I think it is the ultimate "challenge up" item. Rewards skilled players. Too bad NL did not notice when he got that range increase. He still thinks it only provides consumable. (I'm actually only 37 minutes in, so it is possible, but unlikely, that he figures it out by the end of the episode.)

To be honest I was already surprised he figured it out how it works on his own so quickly. Doesn't really matter if he doesn't know he can get stats if he at least understands that there is a reward to get.

Oh, I think it would be very different if he knew Death's List can give you permanent damage and tears, if you get lucky. That's probably what gets most people, they want those juicy stats up and end up taking risks they shouldn't for it, which I bet NL would also take.
