How wonderful that not only did they build a new organ in the cathedral, but also faithfully recreated the organ case of the historic Mosengel organ which stood here since the 1720s untils its destruction in WW2. Beauty for the ear and beauty for the eye 😍

So glad they didn't demolish the cathedral ruins after the war and instead restored it to its near pre-war condition. Absolutely beautiful and grand. Wish they had done the same with the castle. So much beautiful architecture was destroyed and/or demolished afterwards. The old architecture is just more timelessly beautiful and skillfully crafted. Loved the Bach Toccata; well performed.

But it wasn't the Russians who destroyed Konigsberg. Konigsberg was destroyed by the British with their senseless bombing.

That's true, yeah. People and tourism authorities in Kaliningrad say they would need to restore the castle in the end anyway, it means too much for the city
