The Bitwig Grid is awesome - BPM based release times in Bitwig

In this video, it's about time-based release or attack times of dynamic processors. Sometimes you want to dial in 1/16th notes of releases instead of milliseconds. It's missing in most compressors. I also use this video to build a grid patch to work around this problem for some nerdy reasons, to learn the grid, and to challenge myself.

Fascinating! I think Bitwig needs a “formula” module like Voltage Modular where you can just enter a formula (I think they even have like 3 inputs x y and z). For use cases like this it would be much easier.

I don't know if they'd ever consider it, but Lua might be a good fit for embedding in Bitwig for all kinds of stuff.

In the next video of the Bigwig Grid video series, please can you show how to use a few simple maths and logic grid modules in to unify quantum mechanics and the standard model, then feed the output into custom 'Universal master bus' module allowing instant transmission of sound to all physical points of space in the multiverse, to all time points in the past, present and future, simultaneously. There is much easier way that doesn't involve zero crossings detector. You can get the constant phase sawtooth LFO (for example 1 Hz) multiply it by 100 for precision and then retrigger it with the phase signal (probably multiple times per phase cycle so it reacts to bpm change faster). After that you can catch the maximum amplitude by triggering S&H when phase signal equals one. The S&H output will be BPM-dependent, and all you need is to do the rest of the arithmetic to align this value between BPMs you need.

So phase signals which go above 1 are interpreted as if they were wrapped between 0 and 1? Said otherwise, only the decimal part of the phase signals is used by the grid modules?
