@quicksite
@quicksite 4 жыл бұрын
@@kennygiron8876 That's a facile invalidation of a great idea. "Let me poke holes all over this". Never imagining the far greater likelihood that people flying across the USA, or internationally, have hours of time on their hands. And those who are pre-disposed to travel for adventure or curiosity are used to the "3 Days in Frankfurt" stories in traditional in-flight magazines, and could easily be hungry for more experiential tastes of other cultures, tapping that curiosity impulse, but sure why not dump on an idea that you didn't think of first. You = prototypical American
@kennygiron8876
@kennygiron8876 4 жыл бұрын
@@quicksite Im lost for words because how dumb your comment is. First of all Im not American, so quit your bashing towards any country, worse when you dont even have a clue. Second, Im not poking any holes in their idea. Im just pointing out that if youre already on your way to a place, and youre preparing just at that moment, youre definitely late. For instance, if youre going to the Caribbean, and on your way there you google if it is raining, you might not be ready for a Tropical Storm. The same way, if youre trying for new adventures and preparing while watching a vid on the plane, youll most definitely wont be able to make the most out of the trip. So quit being an idiot, and get your head out of your ass.

Finding cheap flights to wherever they go is step one. 3 connections of basic economy to get somewhere random that was cheap... that's the key. If you look for somewhere specific during a certain time of year, you're gonna have to pay $900+ to get across the Atlantic or Pacific oceans. However if you just subscribe to a facebook deal site they'll let you know "Atlanta to Budapest roundtrip for $480 in November" or something and you just move your schedule around to make it happen.

This honestly really appeals to me. I regularly find myself wanting to travel to a new country or city. Booking the flights, but then getting stuck. What do I want to achieve while I’m there. How do I get around? What could a 3-4 day itinerary look like. I’ve recently struggled with exactly this with my trip to Switzerland next month. I know I want to see mountains, but should I get a car? Will Zermatt be too cold? Will most places be closed etc. All these questions are hard to get answered from once source. I hope your project does well, however I honestly hope you guys consider a Subscription Based model. Similar to a travel magazine etc, where I could get monthly updates. Rather than forking our a large amount for a single trip

Here is a course idea: How to effectively visit and travel to a city in 3/4 days
@DeeZedEx

What does this even mean
@la9v7
@la9v7 4 жыл бұрын
DeeZedEx when you only have a few days in a certain city/country and what you should focus on to get the maximum out of your trip? For example: why waste your whole afternoon (and priceless time) to just go on top of the Eifel Tower, why not have a wonderful walk around Pere Lachaise?
@DeeZedEx
@DeeZedEx 4 жыл бұрын
@@la9v7 I was asking what "effectively visiting" means. Effectiveness means "the ability to reach a goal", does this mean you should travel to check a destination of a list, to have "done city x". I go to berlin every couple months. Is that ineffective travel? Also, what does it even mean? Going to the most obscure places? The best instagram photos? The best food? Getting to know locals or other travellers? Doing the most drugs/ drinking the most? Getting the most memorable memories? And if you plan a trip in detail, you're closing yourself to opportunity.

Congratulations to you both, Johnny and Iz! A start-up company is a big step! Also, I've learned a lot from your videos, and I've never enjoyed my history lessons more. I absolutely love this idea(s) of compiling as much information about different cities you guys visit. And never have I agreed so much that today's travelers have so much to learn about the culture of a city they are travelling into. I've lived in Singapore for the past decade, and I tell you, many (but not all) of the people I encounter often don't bother learning about their destination, or even understanding it's people and what drives them to live the way they live. It also saddens me that some of the people I encounter often compare the cities they visit to where they live in a negative manner. I truly wish that some travelers exercise empathy and respect to the foreign land they go to. I hope your courses will aid many of us to appreciate the people and the culture of the cities/country we visit, for better understanding and connection. Good luck and looking forward to more meaningful content!

You should try segmented video tours for cities and interviews with experience tour guides of those cities. My favorite and most utilized app while travelling was Rick Steves Audio Europe, and I recommended it to every single person I met while travelling. When you arrive in a foreign place, especially when you're alone, it is hard to get out of your comfort zone and explore the city. When you are on a budget and backpacking cities, you cant book a tour in every place. I remember when I was in Italy, walking around with headphones, running around the city with my virtual map, and exploring at my pace. My confidence as a solo traveler soared, because it felt like I wasn't alone. You could try that but with videos. You pre-download all the content for the city at the hotel/hostel, then when you walk to landmark you hold up your phone beside it, and watch while it gives you an animated description, info and history of that landmark, with interviews/knowledge from an experienced tour guide or research. It doesn't have to be landmarks, like your ramen example. Good luck!

