Saw the movie in the cinema, it was not my home cinema so that could be it. But the movie was very very mediocre, the definition of a one time watch movie. The last 30-40 min of the movie are by far the best. Altough the character background/growth if the adam driver character is actaully good. A good 6/10 rent once a 0/10 would buy ^^.

I think it’s generally understood that anything Hollywood-based with any amount of prehistoric creatures, whether it be movies about dinosaurs, or non-dinosaur, prehistoric creatures, not to mention everything that involves an actor or actress, is generally going to be in accurate when it comes to prehistoric life

When you said that Fasolasuchus had less osteoderms than similar landcrocodiles because of its size, which might have made him untoucheable to other predators, at first, this made sense to me, but - he too had to start small... Didn't he? Growing up in a pack, containing adults off course would have changed the situation completely, but that's probably quite unlikely :-)

it’s sad that Hollywood butchered the fasolasuchus here so badly, it’s way too big and fast, it’s body is too feline-like, it’s head is basically a generic tyrannosaurid, but most importantly, giving it a portrayal as an antagonistic monster to most people who just learned about it is such a cliche move that audiences likely wouldn’t be interested in it.

@evernewb2073
@evernewb2073 Жыл бұрын
...I'd imagine not that well if it really did lack flexibility in it's spine but the big question is how fast each of them takes in information and acts on it and how effective they are with their actions, part of what make hippos so dangerous is that they _know_ they don't really need to attack in any particular way, their whole body is tougher than almost every part of almost anything else's body so they are just as happy throwing a hip at something and breaking a few bones as they are going for a bite with those railroad spikes they call teeth. on the other hand they really _aren't_ used to anything else being able to bite them and only really care about large sharp objects like tusks or other hippo's with their own railroad-spike bites. they are walking piles of muscle and bone explicitly built to be dense enough to run in water all wrapped up in 3-inch thick skin serving as armor, as far as they are concerned if something that isn't another hippo bites them then all it really means is that they now have a good solid hold on that poor things teeth and jaw and it is about to loose whichever part of that structure gives out first, the damned things'll even do it to crocks let alone the lions and wild dogs.

Nice to see some love for the Arcosaurs. Some other giants that rivaled Fasolasuchus in size are... Prestosuchus at 5 to 7 meters long and 0.9 to 1.6 tonnes in weight, Barinasuchus 7.5 meters long and 1.7 tonnes and Saurosuchus at 6 to 9 meters long and 1 to 2 tonnes. Fun fact: with the exception of Saurosuchus as it shares with Fasolasuchus these are all widely considered to be largest members of their respective families and are all somewhat close to the enormous Fasolasuchus in size (8 to 10 meters long 2 to 3.6 tonnes)

I really want them to add these dudes to Jurassic World Evolution 2. Kaprosuchus, Postosuchus, the Primeval Gorgonops, etc. Would be cool as hell.

I'm curious, would you be interested in perhaps making a video as to why theropods grew larger than all of the Quadrupedal carnivores in prehistory?
@AgroAcro
@AgroAcro Жыл бұрын
They had some special adaptations like air sacks that allowed them to get bigger. The only other dinosaurs that had those same adaptions were Sauropods, and you can obviously see how big they could get.

I would also add to that last comment that there wasn’t very many big animals in the Triassic in general, and there wasn’t any reason for it to be bigger if it’s size was working.

Fasolasuchus would make an excellent terrifying ambush predator in any swamp or brush. With those huge thighs, light upper body, and powerful tail, this thing could lunge forward at lightning speed and hit like a freight train with teeth.

The largest four legged carnivore ever weighed more than t rex and and was semiaquatic. It was, of course, a species of deinosuchus.

You defy size by mass (weight) so deinosuchus dwarfs all of these but was not very terrestrial , more semi aquatic

The animal in that worthless Jurassic Park wannabe is over 50 feet long based upon the stature of Kylo Ren. And if it's the last day of the cretaceous then we should be seeing Tyrannosaurus Rex or a Triceratops.

I wonder if the fact that it moved on 4 legs instead of 2 enhanced it’s speed compared to other dinosaurs? Or if it was simply too heavy to really gain any sort of momentum or run anything down? Just curious 🤷🏼‍♂️🤔

Based on the leg-under-hip plan as well as the speed of modern crocodilians, I’d guess it could be quite fast on land but would probably lack endurance
