FINALLY it’s here. Took me way longer than expected and I ran into many technical issues but here it is. I hope you enjoy this part and it’s many ups and downs. Many people thought this part was going to be purely “painful” and “heartbreaking”, and It Is sometimes but hopefully I surprised you with some of Liam’s monstrous talent that you didn’t know about. Lots of people seem to think that Liam’s voice was completely gone by the start of 2005 but that’s clearly not the case. The next part of this series will be the finale and the “Rebirth”. It won’t be nearly as long so It probably wont take as long as this one did but no promises 😂 Thanks for the support and interest everyone 👍👍👍 If you’ve read this far then leave me a comment and tell me what you thought

@@dylanfrank2464 yes! And I hope the studio footage from the recording of 'As You Were' is in. For me personally would be amazing to see his rebirth in process. I remember very well how much I was hyped for AYW in January-April 2017 when it was being recorded, and every snap of Liam looking finally after all those years healthy, fit and with good haircut was a revelation for me in a way. And I was blown away when I saw gig bootlegs and that Glasto 2017 perfomance! If he came to Russia back then, I would die because of a happiness overdose

This is fascinating.. rewatched Supersonic again yesterday and I took notice when Noel implied that Liam when started walking off during gigs he took over the singing role it was because Liam was having a strop or whatever. Liam replied " I resent that massively" There was real conviction in his voice and for all his faults Liam always put the music first and the stage was and is his favourite place to be. I genuinely believe he was really struggling to sing in that style but nobody in the Oasis organisation realised or tried to help, too busy riding the gravy train. Once he started to bail during shows, Noel took the opportunity to relish the extra limelight. He literally says as much in the Supersonic documentary. Liam said that he resented being left to twiddle his thumbs for more and more sections of the shows while Noel sang more and more songs. I think that is a much overlooked aspect of why the wheels came off the way they did. Any singer that's been around for a few years knows you have to do things to take care of your voice if you perform night after night and that's without caning it. I've worked with bands all my life and behind all the PR/ Spin you'd be surprised how many cider vinegar/ honey and lemon drinks are siting next to the bottles of JD and the amount of un-rock 'n roll sounding warm up exercises are to be heard emanating from behind dressing room doors. Liam would have been too proud to ask and no one else was bothering to look. You just can't sing with that kind of rasp night after night without doing something to protect your voice. Glad he's back on form now though, he seems happy and the new albums are great so onwards and upwards I guess?.

U got it.... when you sing professionally, there are tools of the trade & protocols that MUST be in place in order to pull it off. In all actuality, it is commendable that he was able to go on as long as he did, in the style he did. That is no easy feat, and the man clearly had no technical knowledge about breath support, or proper care for vocal longevity. He was running on PURE ROCK AND ROLL Piss & Vinegar, belting out at max capacity. Imo, what really did him in was the lifestyle. Cigs & Booze are KILLER for a light tenor voice like his. Throw in the chems and very little sleep, and it is only a matter of time until the voice wears out. He needed someone to step in and help him out, a vocal specialist would have probably saved him. I feel like if his big brother would have stepped in and said "alright kid, i see your struggling, lets get you some help", it could have gone a long way. The way it looks to me, is that at that point, the personal problems between those two were just piling up, and instead of trying to help Liam, Noel said "Sod It. He will wear himself out, and then I can have another reason to go and do my own thing". So it came to pass, and we got BEADY EYE, which was massively underrated. It was overshadowed by the specter of Oasis, unduly, and the music wasn't really appreciated. Liam did a number on his instrument, no doubt. Yet, here we are, in 2022, and the man has risen out of it, started looking after himself and had begun to restore his voice. Two massively successful solo albums, and headlining gigs all over Britain and Europe. It goes to show ya, that personal resilience and tenacity will serve you well, if you are able to couple it with a bit of discipline. Liam learned this later in life (like most of us do), and it is working out for him. I am a huge fan of Noel, as well, but it does make me smile to see that Liam is selling more tickets and albums than his big brother, but only because Noel has dug Liam, his voice and overall musical ability, out publicly so many times, and really has tried to downplay the importance of his role in Oasis. Noel got a little big for his boots while Liam was away, saying that it was really only him and his songs that made Oasis, which is absolutely not so. Talent always rises to the top, and that is why Liam is where he is. The man has a naturally brilliant voice and ability to deliver a song, and performance, that people love to see and hear. I believe some of his best is still yet to come. I'm really hoping for the lippy PUNK album he has said he would like to make. Awesome series, Fakest Radio, keep em coming.

