My favorite star wars toys of the 90s hands down i had a bunch of these sets as a kid

I loved the micromachine because I could set them up as I wanted to display them. The only down side was how easily some could get lost (darn cats and vacuum cleaners).

Man, I loved micro-machines! Those and the penny-racers that were a little more affordable. Do kids even play with Hot-wheels or Matchbox cars anymore?

@@thetvbaby83 - That's great to hear! My daughter is twenty-one now so I've been out of the loop for a while.

@@thetvbaby83 - Yeah, we went swimming today and I recalled all the times that I had to put sun block on her when she was just a little tyke. Time moves pretty fast! At least this summer we were able to share a few cocktails at the pool, so that was nice. Like you say, good and bad. Take care and give your young one a hug for me!

What a boomer thing to say? Of course kids play with toy cars

Man, seeing this brings me back. I still have the Hoth and Endor playsets and I think a few more I have in a box upstairs in my bedroom. As for the individual figures and starships I had, I gave a majority of those to my best friend's cousin several years ago. Only kept the few I didn't have in the Titanium line (like the Mon Cal Cruisers, Nebulon B Frigate, and the SotE vehicles).

Still have tons of these; they were awesome! I particularly love the tiny versions of the transforming head playsets that came in 3-packs (today they would be blind-bagged and cost 10 bucks each). Do part 2, and cover Action Fleet separately because it was its own thing and a bigger scale.

I remember these, I was actually more into the Star Trek ships they did at the time though

These came at the PERFECT time! They were easily afforded by kids and created whole worlds that we could play in and didn't take up much space, which I'm sure our parents liked. My brother and I were already into the micro cities and such and the second I saw these Star Wars ones I had to have it. I got the Hoth set and my brother got the Death Star. We ended up getting quite a few each and I've since collected all the opening heads. I still have every mini figure and vehicle that came with them. Although once POTF2 came around I really wanted the Millennium Falcon and my mom got me the Micro Machines one instead. I was so bummed!

I used to have multiples of some of the MM ships. The thing that grabbed me was that, to my knowledge, it was the first time the CR-90 Corellian Corvette/Tantive IV/Galactic Cruiser/Blockade Runner/Princess Leia's Consular Ship...aka my alltime favorite ship design in the Star Wars universe....made it as any kind of collectible miniature.

Loved these. First real taste of Star Wars toys before the 90s Power of the Force line. Still have most of them. Loved Micro Machines in general, too. So cool. Enjoyed them more than Hot Wheels.

before your time (1964?), my favorite box of toy soldiers were 1 inch tall, hand-painted figures from Louis Marx - something like micro-machine miniatures

I still have the original Micro Machines that they initially put out in the 90's still in their packaging. I was tempted to open them but thought of the later on value and kept them sealed. Probably not worth much more than what I originally paid for them.

Random question: are you gonna cover the Micronauts toys from the 1976-1981 line? I loved the comic as a kid and saw a few on ebay. Did you look down on them as a kid or did u like them as much as star wars? Would be cool to see you discuss them to
@stuartrandall25842 жыл бұрын
Also junkman what about the Action fleet range there were some good toys in that range
@acrodave92872 жыл бұрын
In my last comment on the Virago video I said I had the micro version. It isn't, it's the Action Fleet version! I keep mixing up the two lines, because I'm an idiot! Didn't really like a lot of the Micro playsets because of the weird out of scale elements like the size of the figures compared to the vehicles, but I do have the big full globe Death Star that unfolds into a multi-level playset. Nice!

Have the Galoob Death Star. I heard from someone who designed and built prototypes for Galoob in the 90's, that George Lucas loved it because it was not a section but the whole Death Star.
