I watch Gemini launches in my classroom in elementary school. After that we would watch all of them. Growing up during that time was very exciting with a space race. Saw the man walking on the moon at my neighbor's house 25 in. TV. My wife told me she was at a Angels game in Anaheim.

They are mistaking Service Module for Command Module, which is where the astronauts normally "hung out." The Service Module housed the tanks, fuel cells, etc.

Mad respect to all those who lost their lives for the sake of spaceflight, and to all who have contributed to development of space technology

What was painful about the the challenger disaster was that it was completely avoidable if only NASA had listened to the warnings from the engineers concerning the weather.

Why is the editing so messed up. Apollo 13 is broken up in many parts. Why can't they have a complete story in one part?

We were watching the Challenger launch at school and when the shuttle broke up we were too young to understand what was going on but we knew it was bad. I was 5 and my main memory was asking if they were OK and our teacher saying yes even though she was crying. I only found out later that day they died. My parents sat me down and tried to explain it too me as well as you can explain it too a 5 yr old but it took a couple years to really sink in.

They said that the Saturn V was fueled by liquid hydrogen and Liquid oxygen. Not true. That was the second stage. The Saturn V rocket’s first stage used kerosene and liquid oxygen.
