The biggest MultiVersus tournament with a $100,000 prize pool happened at EVO 2022 hosted in Las Vegas. Talent from different platform fighters from Brawlhalla to Super Smash Bros., as well as traditional fighting game specialists participated in this newly released game's tournament to see who can take advantage of the 2v2 genre and take home the prize. Rewatching 23:45 I finally understand what happened: Mirrorman puts down a safe target on the exact spot that RoseJ is combo-ing NAKAT into, causing him to get send down at the end of the combo. I want to get into MultiVersus even just as a spectator, but it just looks so weird and floaty. None of the hits feel like they have any impact. Also, even though I'm sure I could get used to it, having so much info stapled to the characters is off-putting to me. Maybe it's better for the players, but having it all constantly moving seems like an odd choice when watching - especially when there's portraits of the characters just hanging out up top doing nothing.

you can literally set up the UI to look identical to smash. and the hits defenitely feel impactful and have good feedback if you're actually playing. personally i always felt like smash was just some kids banging their toys together and doing anime stuff and it always felt incredibly lame. i never liked how smashes and the c stick and stuff works or felt and i hated how you have to be some kind of videogame super amadeus to be able to recover like at all ever without getting spiked and ledged for all of eternity. you ever notice that most smash pros are ONLY pros at smash and dogshit at every other game? there is a reason for that.

I mostly only saw the last day of EVO. And the chat was 50/50 talking about Tekken during KoF part. By the end modders just started erasing messages with that keyword. I think it's kind of sad - KoF finals were great. Don't get me wrong, tekken top 8 was amazing. But like, show some respect dudes!
