Can't stop laughing at 9:49 with Hammond's expression of marginal at best suppressed terror being momentarily replaced by his reaction to Jezza saying Shoestring is street legal. Then pointing out his reason of concern, naturally, the jet engine behind them. Also, the seating arrangement. Hamster was just kind of shoehorned into Shoestring between Jeremy and James.

I know it's Top Gear and not the Grand Tour but I always think fondly of Geoff, their electric..."car", the 2 mph jet powered amphibious vehicle, the mighty HoverVan, and Clarkson's P-45, the smallest car... in the WORLD.

For me, the most impressive thing they did on TG was launching the car (a reliant Robin?) on a rocket. That was just bloody bonkers that they were even allowed to do that 😅

@@widkin oh you mean that time they turned a Reliant into a fucking space shuttle with an external fuel tank and booster rockets? Yeah that was pretty spectacular, I don't even care that it didn't work properly. It's weird that Clarkson wasn't involved in that, it seems like such a Clarkson idea, but presumably they didn't want him around anything requiring careful handling and precision engineering.

Just for fun; You would need a Trebuchet 1165 meters high to launch a car from England to France. That is around 300 meters higher than the tallest building in the world. But it's practically impossible because of air drag and would probably only go 1600~ meters or just under a mile.
