Sooo hyped about Stormlight. The magic systems are fascinating in all of Brandon's worlds, but Roshar in particular offers so much worldbuilding, making it interesting even if you have no magic at all. Plus, the little things we know about the system sound pretty interesting.

Shadow of the weird wizard is one im excited for. Its the kosher version of shadow of the demon lord. The boons and bane system is just so smooth. Roll a d20 +/- boons/banes and DCs being 10 just speaks to me Plus, its very 5e adjacent so if you know 5e, you can easily play this game. The mutliclassing solution with paths. The builds seem interesting.

You're probably right about these being the biggest. Sadly, there's not much coming out that I'm super excited about. Just the new edition of Pendragon. But who knows? The indie scene tends to drop stuff without much warning or fanfare, so there might be other stuff coming that I'll be into.

Their is a shift in ttrpg and i am exited too see all the new games coming out RPG fans get redy for the best era in ttrpg Cant wait too see whats next (Play what you want too play and enjoy the experience with your friends dont let anyone stop you from having a good time with your friends)

With you on D&D, still love to play it and hoping the "new" edition will have some interesting additions, one thing thats nice is someone is always /sharing/ D&D books. Really stoked for Daggerheart, I haven't seen anything about Stormlight but now I'm intrigued. I love how much MCDM sounds like a drug, and it seems to be cracked with fun mechanics. We already know DC20 is gonna be an interesting take.

If you like having your DCs already on your sheet then check out some roll-under systems. In stuff like the recently released Dragonbane if you have a 12 in a skill, you succeed if you roll a 12 or lower. In other words you always know that your chance with that skill is 65%. And since each weapon type is it's own skill in that system, that goes for you attack rolls as well. Leads to super quick roll resolutions, it's great. (EDIT) Tho if you're gonna check out that system do be aware that the quickstart doesn't really capture the full scope of the game unfortunately, just the bare bones :/

My top game for 2024 is Cloudbreaker Alliance. It has been in playtest for the past year (the free public playtest is still available). It has been officially released although right now it is only available for purchase through itch (I received my copy through backer kit, I had never heard of itch until he put his game on there). I think he is adding it to drivethru rpg soon. 2d6 counter apocalyptic setting. Easy to learn with inherent multiclassing and unique lifeforms along with some familiar ones that have a different twist. Combat and exploration skills are distinctly separated so being good in combat doesn't affect your roleplay or adventuring skills. Weapons and damage spells have a base damage and you add the excess (number over the targets defense) to your base damage for total damage.

Also only 25.00 USD for a 350 page pdf with monsters, lore, player options, and more. That is worth it for the setting and lore alone (in my opinion).

Personally, im worried for MCDM as the game progresses in level. Its so 4e adjacent that it seems like it will suffer the same faults 4e did. Specifically later levels just becoming slogs because you have so much going on in your kit. At level 1 you have nearly too much hp and rounds take a good while at least from the playtests ive seen. Whats this going to look like at level 7 or 10? I prefer DC20s approach to the solution MCDM came up with. Eliminated Damage roll instead of attack roll. Instead of complete negating the "null state" if you truly want to get something done, you can by giving yourself adv. Plus DC20 has found a solution to off-turn player engagement, at least for the martials, with defensive maneuvers.
