDs are kinda ok if you need cruiser, but are bad if you need a DD and mostly you need DD cos you have some cruisers in team already.

I'm grinding ranked just to get the last few thousand steel I need for the Svea. I think you're right, Svea is the new Smolensk. Get it while you can. She's a monster light cruiser.

@@joedanker3267 I don't see how it is the new Smolensk. The firepower is not the same, lacks hydro and the smoke is short lived. Also it doesn't seem to take as many citadel overpens as the smolensk. At least from the games I've seen.

Svea is not similar to Smolensk at all. Way lower dpm (albeit much better pen), and a lot less fires per minute. Smolensk is for farming big numbers, this is for farming WR.

yeah to me again i think this isn't really a cruiser IMO, i know a lot of people want to use it like a light cruiser but for me i like to play it like a DD, that's just me but yes i also agree with others saying this is not a smolensk but another type of HE spammer that does it's own thing with radar, quick smoke...therefore i'd like to hear how you guys would play it. Thank you!

you forgot the originall small cancer the belfast smoke radar now regarding black it is long duration radar smoke combo not short plus the increadible combination of radar and small. concilment which black has.That is so much broken

Black is easy to play around if you are a competent DD. Black has one thing going for it, and that is the smoke and radar combo. But if you position in a way that you are ready to kite, you get enough time to leave the radar range when he pops smoke (as it takes time to deploy). The main strength of the black is in its zoning power when it has both radar and smoke available, and that drops pretty far down once he has used that combo. Black is in no position (against a decent gunboat or something that outspots it) to deny areas once the combo is down.

@@samuelhakansson6680 with all respect seems you are not know the subject black in very universal to any dd against gunboats you just utspot them waiting for the moment when he will be the most valaunarable to attack and no smoke can save that dd cause of radar secondly against lower concelment ships you have again radar to find them plus black has much more dpm than any other ship which can outspot him plus the 30sec radar mean that that dd propably will not get from there alive if he is sailing to you

Regarding now svea one thing i am concern no hudro also i saw the ap dpm is better than he same as the lushun otherwise a nice plymouth with he and longer torpsi might take it i have the 3 op steel ships as about the austin not so much interested i have permanent reload booster on the colbert Ps i want to see svea side in my druid i could say 10 to 15 seconds for the kill😅

haha a druid would melt this thing if you're full health, but yeah no hydro is maybe an issue but you're so far back in smoke it may be ok, just don't sit too long in smoke, Thank you!

You make a big mistake comparing it to DDs instead of cruisers. Cruiser to cruiser comparison would have been much more helpful.

yeah you're right, the only thing i can compare this to is smolensk, otherwise not a very tanky cruiser, thanks for your thoughts and input, it handles like a smolensk and bigger ragnar cruiser so really just toxic HE spamming, outside of that no armor or tanky like other heavy cruisers. It has smoke to separate it from other light radar cruisers like Worcester but again i don't play cruisers as much. let me know your thoughts, Thank you!

Plays like a destroyer but you can't win games just farming on smoke and being almost outspotted by Zaos. I will keep playing Smaland.

Wargaming is sacrificing new players to satisfy old ones. This is just as stupid and OP as all the other radar/smoke ships. Hard enough for an experienced player to play DD around and new players will get wrecked by it. This is bad for the game and will cause the player base to continue to shrink.
