Thank you for the great videos. I walked the Frances solo in 2022. I loved El Decanso in San Juan de Ortega, too! I stayed and ate there. The next day I took the "rio" river route into Burgos which is heavenly and avoids the highway. After Orbaneja Riopico, turn left at the white condo complex near the highway, walk around the airport fencing, then from Castañares roundabour turn into a industrial area that connects with parkland that follows a river around 5 km right into central Burgos. Take the 3rd/last pedestrian bridge into Burgos via Arco de Santa Maria, it takes you right to the Cathedral. Enjoy every moment!

You missed the nicest albergue....hospital de peregrinos jlJyan Bautista. Behind the church...in the church. Epic.. I m8ssed it too. Last year. This year no. I have been there for the hosputalero training. There you feel the spirit of Camino.

dear Olive, lovely to see another chapter of your walk, and finally approach the first big city Burgos - a true landmark... spirit feels a bit less high, but you're soldering on... and food & accomms look and sound great... it seems that you at this point are through with physical challenges, like blisters... tiredness still there... and paths along traffic roads - there's more to come!! In my experience thats a time when the question 'Why the Camino?' comes up stronger, as there's some settled-in routine and not much survival & safety issues... why am I doing this?... to prove that I can do it? ...to myself? ...to my friends and family (who might have thought this a crazy idea in the first place)?... ...what is (this) pilgrimage about? Often when I hit that inner place while walking it, I felt the original magic of the idea suddenly present again... there's more to this than the 'outer' experience... this is about learning more about myself, and my life's purpose... the magic about being in the present... stepping back from what I think my life is, and is about... to me it truly was discovery and proof, that I'm on an inner journey, as much as the outer experiences and circumstances might 'bombard' my senses (in good and also challenging ways)... I hope to hear more of your inner process, as you advance, and very curious now about how you will eventually feel, when Santiago is only a few kms away anymore, and indeed, when you arrive at the cathedral... but we're (well: you're) not there yet - so for now, the next step is the most important... 🙏💚☺

Thank you! ❤ I am using a mirrorless camera too (Sony a7III), but since I didn't have a smaller action/vlog camera, I ended up using the phone in many situations (while moving or when it was more convenient). 😊
