If memory serves, Faust's story is that he was a doctor named Dr. Baldhead who, due to thinking he killed a patient in surgery, went mad, and was a serial killer during Missing Link. However, he eventually finds out that she was actually offed by Zato-One of the Assassin's Guild. He then sets himself into exile, horrified by what he's done so far, and eventually comes back as everyone's favorite crazed, bag-headed physician. After that, he does all he can to atone for his sins as a murderer, and hopefully beat the crap out of Zato along the way. As for what happens during the events of Strive, he exerts himself massively to help save the day, so much so that he burns himself out and dies, and the playable version is his zombified remains still driven by his desire to do good. As for Sagat being good, I think the story behind that is that he saw a dark reflection of himself in Dan's thirst for revenge against Sagat for killing his father, threw the fight to give Dan closure, and decided to walk a more righteous path. Likewise, the timeline in the Street Fighter video is incorrect, everything except 6 is before 3, canonically.

So far we dont know if he's "dead" but we do know through arcade dialogue, that he "Wanted to go back... went too far." as for why the Assassin's guild killed killed his patient, Faust wanted to preform an unauthorized procedure, but was denied over and over again. the reason being the conclave, (the 5 people who taught magic to the world and bombed Babylon) knew that Procedure hid the secret to resurrection, which they wanted to hide at all costs. so they hired Zato to kill him. then years later when Zato was killed by Millia Rage, and his body was possessed by Eddy, who failed to find a new host and died later.(Explaining the name change for R+ since they call him Eddy in that game) the Conclave brought Zato back to life, now Zato-1. but he was just a shell of himself, lacking all emotion except for his feelings towards Millia.

As stated by another comment, Faust is not confirmed to have died in the literal sense. I have a theory that he basically reset himself in every way outside of his form and knowledge. The way he walks is like he's learning to control his movements, and he constantly unintentionally causes damage, offering help in exchange (which often just ends up hurting someone more as he lacks full bodily control). Makes me think of a toddler still learning to walk and use their strength.

Yes and no. "Doesn't take itself seriously" doesn't mean it's not good or not well done. The creator sure made so everything in GG is bombastic, exaggerated and totally crazy, he literally went out of his way to do it. Is it good? Yes. Characters are well written and interesting? Absolutely. But crazy QueenReferenceGuy pulling out a battery of nukes to shotgun them into a god is still crazy and unserious

After God I-no's death, she's split into 3 parts 1. Megumi, Axl-lows lover from his timeline who gets dropped in the real world, so axl gets his happy ending 2. I-no, she got dropped in a paradox/pocket reality of her ideal world with 3. Happy Chaos, who then decided that being in said paradox wasn't funny and left, offering to bring I-no back with him, but she denies him, knowing that this paradox is the closest to the reality she wanted So everyone's retired and Happy Chaos is still around to commit emence shenanigans Edit: Happy Chaos can kill the whole cast simultaneously blindfolded with relative ease. He just doesn't because it ain't entertaining. He's also able to interact with the 4th wall (see his round draw animation.) Happy Chaos never lost in the story. He did what he wanted to, then when a literal omnipotent God screws it all up, he comes back in to resume usual warcrimes, yknow, as a joke

I-no's arcade is about her coming to terms with it in the paradox Chaos arcade is him escaping the paradox Chaos surviving a Junkyard blast, outpacing Asukas magic and nearly killing Anji Mito after "fighting" for 2 seconds and making bullets that kill immortals (like sol or nago) solidify where he stands in the power list

I like Anji's lore because it's just so nonsensical. He and Baiken are very close and experienced Japan being taken over and met while in colonies designed to keep Japanese safe. While Baiken wanted revenge against That Man, Anji was just curious about him and went to seek him out as well but not before just yoinking the a pair of fans that was responsible for creating a barrier over the Colony. He also just... decides to work for That Man and assist with his plans for some reason. There's a few other tidbits but nowadays Anji works with Chipp and was also seen with Baiken in the sub-plot but didn't join her and Delilah.

WoolieVersus has an amazing 7 part video explaining the entirety of GG's lore. Yes it's long but it's well made and is as good as it gets. I'm pretty sure the videos are still understandable at x2 speed and you can use it as a pseudo podcast for when you have a physical task that takes little mental energy (won't get to see the characters as they come up but you can just search up the character names after to what they look like).

I played sf4 for the 3ds, seth was so weird to me as a kid! I also mained dudley and fuerte in that game and later actually mained Yuri. I wasn't into her (although she may have appealed to my latent femdom enthusiast),I just rlly liked the way she played and I thought her ult where she combos the enemy and makes them land on her foot like nappa on kaioken goku's hand and then she says "that felt good didn't it" and slams the enemy down, that was the coolest shit to me!
