The really sad one is Ethiopia - they do not have a single sport they excel as (other than long-distance running, which does not count since they represent themselves there rather than the nation)... As a Filipino fan. Baskatball is my sport but football deserves to be better there even if basketball will be always number one. Football in general deserves its place in every decent sized country. But for the Philippines deserves to see a team in the WC for men’s or see better niche. I think there are regions that have decent love for football, but in Manila it’s too nonexistent or sadly stereotyped into this rich type sport which is ridlcious. Even in America, it isn’t known like that. I hope by 2030, the team can at least get another AFC cup and hopefully get a win and maybe 2028 Olympics. Hopefully some more local talent can actually get produced. We have had some talent like Neil etheridge and Stephan schrock, but they are fil-foreigners. We need to not just rely on half Filipinos but local talent. The program needs to just put more money and respect and I believe results can come.
