I was kidnapped in January 2013 while I was 8 months pregnant with my first child. I was followed by some men from the bank where I withdrew money. I thought my life was over, and all I could think of the moment was my baby. I remember I had kept on looking at my belly as the baby was kicking so hard, like as if it knew we were in danger. they took everything I had, they left me in the middle of nowhere, and the next thing I realized was that my pants were wet and thought my water broke and am going into labor. Later, I found out I wetted my pants out of fear. My daughter is now one month away to turn 12 years. Those tugs were never caught, and it still hunts me every time I remembered what happened or what could have happened. It's not a kind of encounter anyone can imagine about. I am lucky I survived unharmed.

@@pastelclouds1922 what you are saying is very outdated. The online article is old asf from 2007. Doesn't look like Tom Cruise will produce this story into a movie. If Actor Tom Hanks were much younger and healthy than he ie today, he would have made movie about this Mr.Stanley's kidnapping, just like his other movie hostage genre, like Captain Philips. Too bad this Stanley's kidnapping story was purchased by Tom Cruise very early on and it was neglected. Listening to Stanley's horrific story brought back memories of my own abduction near Mendocino, California. I was taken out by someone I recently met and trusted who was helping me find a place to live while attending the Mendocino Art School. He drove me south to a wooded area near the ocean and proceeded to tell me I was going to die. I escaped from his car and ran for my life into the woods. Long story short, they never did find this sociopath and told me he might have been a drifter in the area. When you stare death in the face, it is a horrific and terrifying experience and it changes your life. My experience shattered me mentally and I have suffered from PTSD since. I don't socialize with people as I once did and am now semi-reclusive. I am happy that Stanley is alive and hopefully is doing well.

Stan is such an amazing storyteller very glad that he is alive and happy . Am glad both humour and assertiveness comes through from this story. An incredible episode from the 48 hours team and certainly a nice change.

This was one of the best 48 hours I have watched, Stanley, and the twinkle in his eye, and the DYPD cop (sooo NYPD) were the stars! Their narratives were brilliant. The touches of humour from both was what made this show. And the production and direction were top quality. Has someone bought the rights to Stanley's book? He could have played himself, he was so compelling and watchable. And a really nice guy to boot. Lucky wife.

As I was watching this episode, a movie was rolling on my head. Amazing how Stan was able to tell with so many details the ordeal he went through. Sometimes bad things happen so we can open our eyes to see life in a different way.
