Very cool, I have had my eye on his pots for a while. Currently a bit of a pot-weeb since I love my bankoware.

I still don’t have any banko pots but man do they look beautiful.

American tea culture is arguably very underdeveloped. For example, if you want a really good teapot, you'll have to get one overseas. The eight potters at this event are making really good teapots domestically. This event and the community it will create are laying the groundwork for really high quality American tea culture.

Hahaha that’s fair enough. Typically tea-potters are craftsman as opposed to artists so most art shows don’t feature potters with functional pots. This was cool because it was the first opportunity for 8 potters who are making functional pots to display in the same space for a gallery. There are also already inklings to do another gallery on the west coast. It may not seem like a lot yet but this is the start of a snowball or the seed of a bigger tree if you feel me haha.

@@averynelson1186 that's interesting as is something I've never really considered since in the UK you can pick up brilliant ceramic tea pots for under £10. Although I do think it's all for not though since it's having to compete with the well established coffee culture and the new comer Yerba Mata. The former being the ingrained default and the latter the exsotic alternative. Both being things you can easily take on go and/or consumed quickly, something that tea culture isn't suited for.

@@TaoTeaware when it comes to these shows is just a display or it a full on tea party? As if it's the latter then that sounds like fun 😊

@@Johnson_2022 for that one it was more like an art show but there was definitely tea shared at the end. 😁 There are a ton of tea houses that have tea parties every night across the US thought. They’re just peppered around. Not in every city. Some are more like cafes with tea others are more like traditional teahouses.

You guys should get ahold of and collab with (your otherwise competition) Jessestea... He travels between China and the US and sources both tea and teaware from China... If yall found ways to help each other, it would require the fore-runners to take a small hit by working together as opposed to trying to get ahead/standout, but it would be ultimately good for everyone. Especially if you guys can share tricks tips and methods. Food for thought!

We’d have no problem doing something with Jesse. 🙏🏻 All on the same team sharing love for tea and time in China.

For US potters haha. Not the country. It’s another hobby option. Not going to solve world hunger or replace football 😅
