I disagree, the Hayes code in 1934 limited what could be shown in cartoons. This is why Betty Boop started wearing a longer skirt, and generally became less interesting. Although most Looney Tunes generally included references that a kid wouldn't get.

Yeah,really. Having a Japan x America supporting cartoon aproved by japanese students and putting a black character next to white people is so rasicst. In 1930s Max Fleischer cartoons were progressive in compare to others. But hey, now you can compare old cartoons to nowadays standards because why using your brain? Well I have to admit as soon as the censorship stepped in more questionable cartoons were made but you can't blame it on our two jewish bros.
@zuziiice89076 жыл бұрын
i think it was more of the fact that the people just didn't care about feelings as just about everyone is made fun of. for example the pervert circus owner, old man on the mountain, the tax collecter, fearless fred, even betty boop herself. the first three are perverted men who get what's coming, fearless fred is the muscular nice guy or the hero in the story ( that sadly replaced bimbo) that could also be seen as a self insert in the soldier episode, and betty is the damsel who always gets into bad predicaments with many guys there to save her then later on evolves with the times where she sometimes saves herself. there's also the steryotypes they make fun of in the episodes too, but it takes either someone really perseptive or really sensitive to be able to see every little flaw in the episodes for it. i just enjoy them for the story, never really pay attention to the details.
@zuziiice89076 жыл бұрын
sadly these days there is so much nitpicking that noone has time to just ENJOY the story. it's like a cake, you got your favorite icing, your choice of filling, even the extra rose on top. then when it comes to the door and ready to serve, there's the person recieving the cake and everything goes downhill. " why is it red-orange?! i wanted red!" note: more than likely it's probably a kid getting that cake. but oddly enough the line has become so blurred since the correcting started and now even if you accidentally sneeze, someone will lose their chill. :

Well from what I know Fliesher studios weren’t in Hollywood like Disney and they actually made the first sound and movement cartoon but Disney was recognised first. Fliesher (sorry if I’m spelling it wrong) studios stayed with slightly darker subject material (ie swing you sinners) where as Disney went into the children friendly section. Also when you went to see a movie you also got a cartoon and a news reel. But I agree that these do seem aimed at more of a children’s audience

Warner Bros murdered Disney's cartoons. They were so much better. I know who most of those names were. Max was involved in a lot of cartoons, including Popeye, too. The studios changed names a few times, or were taken over, but the voices, and major people still made the cartoons. Kinda like Mel Blanc, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, and a few others did almost all the Warner cartoons forever.

I'm a 90s kid but there's just something about Betty Boop herself rather than the cartoon that's just so calming. In fact she's become one of my comfort characters in a way.

Wow, the pre-Hays code Betty Boop versus the later works? Night and day difference. (Goes without saying which ones are better...)

Nah, Cuphead has color in it. Bendy is more likely a Felix The Cat, a Max Fliecher and a Mickey Mouse mix. To be fair Cuphead is more of a Mickey Mouse and a little bit of Max Fliecher mix. This comment wasn't made for gossip or argument so don't be starting any gossip and arguments about my opinion, it's only my opinion, not all people agree with what I say :/

In the title it says "cartoons for children" when really it was cartoons for older people aged probally 20+, this has got pretty depressing and terrible seens in like rapists and more. So this isnt a kids program.

I 💝 Betty boop. From her oversized head with the PAC-MaN eyes right down to her pointy feet. I used have Betty boop shirts, pins, I even have a Betty boop coffee mug. I think She's boop-dacious 😂
