The Biggest Snow Storm of the Year (Winter Truck Camping)

Headed out to do some truck camping in a big snowstorm! Local snow totals of 11-14 inches were reported in less than 24 hours, breaking a few records in the process. The snow made for a nice relaxing trip in the camper!

I can relate. I'm in NE Ohio and on Christmas Eve day it started snowing in the afternoon. It just kept falling and by noon on Christmas Day we had 12 inches under 24 hrs. One foot! I have lived here all my life and have never seen that much snow in that short of time!

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT with a plain aluminum camper shell. I'm pretty sure it with contain a twin mattress perfectly. I have camped that way before with an older, but similar sized Toyota pickup; but it has been over twenty years. I agree with camping at an electrified spot--handy for my electric heater, hotplate, and C-PAP machine which I need for sleeping. I hope to do some camping like you do before it warms up. Good vid. Glad you went out for a exploration walk. Not sure how long of a hike you do, but with the whole day I would burn 2-4 hours. Bundle up, but wear a wicking base layer (not cotton) as you will work up a sweat. A small pack will give you everything you need, emergency blanket, food, flint or other fire starter. Perhaps a walking stick, but unlikely you are going to have much in the way of undulations in the good life of NE. As for Top Gear, a must watch is the Bolivia special. Its the best episode, funny, but I think truly challenging for them (not entirely scripted) and incredibly beautiful. Clarkson is driving my favorite ....a Range Rover Classic.

You could use the from a storage tote to place your boots on and the lip around should contain the melt at mud from them Glad you got the storm there instead of us getting it here in the KC aera Great video thanks for getting out and sharing the storm

You need a mini stove to cook or boil water . Cannot just eat junk foods lol . Raman noodles and throw some slice ham in would make a good meal during a snow storm .
