Yes, they sold both those Honda 600 models at 1:54 in the US. The Honda 600 sedan (yellow one) and the Honda 600Z (green one) were the first Honda automobiles sold here. (The Civic came later in 1973). The public was so used to “Honda” ONLY meaning motorcycles that these two Kei cars were always called “Honda cars” so people would know what you were talking about. That trend of ‘Honda cars’ lasted into the late 1970s.

My favorite kei is the Daihatsu Copen. I had a 2008 while living in the UK and fell in love. I was crushed to learn I Couldn’t bring it back home with me when it was time to leave.

@@Waybeforethefame I'm not sure honestly I know the K11 platform had a lot of cars sharing the same platform some were just restyled like the figaro and some custom coach built cars by Mitsuoka some cool some not so much I always liked the one called the march box.

In the UK we don't have any restrictions so JDM cars have been imported he from new most under 10 years old. The Nissan Figaro by the time they are 12 to 15 years old they have rusted like mad . God Suzuki Cappacino are expensive in the states they were sold here from Brandnew like the Honda Beat , Daihatsu copen & Mira TR-XX . Quite a few Honda S660 have been imported from brand new id say they are by far the nicest sports kei cars . The Autozams are also very expensive i know of 3 for sale between £12000 and £14000. When Daihatsu copens get to 20 years old which the very oldest are 02 . JDM fans should buy them from the Uk they can be bought from £2500 in kei car 660Turbo or non 1300cc 90bhp form. They have leather heated seats electric windows electric metal folding roof , cruise control etc.

That Honda at 5:15 is the first Accord model, from about 1976. Before that Honda only had the Civic for sale. (The Honda 600 models last year was 1972 and the Civic started in ‘73). The first Accord only came in 2 door hatchback. It was basically a bigger Civic.

I agree these are awesome... my foremost of many questions is, in rural area, who will work on these when needed (brakes, belts etc) ? Some places where I live won't even work on JDM cars. Do we need to be DIY mechanics to own one of most of these old school marvels?
