I’ve been a watcher. I’m terminally ill, something the size of the gold you’re panning, is trying to kill me. I’ve always wanted to sit by a river and pan. The ‘gold fever’ is real, from your enthusiasm and the hope for one more pan full of gold. As a former police officer, I’ve seen drug users searching the carpet for a ‘rock’ they may dropped. Alcoholics, tipping that bottle for the last taste.

Love your videos Dan, and they’re really inspiring me ! I live in Willow Alaska and i’ve been morbid obese for well over a decade.. 8 months ago I was 700 lb and bedridden. Since then I’ve lost 240 pounds and I’m walking again. I live in Alaska and used to prospect when I was a kid with my dad but haven’t since then, but now thanks to channels like yours I’m getting gold fever again and looking forward to getting back out in this beautiful state and hunt for gold again ! Thank you for your good nature and awesome content 😊

I FINALLY confirmed hard rock gold in NJ! It was just two tiny pieces from a little stream in the mountains, but it was CRYSTALLINE gold! Meaning, it had to have recently weathered out of the native rock, which in that area is a complex mix of EVERYTHING since it's a geologically tortured area where the plates collided and tore apart several times. It's part of the ridge that stretches into Odgensburg and Franklin Furnace.

Dan: The double stitched knee pockets of your trousers...Cut a piece of rubber floor padding, fold/compress and feed it in the bott vent...expand it out flat....built in knee pads.. I was shingle roofing when I married my first wife. she took bath towels cut up and folded abut four layers thick and sewed them into the area just below the knees of my Levi jeans. Could not see them from outside but man did they feel good for working without the straps of regular knee pads cutting into the back of the leg. As the jean material wore though she would sew a patch to the outside. Did not look fancy but got a lot more life out of them while still being as comfortable as anything else I had used. Working piecework I made a lot of money that way.

I was watching an Australian made video a few days ago in which they were using heavy machinery and metal detectors working on old timers gold mines. They were finding fist size pieces of gold, one of which was +/- 75 ounces. Just thought of that and hoping that someday you'll get such a large nugget on your Pickerton claim. I really enjoy and look forward to each one of your video's and also the one's with Jason.

A lot of those Boulders could be moved with a small hydraulic bottle jack or even an old scissors Jack from like a Toyota or something which would be relatively light to carry around I moved a lot of heavy rocks with the scissor jack which actually works better than the hydraulic, most of which only work vertically where as the scissor jack will work at any angle, just a thought. PS really enjoy all of your content

Hey Dan huge fan just curious could you do a video on. Like when you find gold in a spot how to know if you should dig it out or move on because I’ve found like 10 specs in my pan but didn’t know if it was worth to keep investigating or if I should move on to find more specs or flakes in a pan? I’ve found like 20 fines in a pan before but from watching so much not really sure thank you for the great videos!! Learning a lot from you!

Haven't really started my day, despite being up a couple of hours. But I get to watching videos and forget to eat or take meds. Yesterday I went out to a brewery and did a reunion of my high school. The whole school. There were probably 40 people tops. I mean, I'm 70 and I was probably the youngest person there... I'm in Texas and we had a cold front yesterday, the warmest it got was 71, and that was about mid-morning. It was a blowing 60 something, then the rain came. We had one hard cloud burst during the reunion, but we were in a covered area. When I drove home - a 30 mile trip - I did hit a couple of light rains. Then, about 9:30 the sky opened up. I was glad I was home. I brought the old dog (15) in. Right now it is 60. I know, I hear you "But 60 isn't cold!" Lets remember in Texas we have already hit a low 90s! (I'll try to figure out the centigrade. 60 F =15 C 90 F =32 C)

28:15 - To the left of your thumb there is something shiny and gold looking. Is that gold or simply a mineral which looks similar? I only ask because it's about the size of something which could have fallen through the mesh size you are using. Also at 28:38 - There are some beautiful green stones in the pan. Do you know what those are?

Hey dan, maybe a dumb suggestion but how about making a long tube so you can reach out into the water and try sucking from random cracks/etc while standing on dry ground? Might take a bit of thinking on how to get enough vacuum power from a milwaukee battery setup or something but maybe something to try. Maybe a lift pump setup with foot valves internally then you could just pull and push to pump on it like a yaggi but you dont have to pull it out every time.
