Rolin Jones said Rock Star Lestat is going to have a Bowie feel.. so... This song was written really quickly along with the teaser.. This was made for fun. Ill be surprised if this is even in the season. Again this was written right after season 2 aired.. and before season 3 was even written. Just letting the fans have a little tease for season 3.

You have to realize that this came out almost immediately at the end of season 2 and immediately on the heels of the announcement that it was renewed for season 3. This was to keep up anticipation for season 3. I'm quite certain they will come out with a more Extended High budget video later.

To new fans I'm sure that this rockstar Lestat seems way out of left field 😂 but it'll all make more sense once you see the story for season 3. One of the best vampire tales of all time they adapting for season 3!!

Yeah, the genre of music definitely isn't necessarily for everyone. But they did tell us before the song released that their inspirations for Lestats music were going to be like Glam Rock and David Bowie and a bunch of other inspirations.... And then they gave us this song and this song absolutely NAILS those genres and vibes of music. So yeah, it might not be everybody's cup of tea ...thats valid... but it's REALLY good for the genre that they are imitating/emulating. They really delivered on what they promised us... Because Anne Rice did actually write a couple of songs for Lestat with full lyrics in the books.... And pretty much everyone agrees that the songs are kind of ass... So this song is absolutely leaps and bounds better than the song lyrics that are in the source material. At least we got that going for us! Lmao.

Okay, I think the lyric video is so we actually read the lyrics. A lot of this song seems to be about Louis. First there's the choker in the shape of the way Louis slit his throat from the previous video. Seems to me they reunited in New Orleans and then Louis went back to Dubai and ghosted Lestat and he's now trying to get Louis' attention. Why the long face pretty baby - might as well say - why are you always so sad Louis? The break up line. Why does it matter who I take up.. The you disappear without a trace. Give me some face - expression Louis used in season 1. I think there are a few Easter eggs here and it's more than just about Louis, but yeah. Mostly about him imo. Lestat being Lestat.

Also the "come appraise me"... Louis is like an art appraiser/dealer. So that's another little Easter egg that points towards the song 1 million percent being about Louis. 😂 it's so good.

Sorry my loves but i think the song is crap and Sam Reid even though he is a great not to forget handsome actor who desrves an Emmy for the end of Season 2 episode 8 cannot sing a lick. Catchy tune thats it. I hope to see Louis in Season 3, at least he can sing.

That is incorrect. 😂 You might not like the song, but objectively Sam Reid can sing. Look up Sam Reid singing on KZbin. He is a singer and sings wonderfully live which some famous pop stars can't do well.

​@birdcallsreaction This! Prior to interview, there's only one video of Sam singing for a role and he is clearly not a professional singer. I think what we've heard so far shows that he has excellent tone, a lot of power/resonance, and the potential to really blow us away after some vocal training. Which I'm sure he's getting plenty of in preparation for season 3 😊
