If you have electrical experience and know what you're doing its not that big of a deal. Most electricians work in hot panels and connect wires while they're hot. I mean can a hospital really afford to turn off its electricity, when you have patients on life-support? Even most HVAC technicians are working on hot circuits. Because most businesses can't afford to turn off the electric. I mean you can easily electrocute yourself plug-in in something to a receptacle, if you accidentally touched the prongs. Touching those wires are no more dangerous than touching an extension cord.

@@CW-xh8uw looks to me like he's touching the neutral wire not hot, so even if he touched the case he'd be fine. Maybe that's not what you meant, not sure. Absolutely no risk (in a properly wired intact circuit, I'm not an electrician don't take this as advice) of shock touching a neutral wire even if you contact ground simultaneously, it's called neutral because it's grounded to 0v.
@MikeMPharmaCyclist
@MikeMPharmaCyclist 3 жыл бұрын
@@CW-xh8uw well let's make it clear that I'm not an electrician and not giving advice on how to behave around electricity, just sharing my thoughts. What scares me is that you're worried there's people out there coming to KZbin comments sections to learn how to work around high current/voltage systems, don't you think that's a bigger concern than a random like me sharing my thoughts on KZbin? Lmao.
@MikeMPharmaCyclist
@MikeMPharmaCyclist 3 жыл бұрын
@@CW-xh8uw you have no idea what I know. 99.9 percent of the time touching a neutral wire is safe in a properly designed, non-degraded circuit. Am I encouraging people to needlessly touch neutrals? No. Am I clarifying that very likely the guy who built this entire system understands his wiring and that there's no potential difference between ground and the part of the neutral on the wire he's touching so he finds the risk acceptable and doesn't have a death wish? Yes.

I think he only runs enough miners to the point that he has no electric bill. Any more and he would run past his credit. During the day hes able to run the miners and generate enough into the grid so they run at night. If he adds more miners then he wont be able to run them at night without paying for them likely. I was looking into DIY 5KWh systems. Can get good ones for about 10k. They can probably only handle 2 rigs 24x7 though. This guys setup is much higher power. Nice things is that he has the land to add more.

@@shansen008 Thats if you're lucky enough to live in a state that has a net metering agreement where you get the credit. Some states have done away with it or are getting ready to remove it. from my understanding of selling back to the grid, it requires you to be on the grid, or grid-tied so if the grid goes down, you go down with the way it's all integrated. Hence why a lot of solar diy'ers are not grid tied. I could be wrong, but I know there are problems with the grid-tied systems not letting your system stand alone by itself during power outages.

$8k per panel. He has like 4 panels. Then he has about 15-20 devices in there and each device is around $3,000-$5,000 each. Then you have his hundreds of hours of free labor. Minimum $150,000 setup

That is not even close to what this cost to build. Guido is closer to it. Not sure why he is underselling his cost on this so much but just the parts would be closer to 100k than 8k. Put solar panels on your home and see how much that costs if you do it yourself, 8k is like 1 array lol.

So does electricity end up cheaper this way?
@oilerlord6513
@oilerlord6513 3 жыл бұрын
No. The value of a kWh is the same regardless if you generate it yourself, or buy it from the power company. People tend to believe solar-generated electricity is "free". It isn't. This guy found incredible deals (like I did buying my 41 solar panels on the used market), and also touted a Zero cost of installation, plus the ability to take advantage of big solar subsidies (in his area) to lower the overall cost of the project. For these reasons, people need to realize the implied very low cost of this particular solar farm isn't at all typical. Further, and given how he seemed to be guessing at the cost of his project, I think his numbers are off. I know my costs. To the dollar. No guessing required.

Good Job demonstrating different Solar Types and configuration. I have a 10 kw system attached to a 7.6kw inverter. Half the 10kw panels face East and the other half face West so you never get 10kw all at the same time which is great for the inverter. Peak summer i generate 60kwh/day and winter about 35kwh/day. Best banking power months are the winter months when the AC is off. Here in AZ. the AC costs are high and consume too much power. Rainy days hurt but AZ. is mostly sunny year round. My system barely supports two rigs.

I'm in Az too, Portal, and have 80 active panels, 12 more waiting to install. All microinverters. About 115-120 kWh per day this time of year. Do you really think it's an advantage having half face east and half face west?
@johngermain5146
@johngermain5146 4 жыл бұрын
@@portalminer8813 No I don't, but the majority of the panels are on the East and catch the morning sun. around 11:00 a.m. both sides of the house are hit by the sun until afternoon when mostly the west panels have sun. Remember, I have 10kw of panels and a 7.6kw inverter. It can't handle all the panels all the time. My house roof is ^ shaped and the sun goes over it left to right.

It doesn't consume battery. It's on coinmarketcap in the untracked listing. On the marketplace, there are already transactions for a value of $100 approx and when you just download the app you mine at 0.25 pis/hour. Use my code as an invitation. This is the video that brought me back to mining and gave me "the fever". Living in Hawaii, NOBODY mines crypto. We have the highest electricity rates in the country by FAR. The electric company out here is corrupt as all hell as well and slows down the rate with which they allow people to use solar at their homes the way this man does. They claim the grid cant handle it, but they make no real attempts to upgrade the grid either. That being said i caught the fever bad. I currently am lucky enough to not have an electric bill so i dabble a bit. Ive got 2 RX 580's (A nitro+ and a red devil) just running phoenixminer/nicehash 24x7. Getting an average of 61.3 MH/s out of them. One only uses 84w(nitro), the other is at 97w. I use same settings in my launch parameters, so not sure why they are so different. Still yet, i think thats pretty good efficiency. Ive got a 5600xt lying around waiting to be put into a system, and my radeon VII just arrived today. This is so addicting. my clocks for those struggling or new: i use afterburner to peg the fans at 70%, everything else default. Within the miner i set the cards up at: core 1130, mem 2200, cvddc@825mv, mvddc@875 both cards stay anywhere from 59-65C depending on ambient temp. No AC. Thanks for your vids man, im subbed and they have been a huge help. I wish i had found this channel long ago.

Love it! I live in SE Missouri where there are rolling hills in and out of town. This would be perfect!!! I just have two questions though. Putting in all that effort, and he didn't go with a sun tracking system for his panels? That makes panels 5-10% higher efficiency. I've even read about "smart" tracking systems that use the panel's GPS location so that the motor moves it into position each night to catch the very first rays the next morning AND compensate for the position of the sun based on the earth's tilt an all that stuff! I know he mentioned hydro-power in the last few minutes of the video, but there was no mention of using wind power as well. I wonder why?