Partly cos he can't sing them that well but being liam instead of just singing fairly poorly he has to totaly destroy it on purpose to feel in control. He's mad at Noel, why would he be sorry at a Time where the two hated each other so much that they didn't talk to each other and still don't to this day. That look that Liam gave Noel was a long cold and hard stare. He stared through Noel's soul. Their rivalry and hatred spread onto the rest of the band. Everything became bitter, nothing was special anymore and both of em knew the end was coming. Noel knew he was out. Liam knew it since beginning of 08 that's why he wrote " I'm outta Time" the song is about the breakup of Oasis Even tho it hadn't happened yet. For proof listen to the lyrics in the chorus. " If I'm to fall, would you be there to applaud or would you hide behind them all " this is Liam saying to Noel " hey when the band is over will we still be okay?, Will you abandon me or stay on my side?" . Liam knew the end was coming before Noel had Even thought about it. That Itunes gigs was one of the last Oasis gigs, Liam and Noel hated each other. During Slide Away Noel looks depressed and Liam is furious, we even see Liam visibly when singing that he's pissed. He's mad at Noel for ruining things for the band and for the fans for leaving Oasis despite not having yet done so.

I been at probably the worst oasis gig ever at Campo de Polo 06, but at that time I didn’t know it. It was my first oasis gig and from the field it sounded amazing, pure rock and roll. Besides, from my emotions of being my 1st concert make me don’t care about how it sounded, however when i saw it on KZbin later I found out I sounded awful. But at that time I didn’t care. A totally different thing was on River Plate Stadium 09, you can barely hear it singing because the mic was so low, so maybe the 2009 overall was the worst compared to the Polo 06’ , even some people disagree. My mate Debbie was working in Afflecks and I was in there having a brew on a Saturday afternoon. She asked me to play guitar in her band, 1993, so went down to rehearse at the Boardwalk. Went for a pint while the band they were sharing with finished up, she said they always went over. So we jibbed over there to try and get rid of 'em but they were still finishing up their set. I heard three songs, 'Cigarettes and Alcohol', 'Supersonic' and 'I am the Walrus'. Loud as fuck. Then a big row kicked off about a pack of cigs or something. Can remember it like it was yesterday!

Some of his greatest performances in the Oasis "middle ages" were Live forever 1st night in at Wembley 2000 (second night was awful), DYKWIM in Tokyo 2002 and The C&A + Morning Glory V festival 2006 - where he compensated for the bad voice with sheer power in his output.

In my opinion early 2005 is how Liam actually sounds when he sings "normal", not sneering or over-shouting but he does struggle in some places but overall great. I think the wear and tear is all caused by singing technique that is worsen by his hashimoto's. Singing with all throat with the dryness or horseness will wreak his vocals. Anyway my two cents from a longlife fan.

Really REALLY enjoyable, and so well done! Thanks so much for this one! So interesting listening to how Liam comes back against all odds. Strong man...strong will...strong voice! I wonder if he's ever had any surgeries for vocal nodes etc. Given what he's put his voice through, I wouldn't be surprised. But we can't expect him to rock as hard as he did when he was in Oasis, nor should we expect him to hit all those high notes. He was a mere 22 when a lot of those songs were written. I honestly wish he'd consider doing all the old Oasis tunes in lower keys, to spare his voice, and to show off the more mature, manly voice that he now has. Just my beef as a fellow aging singer, with Hashimoto's no less! I feel for him, and the expectations placed on him to sound as he once was. His voice now is really beautiful, he's using it in a much wiser and more intelligent way, and the musicians are working with him in a much more respectful manner...allowing his vocals to be front and centre, and not asking him to scream over wailing guitars. A new age of Liam is dawning, and it's a beautiful thing! Thanks again for this lovely compilation, so excellent! xo

Some of us get it: that the vocal chords age along with the rest of us, and we really ought not to hold people to keeping up their youthful standards. Great work! The part of the 2005-2006 era is shocking. We all agree that he is one of the last pure stars, but he should be more careful or at least take some lessons of how to keep his voice in good state. Someone should have explained what his talent is and how to exploit it. Nevertheless, we all admire the "signing at the edge". Moreover, Hashimoto and hypothyroidism have definitely an impact on the voice (of not only singers, but generally). In any case, let's see what is hidden in the last rebirth part.

Sometimes I feel like the most chaotic versions of Liam's voice in this video at the Oasis era, the mic was so low, It makes him shout even more louder, sounds like he's struggling to reach all notes every single moment, but with you think that's not his fault, when you put this kind of pressure in your vocal chords it doesn't work for a whole gig, maybe during four or five songs after that the voice automatically will gone
