We need more help in mental health and not tell kids that they can be whatever they want to be. having listened to many young people who have detransitioned, I found the whole thing very disturbing in how they were failed by so called professionals to go along and mutilate their bodies. there is big money to be made from young people and no safeguarding to protect them.

Sex predates civilization. It is binary. It is not subject to one's opinion about their identity. "Gender" is bracketed by Masculine and Feminine. It varies depending on one's developmental stage and societal norms. However, a male can never become a female. A male can never undermine the benefits of being male in sport and other areas.

Children under the age of 18 should get a rudimentary understanding of the "birds and the bees" and be taught how to say no to any sex until they are over the age of 18. Why this is no longer common sense is beyond me.

Yes, they can opt out of national curriculum but I'll bet there's a law around discrimination in employment, and with children /parents. Now, let's see the opt out school opt out of national curriculum but stll prove /maintain nonbiased curriculum of their own making

I'm not so sure about telling kids they can be whatever gender they can be. Surely it would make more sense to educate them that some people are trans and explain what that can mean in respectful terms. Teach about not bullying trans people alongside homophobic bullying. Usually the biggest barrier for trans people figuring out that theyre trans isnt not knowing that they can be, its usually not knowing that trans people exist, and that it's okay to be trans. Giving them resources if they feel affected by it or like they may be trans. Alongside all the other education about male and female puberty, sexualities etc.

I would also agree that I can't imagine teachers doing a great job of this. In my national school, an outside person (no idea who but I imagine they were professionals) came in to teach us about puberty and sexuality. It wasn't perfect, in fact, girls only learned about female puberty, and boys only learned about male puberty, which I think is a bit ludicrous, and there was no mention of gay people. If a professional came in and taught them these kind of things to all kids plus about gay people and trans people, I feel that would be enough. I'm not really sure what some of them were talking about with "gender theory". I thought some people are trans and others aren't - that's not a theory, it is the truth.

One of the guests on the panel was saying that it is up to teachers to present gender ideology to children because the parents might be teaching them morality based values. Parents need to be allowed the freedom to teach their own children their family values. And parents need to know EVERYTHING their child is being taught in school. It is not the job of the teacher or anyone else to assume the role of parent of someone else's child.
