Amazing! Suggestion for Gary: Make KZbin videos building up old bikes and talking history!! If he could do a video once a week, his channel would blow up!

So this is the man behind the "museum"! So cool you got to meet him,Kev! And that collection! Holy cow, looks overwhelming! He even has Julie Kintner's bike. She's still racing in the mtb scene. In fact she just had a race and podiumed this past weekend. Great stuff,Kev.

Really cool to see the man behind the museum. Not sure I understand the anger from some people though. Does he have more bikes than room? Yes he does but who the hell are you to judge a man that has given much back to the community. And while I'm at it can we please stop calling older dudes building big bikes "posers". Did you ever stop to think that men and woman of a certain age built BMX? Maybe we can't ride the way we used to but still love our bikes? Its no different than building the car you dreamed of as a kid. Lets just all enjoy our bikes however we see fit.

It’s so cool that Gary welcomed you into his home and shared all that with you. Like everyone else, my first impression is just WOW… it’s amazing, followed by a sense of that place must be overwhelming to walk through. Todd Huber over at the Skateboarding Hall of Fame Museum said that he gets his space incredibly cheap because it’s a non-profit. He might be a good resource for Gary to talk to, if he ever gets serious about displaying the bikes in a warehouse. And kudos to your son for a great job filming you guys too. Another great video 👊👊👊

Thanks again for the great video! I loved seeing the early BMX bikes but I would have loved seeing the mid 70's BMX bikes like the Yamaha Moto Bike (my mom bought me one when they first came out), the Kawasaki BMX bike (I remember Dave Clinton used to be sponsored by them), the Suzuki BMX bike, Gary Littlejohn frames, Webco, DG, Jimmy Weinert, FMF (my second bike), R&R (my younger brothers first bike), JMC (my brothers second bike) etc. What an awesome time we had riding. Those are the bikes of my youth. I loved that time! After 30 years of MTBing, I've been cruising in the 208 my gold and black Throne Goon 29er BMX bike and loving it even more! You and Bernie rock!
@cruisinginthe808

Yeah, there are so many bikes tucked in there that I really need to go back another time to try and see some of the older bikes in the collection. Seeing all of those bikes and parts really took me back to those same days that you shared, just loving every minute on my bike as a kid. I would get up early in the morning in the summer, hop on my bike and head over to Bernieʻs and weʻd be out riding all over the town all day and only went home when it started to get dark. The freedom our bikes gave us was something that we cherished. I think us older bike guys who loved it as kids still somehow kept riding. I bought a GT MTB right outta college and rode that thing for awhile. I still have it actually and need to restore it. Glad to hear you are rocking the Throne 29er and still loving it! Keep riding! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻

Be nice to see him.. donate his doubles to Chad at Powers museum… I’m torn when it comes to collecting to sell.. special when people get it from pros and then resell. But holding to keep history alive is what is needed. I skimmed through this just because I have such a hard time with selling. I work in the industry and I love bmx more then most but I also realize we need all kinds of bmx. I personally collect stories and try my hardest to keep the story telling aspect of bmx alive. Thanks for this insight.. was always curious what he looked like

@@cruisinginthe808 yes he does ! I’m not really a fan of too many brands. Thruster was - is my all time favorite !! I had a Thruster - Vanishing Point that unfortunately was stolen, show chrome finish with the blue sticker kit , blue Suntour 3pc racing cranks , blue Araya rims laced to blue Sunshine hubs , MCS block neck with Thruster Power Bars. Damn I miss that bike. I’ll build one someday before I close my eyes 🤣 my father worked directly across the street from the Thruster factory in Wayne NJ about 8 minutes from from my house. Only other brands I dig are the early Hutches & Puch (because they were made by Thruster ) Cook Bros , Race Inc and your favorite Kuwahara.

@@cruisinginthe808 my bike was stolen by a guy I was friends with. Asked to take it for a quick ride and never came back. He claimed he was jumped by friends of mine that took the bike from him because they thought he stole it and were bringing it back to me. Police found my number plate in his closet , they arrested him and he rated out the other 5 guys he parted the bike to , they all got busted. Went to court and the judge told the parents that they had to come pay me every month until the value of the bike was paid off. My local bike shop made a list of every part that was on the bike from the frame & fork set down to the chain , all sticker prices also. That was my last bike until 4 yrs ago my brother got me a 27.5 PK Ripper for Christmas.

Sucks that such great collection is being kept away from all bmx riders from around the world. These should be ridden and or displayed at bike meets etc.. but GAry mentioned who cares if they’re not complete, he’s not ridding them. Sad to see them just stored away. I’m sure there’s many hardcore bmx riders that would love to buy them and show them off, ride them, share stories etc…But then GAry likes to keep them away. But why? For what ? Greed? it’s a shame…

Total waste, he is not enjoying it either, to walk pass a mini sting and a The sting without any acknowledgement 😮 is not a collection is a hoard.

I think itʻs one of those things where the collection just grew and grew and now itʻs beyond what can nicely fit in that space. It would be awesome if he could get some help where maybe someone could rent him a bigger space at a decent price. Do you know of anyone in the area that could help him? Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻

I'm looking for an old 90s- early 2000s 20" Chrome Gary Fisher Mr Skinner fat frame dirt bmx, cant even find a picture of a fat frame mr skinner on the internet. It looks like the Gary Fisher Cleo Moto with the frame opening between the seat bar & crank. But I'd also take a chrome fat frame cleo moto..