@@huntstyle Every part of humanity only contributes so much. "Why should we change cars/traveling/agriculture (basically everything)? It only contributes X% of all emmissions!" or "Why should USA reduce co2 emissions? It only contributes X% to the global emissions." All individual contributions are adding up to what we will face in the future, if we discard everything as not important or not large enough. We gotta start not somewhere, but everywhere.
@huntstyle
@huntstyle 4 жыл бұрын
@@cal_vince the real problem is overpopulation. Reducing CO2 by 2% is pretty useless when the population of the world grows by 1 billion every 12 years. That population growth will more than make up for that 2% reduction. Some people just want to be self-righteous and think they're making an impact by driving an electric car (though I've heard the batteries for those are pretty bad for the environment, too), but the truth is virtually everyone on the planet would have to make SIGNIFICANT changes to their lifestyle, to a point very few would actually be willing to do, in order to truly make an impact. Or, everyone could stop having babies for 50-100 years, which would greatly decrease the burden that humans have on the Earth's resources. I'm doing my part... no kids for me, lol!

This is a great idea and providers a valuable if curated support to those who want to travel and experience new places and cultures. I don't know I would personally use it were I still the open eyed clueless traveller in my 20s trying to be spontaneous, but as a 40 something man, I could see my friends who are single and not well traveled but want to could totally get into this service. Thanks Johnny!

This is such a good idea Johnny! Loving the design of the brand and everything so far. Good luck with it :) without diving too deep, so far the first thing that comes to mind is Lonely Planet - but instead of a book, it's an online course. Great potential.

Hi I just signed in for the language course on Bright Trip. I like it so far. And I loved when you showed the video driving from Belgium to Italy: This part of Highway in Switzerland I drove very often. And there where you drove over the bridge with view on the mountains right and left (mentioning you will live once there). I lived there for 6 monthes ;-) I'm half italian. My mother came from the northern part of Italy. ;-)

Johnny, that is amazing, love it and definitely will use your platform a lot! Congrats! An idea, maybe short trip guide/how to options, imagine one is on a business trip with one or two days to spare, or a weekend trip. For me that is the most common option for traveling, and it is very hard to plan because there is kind of one shot. Good luck on your new enterprise!

I've seen trips as explorations, not vacation ever since i came to watch John's video clips. They and he broaden my curiosity;-) I will definitely sign that up and hope i can get to know more about other cultures through bright trip!

Pay once and get lifetime access. That's the key to get people interested. With all that subscription-based information, you have to read, listen and/or watch within the month of payment, or else you lose everything or have to pay again. Very thoughtful of you, Johnny! Very nice idea. I'm not yet planning a trip to London or Tokyo, but I will save this website for later. Thank you so much.

Absolutely love your videos and this sounds like a great idea for travel enthusiasts! You should consider adding a component on your site that allows for social interaction between users and the ability to act as local guides. Part of the beauty of encountering new countries and cultures is interacting with the locals and your platform seems like a good way to connect travelers with locals somewhat like the Couchsurfing platform.

Love this idea Johnny. Congrats for the balls and the courage to be so innovative! i think this is a brilliant idea and can't wait to utilize these tools when we can start travelling again. As a Canadian that hasn't been to nearly as many places in the US as I'd like to explore, will you be planning to incorporate US Cities (post Covid of course)? I know most US cities aren't nearly as foreign to a Canadian as say East Asia, but having these types of travel guides and resources would certainly add to the enjoyment and the appeal in visiting more US destinations.

Johnny, first of all, thanks for all the inspiration. I am happy to see creators like yourself on this platform who is not travel flexing, instead sharing some knowledge with great visuals. In terms of tutorials, if you could make detailed tutorials of how you master After Effects for the animations you do in your videos and VOX's videos, that will be amazing. I have been searching for how to edit like VOX etc etc since ages but didn't find a single tutorial related to that. I will be happy to support you on this project and If you guys come to Melbourne at some stage, please let me know. Would be keen to help you with anything. A big big thank you
