So I did some googling and looking at the map and I think the reason why Chongqing is the largest city is because of the difference of how Tokyo and Chongqing and is divided. Greater Tokyo could be classed entirely as a proper city (it's a single continious mass deep inland), but considering how it formed, it's made up of smaller cities. Greater Tokyo in my opinion is still the largest city, but only by 5 million. It's odd how many unknowm 20-30M cities China has

I visited Chongqing in 2006 and even then was blown away by how futuristic it felt. But it was also just so beautiful and unique... in between all the modern highrises are historic charming districts by the river built into heavily wooded hillsides... it's just unlike anywhere I've ever been. Well actually, China does have a great culture and friendly people like other countries, its just that there are issues with their government. Its like that with every country regardless Edit: I am aware I started an entire war in the comment section. I never intended to start a war. I agree with the OP that there are many interesting things about that country. I am aware that of course, China isnt as much as a cyberbunk dystopia that many westerners claim. However, its important to recognize there are problems with the government and that holds true for every country in the world. Maybe yes, you can claim people are satisfied with their government, but as long as they can fullfill their basic needs; they wont question anything else. The reason why other countries are facing opposition from their people is because they let the cracks slip through. I respect your opinion if you think the government is good. After all, it is subjective. However, be mindful and think before you bash on me and say I spread "stereotypes" or immediately compare to the US. I dislike people who act like there are only two sides to the situation - that I have to pick one side and get flammed by the other. I either have to side with one country and attack the other. Its easy for people to shamlessly press the like button on ad hominems and attacks You assume that I side with the US just because I say that, but have you even considered that I disagree with both of their political systems? Have you considered that you can still appreciate a country whilst understanding its flaws? Have you considered that I'm not even from the west at all? Even people from the east do understand there are problems with their government. You act like United States is the only country with big problems, when many countries have problems just as big as the United States. You just never hear about it. Japan may look "kawaii", but it has a toxic work culture and insane levels of perfectionism. South Korea may look amazing, but it has perfectionism problems and corruption from Samsung You also act like western media is the most evil and biased media, but even non-western media is just as biased, but in different ways. My point is that there is no such thing as "best country" or "X country does it better than anyone". Everyone has their good and bad moments and we should hold them to fair standards If someone sugarcoats how good the United States is and someone comments about "how the eastern media is simply too biased". You would obviously disagree, because you seen the homeless and corruption I do agree that the media can be biased at times, but just because they are does not mean legitimate criticism with evidence should be undermined

I'm sorry, but its not quite true that Chongqing is thelargest city in the world by population and area. Its because Chongqing is an administrative region that includes a massive area with many rural parts and small towns. When comparing just the urban populations, cities like Tokyo and Shanghai are much larger. Similarly, in terms of the actual urban area, cities like New York and Beijing are bigger. So, while Chongqing's administrative region is indeed vast and populous, its actual urban core isn't the largest by either population or area.
@HelloOnepiece
@HelloOnepiece Ай бұрын
Its a good example of why "largest city" is a meaningless comparison, as what we define as one city is not really consistent. Chongqing and Paris are the polar oppposites. Chongqing administration includes many rural areas as you defined, meanwhile Paris refuses to officially extend (like Berlin for example), thus the official city is deceively small tiny compared to the urban area. And tokyo is a whole another mess

@@Wolfremmi Thats exactly what I meant though, in case of Berlin they expanded its administrative zone, since this way it was easier to manage workers coming in from nearby villages. From Mainland China: Your video, because it featured a visit to a "commercial KTV," has gone viral on some social media platforms in Mainland China. People are amazed that you have "learned the core technology" (commercial KTVs are not for general public entertainment 🤣 Sorry, I can only say this much; others in the comments might need to figure out what I mean by themselves). It's clear that you did thorough research because I don't think an ordinary tourist would know about the existence of commercial KTVs, let alone how to get in 🤣.
