This was wonderful and now I know how the flowers worn by the women in Yanxi palace were made! I always wondered why they looked like pipe cleaners when it turns out it was silk thread. Marvellous. Looking forward to seeing your next video.

Your work is extremely fine and incredible. It's definitely the practice of years. We have the same type of fibre-art in my home-region in India. The only difference is that we make chrysanthemum flowers instead of velvet flowers. Also, we sometimes make them by fibres other than animal silk as well such as we often use fibres of silk cotton tree ( because in rituals, things obtained from violence against animals are prohibited).

You should make yourself a cutting board with a groove for the scissors so that the strip you are cutting off stays level with the rest. It will prevent the last cm from being cut crooked.

@AvenueX1232 жыл бұрын
Just silk as it naturally is like, in super thin thread, and you tie everything together with threads too
@christina.pietri2 жыл бұрын
Would it work with a thread other than silk? Or is it the silk specifically that gives this result?
